Odin freezing when flashing stock firmware - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Anyone came across this before?
latest version of odin, latest BTU firmware, but it when I add the AP file it just freezes and stops responiing.
I'm trying to download another firmware in case it was a bad download

u first must add all the bl/ap and all the required for the stock firmware and then plug the phone in the computer.
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers mobile app

yes that's what I'm doing, when I add the AP it just freezes the program-doesn't affect it if phones plugged in or not

first put the ap in then the rest.
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers mobile app

still freezes,if I change the .tar.md5 to just .tar it worls ok-but not sure if I can flash that?

How about standard actions on issues like changing usb cable, changing usb port, restarting computer / phone and granting administration rights to Odin?

tried all that's thanks dude

Is it freezing when flashing AP or when loading it into Odin? When adding AP to Odin it takes some time to load it into the system and can make Odin fail to respond for some time. Perhaps you need to be more patient.

It will freeze when you put the AP file because the file size is big and ODIN needs to analyze it first. Just wait a bit it will work.

That was it,thanks guys!

USB problem SGSII, HELP!

Hi everyone, I have a serious problem with my galaxy s2.
Two weeks ago I released my phone by odin, everything worked fine until I put CyanogenMod, my galaxy is not detected by any pc,it looks like the USB drive had been revoked, I have tried all ways (mass storage mode, activating and disabling USB debugging ...). I can not connect my galaxy to the computer in any way to recognize it. I have also tried several roms from ClockworkMod Kitchens. I'd go back to official rom but if the galaxy is not detected by my pc I can not (only by ClockworkMod).
If it's worth, when I go into recovery mode, I get: USB unmount
Is there any way to install a clean rom from Rom manager?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English
Your USB ports might be broken, i had that problem on my laptop and changed the whole usb board just try on some other pc, laptop. Im sure it would work just install usb drivers from here http://www.mediafire.com/?1c3ca4117bm43n6
U dont need Kies. Im sure odin will recognize ur phone after u do this

Thanks for your help, but the drivers are properly installed, the problem is when I connect the mobile to the PC, it does not detect it in any way, I've looked at system / file manager, when I connect the phone to the pc, it does not show anything. Before switching to CyanogenMod everything worked properly

Why are you using Rom Manager?
It's not compatible with SGSII and does more damage than good.
You can try to flash VillainROM via recovery to see if it works for you, just do a factory reset before flashing it.

Yes, the phone load normally, even I get mpt-usb initialized but when trying to access does nothing. And if I try to do it in mass storage mode, it does nothing.
I'm desperate...

guarantee your USB charging port is bad. do a search for just that and there is a thread with about 100 posts on it.

In CyanogenMod after you connect your phone via USB you have to lower the notifications , and select Enable USB storage, and then click OK ( or something like that , I probably forgot )

Oki what if done, go to Odin, select 16GB PIT FILE and at PDA the Gingerbread 2.3.5 file. Then i selected the re-partition box, reset f. time box and autoreboot and flashet it.
Am i at fully stock unrooted now? can someone confirm that?

Hang at boot when installing third party launcher

Whenever I install a third party launcher and reboot, the phone always hangs at the OS bootup screen. Only if I pull the battery and reboot, the phone boots into the toast where you can choose your preferred launcher. This story repeats itself at every reboot and with every third party launcher so far, except for Nova. This may be because I had Nova already installed when the trouble began, but I still can uninstall and reinstall Nova without issues. Any ideas? Running German MEA on a Dutch unbranded and rooted 9505.
BTW I already did a reflash of the firmware.

Will that erase all data on my internal sd? With my previous device (the s1) this wasn't the case, but I'm not so sure about the s4.
I think the launchers I tried are compatible, otherwise there would have been many others with this issue. When searching Google I found no signs of that.

So what's the question here? How to proceed?
I'd say: connect to a PC and ADB Sideload a new rom onto it.

Thank you very much.. I didn't know about this features!!!

I9505 showing as i9505g. Not detected by PC. Help!

I flashed my SGS4 i9505 with new firmware (wrong firmware possibly).
It now shows as a GT-i9505G in About Phone.
Can't get PC to detect phone, in keis, Odin or in device manager.
Have installed the correct drivers, tried different PC, different USB cables, factory reset.
Phone is working apart from random reboots (every 30 minutes or so).
It is no longer rooted so I can't install a custom recovery and can't root it as PC not detecting it.
I'm thinking its fudged and considering getting a new phone but thought I'd see if anyone here had an idea on how to fix it.
Thanks in advance.
(If there's any other info you need, please ask)

Are you sure your usb port isn't damaged? It should give a sign of life when connected.
How did you flash the firmware? Through Odin?
USB port was working okay when I flashed it. It charges okay.
Flashed it through custom recovery but phone is back to stock recovery now

Well then it's for sure one of these things:
- Something with the drivers on your pc.
- A faulty usb port
- Wrong usb port
- A faulty cable.
Your pc should detect it when connected in download mode.
ps how did you go back to stock recovery when you couldn't flash it? A nandroid will not bring your stock recovery back.
I've tried reinstalling drivers.
Tried different cables and even different PC.
After flashing it had stock recovery.
Can get it to boot to twrp.

Phone also randomly reboots after flashing iy which makes me think it's not a faulty port or driver issue but a software fault on the phone.
