Hi everyone
I hope someone can help me. I have a Note 4 N910W8 running rooted stock ROM - Android 5.1.1
Sometimes I lose root.. Titanium takes a while to request root and times out. Other root apps complain the phone isn't rooted. It's always resolved with a reboot.
Does anyone know what's causing this?

I consider myself fairly savvy with root but this problem has me troubled. Apparently there is a known issue with Towelroot on V900 phones with kernel 3.4. That is what is says anyway on the Towelroot thread. Anyway my experience is this: When I root with Towelroot my Note 3 screen freezes randomly. Sometimes it will reboot after 30 seconds and sometimes I need to pull the battery. I had another Note 3 that I enjoyed root with great success. But last Thursday I dropped that phone on some rocks and had to get a new one. Thank the gods for a warranty.
So if indeed Towelroot has a known issue with the 3.4 kernel is there an alternative way to gain root? If I were to install Towelroot with the know freeze issues, and flash a ROM will that solve the problem? Or are there any alternatives?
Thanks
Hi guyz.
I need the attention of the developers who are working or willing to work on the root of Note 3 (N9005) at the stretch of not tripping knox.
I have been able to root Note 3 (N9005) on Android 5.0 Lollipop but for some reason the SuperSU 2.48 BETA needs some rework. Once an app is granted Interactive shell, it keeps giving up these pop ups from time to time and the app gets Frozen.
If someone can make a HOTFIX or something for this I would help in any way I can.
This root is dependent on a Pre-rooted 4.4.2 (Updated to Last release of KitKat) then Upgraded to Lollipop via Mobile ODIN Pro and preserving the root.
The binary has ended up resulting in 2 different scenarios for me.
1). The Update Binary prompt gets stuck and there is no way to fix it.
2). The Update Binary prompt works 100% but the Interactive shell gets broken or non-responsive.
My opinion: Requesting immediate changes/workarounds for SuperSU shell integeration and access.
If anyone can come up with some kind of fix or workaround, I would appreciate it.
Took me 2 weeks to make the root stay on Android Lollipop 5.0 N9005 LTE.
Finally got the courage to have another go after nearly bricking my near new phone. Root checker confirmed access granted
Rooted with odin 3.10 and CF auto
SM G900I
Android: 5.0 lollipop
SuperSu 2.45
Baseband: G900IDVU1BOD2
Build: LRX21T.G900IDVU1BOET1
As i dont know much about anything can someone give me some advice. The main reason i rooted was for control over app permissions and privacy and i like the idea of customising stuff. Also im not too keen on rooting my phone every time it wants to update. Any advice on what to research and where to start learning
Edit: can anyone recommend a privacy app/s , I want to use xprivacy but not sure how to proceed installing xposed . Im gonna wait till there is an easy straight forward solution, is there anything else that will block permissions etc is comprehensive and easy to install?
Thanks
Hi All,
I currently have a Note 4 910G that is still 5.1.1 with no OTA updates available.
I have been having dramas with my phone rebooting sometimes every 2 minutes, laggy and generally unresponsive.
I have backed up the phone the best I can as its stock and not rooted. However I was going to factory reset to see if it fixed the issues I am having. I have decided that root and flash may be a better option though as back up is horrible on android and also some added features would be handy (titanium back up and tasker).
My question is I am not 100% across what exact files to use as everything I find is for a different version. I found the CF auto root application, however, I am nervous that the kernel that is listed on their website is based on 6.0.1. I am finding it hard to find the 5.1.1 N910G Kernel to use instead
Will this cause an issue or does someone have the 5.1.1 kernel I can grab prior to flashing.
I hope this makes sense and any help would be much appreciated. Sorry if this has been covered, I have been searching around for a while and couldn't find this specific enquiry.
T337A Temp root, boot(LP fix).tar, & official 5.1.1 firmware. Help w/permanent root?
I just thought that all of this might help a permanent root be developed. I have no idea how to work the magic that developers here perform all the time. I just thought I would post this information if it helps to get a permanent root on the T337A running 5.1.1, and politely ask that if anyone out there is able to check this out, I would greatly appreciate it. So, here's my b.s. :
TechNyne66 posted that Kingroot apk temporarily roots T337A and knox is not tripped:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/att-tab-4-8-t337a-temp-root-t3301345
I've rooted it this way, but reboot softbricks the tablet. It can be rebooted with the boot(LP fix).tar via odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/rooted-nk2-att-t377a-t2992639
This will boot it back up with a custom logo and root is essentially removed.
In my experience, after all this has happened, the battery life sucks.
Now the 5.1.1 firmware is available here, to fully return to stock:

Just throwing it out there. Maybe people have seen all of this and it doesn't help at all. It just sounded like it could be toyed with, now that there's an official firmware for 5.1.1 available. Anyone I could approach with this to ask for help? I don't want to go bugging people though...
If you read all this shiz, thank you.
Nobody? Is there anyone who could help, or direct me to someone who can possibly help with rooting the T337A with this information?
