Hi, I have recently update my S7 Edge to the latest version (August patch) and my push notification start to fail.
I have downloaded an app called "Push Notification Test" and it show that a "X" mark on the Register for Push Notification.
Is my phone not registered for push notification? How do I register/enable it? Any help to solve this problem for push notification? Thank you for your help.

You can try to reinstall the Samsung Push Service App, maybe something went wrong while your update..
It's available in GPlay
I have tried doing that but it is still the same. Any help on this?
Do a factory reset.....
I have managed to solve this by wiping data and cache for Google Play Services and Google Services Framework. After that I remove my Google account and reboot the phone and re-link back my Google account. Now everything works correctly. Thank you for the help.

I have two successful download notifications that are stuck in the notification bar. Initially they were apps I downloaded from market but that didn't install properly. I can clear these notifications but they always come back everytime I download something. How can I get rid of these? Any ways to clear somewhere the temp folder where apps are downloaded? Thanks for the help
Please someone help, I can't figure out how to fix this.
I can tell you how to keep them from coming back, click on the download notification, and then click cancel download at the market screen...(ive been having the same problem)... I just cancel download and the download again, the second or third try they generaly come through no problem...
Actually I don't need to reinstall the apps. They are installed. But the notifications of the first unsuccessful attempt won't go away. Your suggestion didn't help. Thanks anyway for trying. Other ideas?
Hello,
I just noticed 1 hour ago I have 4.3 OTA update for my Nexus 10. However the update has been failed, due to vfxsound mod as far as I understand. I deactivated this app but I cant see OTA update again if I check the system updates manually it states that your system is current(4.2.2). What can I do to have this system update notification again?
My configuration:
rooted (supersu)
CWM recovery
Thank you.
Same here!

I can't update to 4.3 because of the same reason.
In my case, I installed both vfx and vhifi.
I deactivated and turned both of them into safe mode and tried to flash the update with stock recovery.
However, I still got "assert failed: apply_patch_check system/vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf"
There is a way to get the OTA update back, but I repeatedly failed, and ended up with error.
Someone please help us!
This happens because those files have been modified and are no longer the originals. Extract the files it is having issues with from the 4.2.2 factory image, replace them and try again, or just flash system.img from the factory 4.2.2 image and run the OTA again.
Edit: Also, to get the OTA notification again, go to Settings>Apps>All and force stop "Google Services Framework" then "Clear Data". Immediately return to the "About" screen and check for a system update. If any popups come up regarding allowing location services, choose "No" or otherwise don't allow it.
While the system update downloads, remove your google account, and re-add it to avoid any issues with sync, etc. on your google account. Keep in mind if you use 2-factor authentication via google, you'll need to add a new application password for your tablet.
I succesfully upgraded the system. As you said I replaced these file with the original ones. Now It works fine. The only problem is mx player doesnt work. I think they will update it soon.

Did you mean, "phone"? I can only speak for how this behaves on the Nexus 10. Also, if you enable location services (sometimes it tries when the google services framework starts back up) and you allow it, the OTA doesn't seem to show up (at least not for me, perhaps it's region-based?).
I had to redo mine several times while I replaced system files that had been modified, so I know it works if it's done the way I described. 60% of the time, it worked every time.
Also, try removing your custom recovery. I don't know how this affects things for the OTA but it's a factor I didn't have to contend with.
I'm pretty sure he meant tablet. I'm having the exact same problem on my N10.

I have an icon stuck in my task bar prompting me to install the Lollipop update as well as regularly showing me full screen prompts when I unlock the screen that I have to keep cancelling. I don't want to upgrade to Lollipop at the moment as the phone is working fine as is and there's a couple of apps I use regularly that don't work with Lollipop so I'm trying to find how to cancel this prompt as it's getting irritating.
I found some advice that suggested disabling notifications on the Google Play Services would work but it hasn't, I've also tried disabling notifications on the app that is generating the alerts but all options for it are greyed out. The phone is a stock N910F that isn't rooted.
Thanks,
John
The only solution I know of is:
1) update
2) downgrade
3) disable the automatic update feature
Thanks for the reply, I woke up yesterday morning to find the phone had upgraded itself to Lollipop (I'm not sure if there's a timeout on the prompts or I did it in my sleep) so will just have to make do now.
John
Since you have to do a factory reset when downgrading, be sure to backup your data.
I have a rooted T-mobile LG G2 running Android 5.0.2. A couple days ago, (Oct 20 2015?) I got a notification (a box with a down arrow in it) that says T-Mobile has released a system update, for added security. It's about 51MB and I don't see anything online when I search to see what this update is. Because I've removed all bloatware, I was also surprised to see this and wondered what app this update was coming from. I just found out it's "Google Play Services" so it goes away if I prevent notifications.
1. How can I find out what this update is? I don't want to lose root access.
2. The update fails to install anyways. It seems to restart my phone into recovery mode, then just pops up later again. Can it even be installed? If so, how?
3. Can I disable this "updater" from Google Play Services without disabling or uninstalling the entire thing? I need gmail contacts sync...etc.
Thank you in advance for any and all info on this!
Hello,
Does anyone else has this issue? This morning tried to access Bixby and it asks me to update it but I get the error shown in the screenshot below.
Anyone else has this issue? Anyone knows how to fix it?
Please help
Does it still work even if the update failed? Like can you still use bixby for whatever it can do?
Absolutely not, it always asks me to update it, then the update fails as shown in the screenshot.
Tried clearing cache, even uninstalled it, tried to install the previous version but it didn't install.
Anyone has this problem?

Still the same error: "Couldn't update Bixby"
Anyone else has this problem and found a fix ?
previus version working fine, when update bixby I have same error
Without having to restore to factory settings is there an way to completely uninstall this non working version?
The same problem here update big stap from 1.3 to 1.9
I just installed bixby v1.3.23 and it works fine so far. But I also understand sammy has very inconsistent update periods for apps. I'll keep you posted if it ever changes when it forces an update rendering it useless.
5 days later and bixby still works for me.
Anyone found an solution?

Try to download from APKmirror that version and try to install, but after you go to settings/apps/Hello Bixby and delete cach, then restart your phone.
Done that, and still not working
I did this to fix my bixby home not updating.
First I downloaded and installed Samsung's personalization service client from the APKMirror.
* http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsun...sonalization-service-client-1-1-01-0-release/
I then downloaded then installed all five bixby apps from APKMirror.
*http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/bixby/bixby-1-0-01-102-release/
*http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/hello-bixby/hello-bixby-1-9-38-3-release/
*http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsun...ixby-service/bixby-service-1-0-00-25-release/
This fixed my update issue and bixby home* is working great for me once again.
Also I've read just installing the first app and clearing cache in bixby will.work but I wanted to make sure I had the most up to date apps.
I've installed bixby & voice activation isn't working can u advise
By voice activation you mean you could use bixby like ok Google
