After rooting and trying to install xposed, without much luck as I kept getting error 255. I was hoping someone knew of a decent app or similar way to change the status bar icons? battery icon mainly
TIA

I've found none for the entire status bar unless you're rooted so I'm using Battery Overlay Percent Key. It defaults to covering up your battery icon but you can move the battery icon anywhere you like. There is a free version but you get more customizations with the key which is pretty cheap. Oh there is one app for the status bar I know of called Omega but I found it to be terrible.

Odd that there isn't more launchers that do it, but there is one launcher that does have built-in status bar editing, CleanUI. It's a IOS look alike that previously was called Espier Launcher. I've tried it and it's not too bad, but it seemed to use more battery than Nova, what I normally use.

Do I have to be rooted?
I want to remove the time, battery status, and alarm clock on/off icon.
Thanks.
You can run a home alternative like adw or launcher pro to choose to hide it.

No. I do not want to hide the entire bar, just those specific icons.
I'm interested also in removing those specific icons. The battery indicator is very inaccurate.

There is a "fix" for the inaccuracy. It's just loading up more graphics with incremental changes.
I use the switch pro widget which already contains a very accurate battery meter along with a bunch of other goodies.
The clock is useless to me simply because the lock screen before you get into your home screen contains a huge clock.
cyanogen gives these options. I dont know of another way. I have done one of the "accurate" battery mods and LOVE IT (check jonnybuenos theme out, amazing).
How do you change the app icon picture? I am rooted and running cyanogen nightly 110 with launcher pro. Yes I can change the dock icon but not the screen icon, it does not give you anything option to change to custom icon.......This question only few of you might know what I'm talking about.
Check out desktop Visualizer in the market.

thanks man
if you are rooted and not afraid of getting you hands dirty a bit, you can try using ninjamorph to change the icon permanently. It can replace any files you would like within a given application. If you like customization i recommend trying it. Ive changed icons, different color rosie buttons, and also icons in the status bar.
Heyo
Wondering how i would go about removing the notification bar that shows battery etc.
I am using ADW launcher ex, but can't for the life of me seem to find the option for it anymore. I swear it used to be there when i used it for my galaxy s2.
If adw doesn't have it anymore do you have any recommendations for another launcher app that would do the trick.
Thanks in advance!

I've looked and not been able to find, but has anyone created a sideloading app for this?

i believe that after the new update, it enables a semi-transparent status bar which works with all wallpapers. I heard that if you want to keep root, don't update, but I guess this is one way to get the new status bar :silly:

You could always try a launcher... Like Apex that allows for a transparent notification bar.

Only if you run samsung wallpapers.
Nova launcher also gives you the option of a trans status bar..no matter what wallpaper you use.

With the latest update, all wallpapers are supported with a semi-transparent status bar (even on the Touchwiz Home launcher).
Enlightened ftw
Hey,
(Not 100% sure this is in the right section)
I was wondering if anyone knows an app for the status bar that is like Omega status bar. I really liked Omega status bar until the bug happened where it only takes up 1/2 the status bar. I'm non-rooted and don't plan on rooting, so root apps aren't going to do it. But yea, I want an app similar to Omega status bar that has the options to change the colors of the icons and different themes like it had and such, or if anyone has a fix for the omega status bar problem. Tried the other ones like super status bar, don't really like those.
Thanks
Is omega status bar something that is common knowledge? I've never heard of it.

It's an app that changes the status bar to your liking, through themes and such, that did not require root.
But now it only fills half the status bar, and it seems the devs have abandoned it.
