check this thread out. I had the same thing.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
this reverts you completely back to stock. You will lose all your data but you did back up regularly, right?
(edit) you only have to hold the volume UP key while plugging in the USB on a D801 to get into download mode.
Make sure you've disconnected usb when attempting to enter recovery. Hope the silence means you've sorted it out!

i felt like going back to stock from (was on cm11 nightlie) so i went on flashify and for some reason i tried restoring twrp and when it rebooted it messed it up bad -.-
I am able to get into TWRP to flash a ROM. I have tried the Stock Sprint Root ZV8 and it just reboots into TWRP. I was unable to get it to work with the LG Flash Tools.

If you're trying to unpack the ROM try redownloading the rom.
You're saying that you have CM installed? I had this exact problem and I had PA installed.. it was a mess. I had to sideload the original ROM because to flash with that program your build.prop has to be the original information when you received the phone or else the program will throw a "different phone model"
Do you have the LG usb drivers? Install all proper USB drivers and try to sideload an original ROM.
BTW do you have any backups? Restoring also gets you out of this mess
never mind i opened the wrong folder thanks for everything guys it worked perfectly ^.^

In case you don't know, you can supposedly get rid of it by displaying an all-white screen (with display brightness turned down to preserve bulb life).

With no root, the only way to get rid of this bootloop is to factory reset, you can do it in recovery by pressing volume down + power at the same time, then you choose Recovery with the volume button. BUT you will loose everything ( pics, apps, etc. ).
But I hope that someone can give you another solution less "destructive".

Can he do a back up using ADB and then do a partial restoration after a factory reset?
Will adb backup work if the phone's not booting? .. I know that adb works when in a bootloop, but in the guide it shows a prompt to enter some encryption password ... I summon android wizards to answer this ...

adb works with no os. that's how CM installer installs CM11 through usb (ADB) even when the phone can only enter recovery

i tried that just now, had to patch sd card to make it writeable which seemed to go fine, then tried to reboot into recovery (after the phone auto-rebooted after patching) and its basically stuck at the "samsung gaalxy s6 edge" splash screen, nothing happens beyond that, same as always ><
in order to reboot the phone i have eto hold down power + vol down + home, then release as soon as it turns off and it will boot up normally.
and infact now its not booting up at all, I wll prolly have to re-flash the 925t root file via odin to get it booting again.

Supersu unroot didnt work for me. I tried that and didnt look for root permissions before updating(dumb idea).
The update failed so i had to volume down + power to get out of it. Now i dont have the update available. :crying:
The failure could be totally unrelated though.
I have to admit... The fact that they are updating the FW on a nearly monthly scale, proves the level of commitment to this phone by Asus. I am so glad I chose it over the OPO.
Same here, I used this guide to root: http://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=9340
I did the unroot procedure with SuperSU before running the update, restarted my phone, tried using the OTA update and after going into recovery it just says "Error". After panicking a bit, I restarted the phone manually, fortunataly I was able to boot again but now I can't update. I don't even see the update as available anymore. As root, all I did was uninstalling some bloatware. What can I do?

You can try sideloading the zip file via adb...

Did you ask in the carbon thread?
Chances are it was a wipe issue.
Did you wipe in stock or aosp recovery?
You can always get back to stock by flashing the stock firmware.
I did this via booting twrp then flashing to both slots.
So unlock storage in twrp, then go flash the ROM, reboot recovery and it'll change slot.
Then flash it again.
Then reboot
Should boot
If not boot to recovery again (not twrp) and wipe system and data.
Should work then..
I didn't have that issue when carbon myself
If push comes to shove there's a tool to get back to stock @meffles has suggested it a few times but I've not used it myself, although he has and he swears by it.
Probably a good way to go and won't be hard.

Meffles is your man or check in the thread..
Don't you connect in EDL mode?
Think it's like a lower level recovery mode that you get to without having the cable connected. The screen will be blank..
Then connect and if should show..
Least that's my loose understanding of it.
What does the thread say??
Ps: looks like the application has stopped responding..
Make sure you have ran it as an administrator and that all pre requisites are installed that the application requires..

Turn your phone off, and make sure you don't have any cables connected. Hold volume up + volume down for 20 seconds, then plug in the usbc cable whilst still holding the volume buttons. You should see it spring into life. If not, then you need to check your drivers, which is covered in the link I provided you with.
I've taken it to a shop for repair
