Install an app-installer or a file manager ,such as Astro.
I think you'd better use the SEARCH function.
But the problem is i want install modified native app, appinstaller wont allow me to do that
Anyone have any experience on native app re/installation ?
you need to resign the app if you modified it.
There is a setting in the menu to allow non market apps
see
Settings -> applications - Unknown Sources
then simply navigate to the apk using the brower, it will download then click hold it to install.
Is there a editor for the android systems like there was for the WM devices. Something that allows you to change system settings .ie turn of proximity sensor. I used Astro but it didn't save my changes.
gsm.proximity.enable=false
I changed it to true and it didn't save it and I removed it completely and it didn't save it. I just need to be able to change some system stuff.
Sure, any terminal will do this, but you need to be rooted and have superuser access.
I am rooted and have superuser . I have tried astro and root explorer. S o how do I disable proximity. Someone please help.
I want to use the Xperia_Z5_Premium_Walkman™_Port_v2.0_by_androidexpert35 on miui8 stable rom. It installed without any problem but when I go to audio settings of the walkman, snapdragon audio manager opens instead of clear audio. then i remove my system MUSIC FX and reboot. now i get clear audio + but when i change the equalizer sound doesnt change, so i posted on androidexpert35 thread about the problem and they said to change se-linux to permissive mode, i cant find any way to change it permanently. i mean if i reboot my device it changes to enforce mode.
the funny thing i have used this walkman on this same rom without any problem, then i had to edl flash my redmi 2 then i flashed the same rom same walkman but its not working.
please help me any kind soul
Did you try a app named "selinux changer"?
If it doesn't work then I got a method (I forgot where I have seen that in XDA).Try it on your own risk.Here you go :-
If ur current rom is int.d support then u r good to go.If not then download a app called universal int.d tool and and install it ,then enable int.d.
Now create a new file in etc/int.d directory and rename it by "08setperm". Now add the two lines in that file
#!/system/sh
setenforce 0
And giver the file full permission (rwxrwxrwx) by using es file explorer and reboot.
If it helps ,let me know.

I can see that with Android Oreo there is a new section to install from Unknown Sources; but do apps need to update to show up in the list? For example I use Solid Explorer as my file manager and so am used to installing apps from there. Now it won't let me and I have to do it from the Downloads app. Annoying!
If you go to settings, apps & notifications,advanced,special app access,install unknown apps you should be able to allow it for your file manager, if that's what you want.
If you want to install from your file manager, tap the apk while your in your file manager and Oreo should ask you if you want to allow it from your filemanager.
Edit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73623948&postcount=11 this guy had the same issue I guess.
I don't see it in that menu. That's where I was looking already. I only have some google app and facebook.

I just installed and opened the solid explorer, choosed a apk file, solid explorer starts with the menu: open with..., I choosed packet Installer and Oreo ask me if I want to allow to install unknown sources from solid explorer. I don't know what's the problem. You should uninstall and reinstall the solid explorer and start from the beginning, if that fails for you for whatever reason.
can someone give me the power manager apk i unninstalled it with system unninstaller pls
