Battery problem: Phone shuts down with 50% - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone is shutting down when battery level reaches around 50%. When I plug on the charger, it says that the battery level is at around 20%.
Maybe the battery is damaged? If resetting the stats would do, is it possible to do it without root?

There should be a file (either in sdcard or internal storage) under the name of bt_battery_life delete and then restart your phone.

Try updating firmware. If it is the latest downgrade it to stable one.

The battery is gone. Is inflated. Bought a new one from China, hope it arrives this year...

are you using the stock charger? did you try to flash any ROMS? what about custom kernels? also, has there been any water damage to the battery?
are you still under warranty? if so, i'd just take it back to the store and see about getting a replacement battery for free

You can try wiping the battery stats in CWM

or what if i try the new update that is out now?
problem is i can't figure out how to do that either.. ugghh...
You said you used rom manager I believe that is your problem. rom manager wont do a wipe right now. you need to use tenfers cwm or fastboot to wipe. There is a flashable tenfers cwm just do a search I believe it was in a thered about rom manager. Once I get on a computer ill send you a link.
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1173879&highlight=Rom+manager&page=6
this is where I got it from if it works don't forget to click the thanks button
Edit: you can still use rom manager but only to reboot into recovery then you have to do everything manually
backup your system, install stock rom via fastboot, wipe via fastboot, try to charge with the phone off.
Did you ever get this fixed if so what was the fix?

Lol I laughed
Try this:
1. Remove the battery
2. While the battery is out, plug in the charger
3. When the large battery question mark appears, put the battery back in
4. Wait a couple of minutes, then disconnect the charger
5. Turn on the phone and see if the problem is gone
Of course, it's possible that you fried the chip in the battery, and nothing will work short of a new battery.
im sorry this happened to you. but its refreshing to see an original problem around here besides a bootloop/brick lol. Id suggest fastbooting to a new rom or sbf to one.

[Q] Nexus 4 Lollipop won't boot - spinning circles

My Nexus 4 won't boot. It gets stuck at the spinning colored circles. I picked up my phone in the morning and the charge was down to 4%, and as I was entering my pin to unlock it powered off. I have lollipop and received the update OTA a couple of weeks ago, and it has been fine. I did not manually install lollipop.
I tried clearing the cache, and it still won't boot. Any ideas of what else I could try? I really don't want to do a factory reset.
Thank you in advance.
Is your bootloader open?

No, it is locked. Never rooted it either. Its straight stock.
Is it encrypted?

Yes.
Oh, that would explain it.
It crashed while decrypting, and I fear, there is no option to save your data.
Maybe someone other has an idea, I don't have one, sorry.

Ya, that's what I was afraid of. I'm not sure if I finished entering my pin or not before it powered it self off.
unplug anything from the usb port , then give it another shot.

Battery life drops after root?

I have noticed something really weird, after applying root my battery life seems to be lower. I could manage 6 sot with some good heavy gaming and now same use barely reach 5. Same thing happenes with the note 5, is it because of the knox counter?

That would be really strange.
Doing battery calibration via twrp, when u delete the batterystates.bin file. i think that might do the trick, hopefully.
How do you do that in twrp? I've seen exactly the same thing when I rooted my phone

What mods have you done since rooting? You must have done something, otherwise you wouldn't have rooted, right?

Usually in about a week after first OTA appears. Check this link for ROM and flashing guide http://en.miui.com/getrom-333.html
go to Setting -> App on three dot upper right click show system app
find "Google service frameworks" and clear data and force stop
now go to check update again
