I was trying to recover some deleted files off my daughter's Samsung Core Prime Galaxy phone the other day using Dr. Fone (trial version). I followed the instructions (to enable debugging, etc.) and things seemed to be going fine until "analyzing phone" reached 90%. Then I got an error message saying phone needs to be rooted. When I disconnected the phone, the screen lock had changed from a pattern lock to an alphanumeric password. We don't seem to have that password and trying to translate the pattern to alphanumeric does not seem to work. Does the Dr. Fone app implement a password we don't know about?
I have emailed their tech support trying to get help but have received no reply.
Any advice would be appreciated.

So I upgraded my G900V to Marshmallow and then did a factory reset after I verified it worked because I wanted to start fresh, but now the setup screen says "abnormal factory reset" and is asking for my Samsung Account credentials. When I try to sign in it says "processing failed" every time and won't go past the page...
What I have tried (all have failed):
1. resetting my Samsung Account password (twice now...)
2. a second factory reset
3. using find my mobile to unlock it
4. flashing the stock kitkat firmware (fail with odin)
5. flashing a custom recovery (fail with odin)
6. using the OTG cable method (nothing displays on the screen...)
7. using the sidesync method (nothing displays on the screen...)
8. Called Samsung Support 3 times:
-regular support # - told to call the accounts # during business hours
- accounts # - told that they would have it remotely unlocked by the next morning (of course they don't follow through)
-accounts # - given the runaround treatment for 1.5 hours until a supervisor in the returns department tells me there is nothing more they can do and don't have the capability to service it (apparently it's still under warranty even (not that it matters.....))
So does anyone know a work around? I would really like to get my phone functional again.
The phone is not stolen! If anyone wants proof I am happy to supply multiple clear photos of the phone itself and the imei number, which is clean.
I managed to bypassed it, created samsung account, phone works but i can`t set custom recovery, samsung support doesn`t help either. I have g900p.

Unfortunately mine doesn't have any option close to that. Lucky for me though I think Samsung came around, I tried submitting a repair request for a second time and this time I was approved and it will be covered under warranty.

I'm able to use the downgrade/OTG method to get access to the phone, but then I am in a situation where I can't turn off the Reactivation Lock, it just stays stuck on. What were the ADB commands that you used to turn it off? Thanks for your help.

I can`t turn it off. I even managed to create samsung account but after I enter password nothing happens
UPDATE:
so Samsung not only fixed the problem, but they also restored the phone to like new condition (it was in very beat up but no cracks condition previously) so I really have to give props to them for their amazing repair team. It took about a week total if anyone is wondering.
I have a new method to remove reactivation lock it is confirmed working. It works on Samsung eMMC and Toshiba eMMC.

I put myself into a perdicament and I have been searching high and low to figure this out.
Currently I am samsung Locked out of my phone, I am getting a processing failed error even on a correct samsung account entry. I've tried everything from deleting the account to re-entering the IMEI on the account to register it on the same username and pass. Unfortunately nothing.
Next I tried to bypass the samsung lock by using Root Junky's Method. I couldn't follow it all the way because my phone didn't have one crucial step ( to scan business card button) So I basically got around it by getting into google play and downloading a file explorer and continuing the process. I then downloaded SideSync and sololauncher to have some sort of homepage.
With all that I'm still not able to enter the samsung account info. when you try to add another account it just backs out instantly, and if you try to enter the information on an app that makes you log in, it just immediately closes the app.
Sooo, I've been reading the next possible solution is to get the phone on Kit Kat but I'm honestly having the hardest time doing so.
I dropped the phone down to lollipop and tried rooting but I got stuck on the phone not getting usb debugging dialog to pop up, even though It pops up for my samsung s3 so I know it's not the cord or my computer. This is where I'm stuck at. I have no clue how to drop the phone back down to Kit kat and would love someone to help me out or to just give me a nudge in the right direction.
Currently on pd1 stock samsung s5 vzw.
Thank you guys in advanced!

Thank you for the threads! The bottom one "reactivation lock" one is actually the one I started on, but for some reason, my phone will not for hte life of me bring up the debugging dialog, if i can get the debugging dialog to pop up then everything will be perfect and I can root and continue on from there.. but for some reason the galaxy s5, will not pop up that message, I've flashed ok3, pb1, pd1, and pd4 or whatever the latest one is. Hilariously pd4 actually popped up the debugging dialog to accept permission to my computer.... something that I can't do anything about or do anything with that since you cannot root on pd4. I have a galaxy s3 and that pops up debugging dialog instantly so I know it's neither my cord or my computer. All drivers, programs and adb are installed on my computer.
Those two forum threads are perfect if I can just get debugging to pop up.. it's like once I get the bypass to work for ok3 or pb1, none of the status bar things work, some pop ups work and I think that it is popping up but it's blocking it or something seeing how I'm just by passed through it and not actually done with the setup wizard.
Just need to get my phone authorized instead of unauthorized. the RSA KEY debugging pop up wont pop up at all. I'm not sure if it's because samsung lock basically shuts down part of the phone to be functional and wont let it pop up? I just can't figure it out.
I've been trying to figure this out but so far a no go
To make my guide 100% working I will try again tonight I think

Heya Yeah, I have already done almost all of rootjunky's methods. Got into a a webbrowser and accessed google play, also downloaded that frp work around but i think it's for the google reactivation lock not samsungs reactivation lock. I reboot and it goes right back into the same thing. the frp bypass just makes it so you can reenter your google account info if you are google locked. :/
I have done a lot of reading on this matter, and am just wondering if there is any way still possible to get beyond the FRP?
FWIW, this is a company phone and the former user doesn't remember the password.
I have tried the RootJunky method, but it seems that the Verizon setup wizard differs just enough to make his method ineffective.
I have tried Xboxexpert's method, but the problem with his method is that a prerequisite of USB Debug must be enabled. I don't know how to do this w/o getting access to the settings menu. Also, in his instructions, you must select option 5 at the menu, but only 4 options existed when I was able to get to said menu.
I have tried RealTerm, but I only get errors, despite using copy/paste to ensure the correct syntax is used. I did get Realterm to call the phone once, but like many others, the follow-up screen was not as depicted - no options whatsoever; just the flashing call length.
I have tried flashing a different ROM, but discovered the ROM is separate from FRP and doesn't help.
Currently, PI3 is installed. I tried to flash back to PE1, but fails in Odin.
Anyone have any ideas?
We have several other S7 that are untouched. Is there a way to make an image from a non-FRP-bricked phone, and then deploy it to the FRP-bricked phone?
I could be wrong, but isn't the password the person's current Google password? I just had to give someone my Google password because I sold him my old phone on Swappa and it was FRP. Did it over the phone and then changed my password immediately after he got access to the phone. If this is a different kind of FRP, just ignore.
Hello.
I have a serious problem.
tl;dr:
I forgot my pattern lock combination and I need my messages so I don't want to factory reset. Is there any other way?
Long story:
So I've forgotten my pattern lock combination and I have a job interview tomorrow at the address I received in a message.
I can't unlock my phone. I didn't write down the address anywhere else. And if I try to factory reset my phone it will get rid of all my messages.
So far I've tried:
dr.phonw - but for some reason it doesn't work on p9 lite
I've read online you can delete the password file for the pattern lock and it will unlock, I've tried using usb cable to access my files but I can't access the phone while it's locked.
I've tried installing a file manager from a sd card in recovery mode, but p9 lite doesn't have that function.
Do you have any other ideas I could try.
It might seem like a strange question, but I'm really panicking right now, the job interview is tomorrow and it's really important to me.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hey guys
Im in a bit of a trouble.
Sitting in front of my dads phone trying to unlock it.
Cant ask my dad anymore. He died few days ago. To get access to his password safe i really need to unlock the phone. He stored all of his onlinebanking accounts, insurance data and stuff there. Need to pays all his debts but i have no clue about what to pay and what is paid.
Already found his secret note about the master password of keepass but not the unlock pattern.
Factory reset is of course not an option.
Any chance that i can skip the pattern and unlock it with the PIN?
Its also still connected to his google account if this would help.
Bootloader locked, no root, no twrp.
Found a thread from 2013 that says i can boot to twrp without flashing to delete the pin data but im not sure if it works on this one.
Can you access your dad Google account from a computer? if so, you can use Google Device Manager to remove the PIN/password of the device, but I'm not sure if doing this will erase the data. Also, you should contact Google for a solution, considering that isn't unauthorized access, and have a good reason behind. There is a form to contact them. Sorry for your loss.
Hi,
Thank you for your condolences.
I tried to lock the phone but it wont let me change the password.
There is a message. You already have a screenlock on the phone so it wont be changed.
The link you gave me also only let me get access to the account but not the phone.
Any other ideas how to get access?
