Ok,
I know that this phone has VoLTE in the US, band 12.
But what about Europe. Does anyone have this phone in Europe and has VoLTE working with their carrier ??
P.S. - I know that your carrier has to have VoLTE and also support for your phone...
VoLTE is not band dependent. In US T-Mobile (and their postpaid MetroPCS) uses VoLTE on band 12 nationwide and AT&T, Verizon on all bands (AT&T couples it with HD Voice). Postpaid CrickedWireless (owned by AT&T) didn't get yet the VoLTE.
How it works - adding a SIM with VoLTE enabled, adds an entry in your phone's menu that says "Enhanced LTE". If the SIM is not LTE enabled, that entry is hidden.
To check if the phone will work with VoLTE, dial *#*#INFO#*#* and, at "Phone Information", you should see "TURN OFF VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG" denoting that VoLTE provisioning is activated.
How exactly do you dial *#*#INFO#*#* on a phone keypad. There are no ways to get INFO from numbers, *, and #.
Never mind. I just entered the corresponding numbers and found "TURN OFF VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG" but tapping it does nothing. I still don't know how to turn T-Mobile VoLTE on or off on a Moto G4. No where in the settings is there a way to toggle it.
LOL how you dial INFO... That means you never saw an old, regular phone dial pad

Why would you want to turn it off? You loose coverage on T-Mobile, they have places that they don't have 2G/3G signal, only LTE.
To turn off, you turn off that "Enhanced LTE" switch.

Phone has signal when 3G covered. When there is no 3G covered, it shows emergency call only
I just found that when shows emergence call only, the GSM or WCDMA (*#0011#) show 'limited', band is GSM900/1800 OR WCDMA/2100.
What is the problem? I can use the simcard normally on Blackberry at the same place and same time. Does it mean the phone has some signal problem like iphone?

Hi Guy
i guess you activated only 3g - just use gsm/3g (gsm/wcdma) than it should work
yeah if you selected wcdma only
you will only get signal when there's 3G
or if your carrier doesnt support gsm.. didnt say who your carrier was but i remember reading there are some that support 3g but no gsm?
or the carier covers gms with a contract from another carier. here in austria we had this problem with dataconnections and android and roaming disabled.

Mine is UK Orange network. I always used the GSM/WCDMA (AUTO) so it is not the setting problem.
I have tried lots of firmwares with no success. I am not on the Orange stock firmware.

If it fails on stock firmware take it back under warranty .
If it fails under a flashed custom ROM its the ROM .

Hello, if this is in the wrong section please have a moderator move it, as I am unsure if it should be here or in the Tmobile section.
I have a Sprint Galaxy S7 that I have had SIM unlocked. I have my T-Mobile SIM installed and have data and voice. I am coming from a T-Mobile Note 4 which was working perfectly.
Every now and then(sometimes twice a day) I get loss of signal and sometimes I get this error message that pops up when it happens. usually turning airplane mode on and off will solve it, but sometimes it requires a reboot.
When it happens my signal bar goes blank, I have no data and cannot send or recieve phone calls or Text messages. It is very annoying and I cannot seem to find the correct combination of Mobile Network settings.
I have also noticed slow LTE download speeds and almost non existent upload speeds. Sometimes it says 3G instead of LTE next to the signal.
I live in Chicago and have attached some pics of my settings. If any more pics are needed just let me know. It is so frustrating I am thinking about just trading this phone into tmobile for their version of the phone to avoid all this hassle, but would rather not get ripped off. They say the trade in value is only like $400, but they charge $650 for their GS7, so yea.
Is there a solution to this?

Traded the sprint s7 into tmobile for their version, less hassle. Now I get wifi calling, tethering, and faster lte data without drops.
Hi guys, I have a problem. I had enabled advanced calling under verizon account long time ago, and it's still enabled, but the option to enable it under phone settings is missing.
So I disabled the verizon advanced calling feature and reenabled it to see if the option would pop up on my mxpe.
It doesn't.
Any suggestions?

You appear to be running a custom ROM, so I am not sure, but on stock you need to dial *#*#4636#*#* and turn on VOLTE provisioned flag under Phone information. Then Enhanced 4G LTE Mode should show up in your Cellular Networks menu.
Touching that option does nothing.
I'm on stock Feb 1 2015. Rooted.
Once it is enabled it should say "TURN OFF VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG". Then the Enhanced 4G LTE option should be available under Cellular networks. That is strange, it should appear regardless of support by your carrier. If you enable it and the carrier doesn't support it, it should simply disappear again once a call is placed.
This is how it should look:

Yup nothing happens when pressed. It doesn't show to turn off after pressed. I made a video but decided not to post it as the phone info shows my phone number.
Had a slip up on the version. Its Nov 1st 2015.
I disabled radio for 15 seconds and enabled and waited 15 seconds. Still wont turn on :/. It was a suggestion by others for the same problem but it doesnt fix it.
I installed trupurexxm. All is well. Dunno what borked the other ROM I was using. It was stock odexed or deodexed cannot recall.
I used to have option in my Note 3 & Zuk Z1 to connect to 3G or 4G only network. it is very useful if you are in low coverage area and your fone continuously connecting to lower technology. Is there any ad-don or way around to get this option ?

very simple !
install 4G Switcher from google play ( only works on samsungs)
open it
select LTE only
its only changes sim1 to lte only.
REMEMBER when you done your job (download) change it again to " LTE / UMTS auto" .
if you choose LTE only , you can't call anyone and nobody can call you !
Anyone know how to enable Wifi calling for this device on T-Mobile US network??
you have the XZ2 Premium on T-Mobile? I was holding off on getting it until someone could confirm it worked. 2 different people on reddit have said 2 different things.
The settings should be here:
Android 8.0
To enable Wi-Fi Calling
Find and tap Phone .
Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) > Settings > Calls > Wi-Fi Calling. If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
Tap the switch beside Off to enable Wi-Fi Calling.

Thx altima! Good to have confirmation on this.
The XZ3 DOES have it for T-Mobile (VoLTE, NOT Wi-Fi Calling though), but the camera is like TWO steps back vs. the XZ2 Premium's. Plus one lens vs. two. I bought one and loved it for 18:9 + OLED screen, but returned it mainly cuz of the camera not being up to par.
XZ3 Premium for me!! lol
