Ok ..Different ? Here....
I have a Galaxy S7 Active. Up to date with newest Non rooted stock everything from At&T. Got a 128 gig Samsung Evo MicroSD. Why when I try to Encrypt the SD card it just says Checking SD Card...it never progresses past this step...Card is fine ...saves everything never has errors...etc..
Any ideas Android Geniuses out there?
Thanks!

Hi,
I got the update last night. Everything went great. I popped in my SD card and was wondering if I canmoves apps to the SD card like I can on my gingerbread phone?
Thanks again
prob not sdcard slot seems to be read only.
I'm in a bit of a pickle. I'm on rooted stock 4.4.4 and recently got a wild hair to go to lollipop. I have an 8 gig Patriot SD card. Not enough room to pull off a Nandroid, etc. I have a brand new 16 gig SanDisk laying around and a brand new 32 gig Samsung EVO card that I just got in. Neither will mount properly, or reliably. Android claims it's blank and will not mount/format it. I have to slide it in and out (don't get cute with that...) until the phone mounts it and then it's in a partial read/write state. However, if I put the old 8 gig card in, all is well. I do not have SD card encryption enabled. I have tried the SD Fix applications, they find nothing wrong. If I put the card into a laptop, everything is perfectly fine.
So I'm to the point where I may have to completely ODIN my phone just to see if it's a ROM problem. I cannot back-up because of the card issue. :crying:
Any bright ideas?
thank you much
I wound up giving up and doing an ODIN to lollipop, forfeiting my root. All the SD cards work fine...
I have installed rooted stock ([ROM][N900T] Stock Lollipop 5.0 (N900TUVUFOB6) v1.1 - ROOT+DEODEX+ZIPALIGN+deKNOX) I have a 128GB card and while in file manger I point it to SD Card, phone just sits there, does not read it and then re-starts. I have swapped with a 64GB card and phone took to it like a charm. I was a cooked ROM and it read the 128GB card just ok. I would like to use it with stock. I guess I read there was a limit at 64GB, but is there a way around that any one knows of?
Ok hey guys. Yes I searched. This forum and the internet in general.
So I don't know why but all of a sudden my phone won't recognize my SD Card. It has been working for the month that I have had it but all of a sudden... IDK It is a ScanDisk 32GB SDHC-1 U1 Class 10. Anyways I have unlocked bootloader, rooted, xposed installed on stock operating system. I don't have the May OTA Security update and I flashed the zip since I can't accept OTA updates with modded os and it didn't work. No biggie, I don't really care about the May Security update anyways. This was like 2 weeks ago. Well I get tired of seeing the screen asking for me to download it so two days ago I got the app "DisableService" and in the folder Motorola Update Services, I disabled Ota Service. That's the only thing I have done recently. Anyways last night I pick up my phone and notice some of my apps have disappeared. I look in the storage and usb section and the sd card is there but greyed out. I restarted my phone a couple times, popped the sd card out, cleaned the contacts, and put it back. Nothing. I have everything backed up anyways so I forgot the card and reformatted it but I get this error
Whenever I reinsert it I get the notification "Unsupported ScanDisk SD card" but I can't format it. Maybe the card went bad all of a sudden? It's just weird. So I bought a new MicroSD card-PNY Elite-X 64GB microSDXC UHS-I, U3. It's on the way but I don't like not knowing what went wrong with the one I had. Any suggestions?
SD cards do go bad. Do you have any SD cards laying around you can put in just to test if it is the SD card or the phone hardware?

The only other one is in my wifes phone and I'd have to forget it and wipe it. No biggie I guess I'll just wait for the new one and see. I upgraded to 64GB and U3 so I'm happy about that.
My SD card is not recognized and doesn't even show up at all on Android 7.1.2 (SlimROM). But when I boot on TWRP recovery it at least acknowledges my SD card and shows the folder the /external_sd
I'm not able to partition it though. I have formatted it in TWRP many times with different formats such as FAT, exFAT, ext.4, ect. but when I boot up back to Android (ROM: SlimROM 7.1.2) from recovery, the SD card is still not shown. It doesn't even acknowledged that there is something in the SD card slot.
It's a class 2 micro SDHC card by Samsung. I originally got this SD card with Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate, but it still works.
I've tested my SD card and it has been recognized by all my previous phones with no problems today. Phones tested: Moto Razr M, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S Fascinate
Any help, suggestions or identifying the culprit of the problem is appreciated.

Your first step should be to check the SD card works with the stock rom. If so, it's probably a problem with the custom rom, if not it's most likely the SD card reader.

If there is a problem with the SD card reader, how would TWRP acknowledge it? I just flashed the stock rom and it still doesn't read the SD card. I just got this phone as well
