what is the custom rom you used for that
The LUA-U22 may be the 3G model, with the older chipset. That's why it may work. So far there is no known method to root the 4G version (LUA-L22).

Yess mine the 3G model one . Hmm maybe so ?
I was able to flash a working TWRP recovery into the LUA-L01 model but my problem is getting it to root.
Anytime I flash SuperSu, the phone gets stuck at boot animation. I have tried almost all versions of SuperSu....

Hi guys, I found a new method to have a fully functional root with SuperSU instead of Kingroot.
1- Download Kingroot 4.5 from https://sites.google.com/site/androidxdacom/file/Kingroot_V4.5.0.722.apk?attredirects=0
2- Install app and root the phone with it
3- Install Super-Sume from Play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=darkslide.com.supersume), open it and click on the button with the white android: the app removes all Kingroot apps and installs SuperSU.
4- Reboot and enjoy!
If Kingroot app is still present after reboot, just uninstall it by Titanium Backup or another uninstaller; you can also uninstall Super-Sume after the work is done!
SOME ADVICES (carefully pasted and adapted from Super-Sume app description........)
- This is the process that you MUST follow in order for this to be successful !!!
- Once your device is rooted with Kingroot install Super-Sume, do not install it prior !!
- If you have TEMP root OR are on Kingroot PRIOR TO 4.5 you will need to unroot your device first, re-root with KingRoot 4.5 and then install Super-Sume AFTER you are rooted and run it.
- If you are on KingRoot 4.5 or higher you should be all set to just install it and run it at any time after root.

Supersu is well known by all apps that need root: for example if you have Kingroot and open Titanium Backup it says that you'll may have problems with Kingroot...this not happens with Supersu.
Supersume uninstalls all apps installed by Kingroot, even Purify. If you don't like Purify, but you desire to keep root by Kinguser, you can uninstall it manually!

With my method you can keep the phone original without heavy modification such as recovery installation. However thanks mate!
Just to be clear, does this unlock the bootloader? Sorry for asking, but I'm a total n00b when it comes to things like this, and I really don't want to void my warranty while rooting

I just purchased the new Galaxy Grand Prime for Straight Talk, and have been unable to find a custom recovery that will work. I think i may have used the wrong one because when i boot into recovery it simply says "recovery" in yellow at the top left corner then shuts off. I'd like to try and flash the stock recovery but haven't been able to find the recovery.img file to do it.
If i take out the battery and replace it, the phone will boot fine, but i fear i may have f'ed up the recovery.img.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I have this model and cant find anything on it either!!
Sm s920l root
Just got the same phone at Walmarts Black Friday and have been scouring the Web about root.Just today OneClickRoot posted that it is now able to provide root access. I've downloaded the apk, but am going to wait to see how others fair.
Well, the phone IS rootable. Kingroot apk's v4.5.0 and higher can do it. But I distrust kingroot and used SuperSUme Pro to remove and switch me over to the superior SuperSU.
Sm s920l root with Kingroot
I rooted my last phone (Galaxy Core Prime from ST) with Kingroot and had many problems. Just wondering if you're having any issues. One Click Root claims s920l is root able with their apk,but I didn't have any luck.
I didn't have any issues with kingroot other than trust issues. It did grant me root access to my device. I was however very relieved to get supersu-me pro to remove it and install SuperSU.
Received your reply.
Ended up using the latest Kingroot and have root.Tried using Super Sume, but I lose root until I reinstall Kingroot.Hmmmm.....
I was only able to get super-su me to remove kingroot v4.5.0. 4.5.0 can root this phone, so you can remove root and root with it, then install super-su me and immediately run it. Worked for me.
Since rooting,I can send text, but not receive. Did a factory reset, but still have the same issue.

Having purchased the same phone, I'm going to try oneclickroot and report back so you guys know how it went.
Edit: oneclickroot lies about root capabilities, now attempting kingroot
I had no luck with One Click, either.First tried latest Kingroot, but after applying SuperSume, I'd lose root.Kingroot 4.5 was able to be removed with SuperSume and SuperSume binaries installed.

SuperSU isn't working great for our device for root access so that's why it's stuck where it's at. Read up here http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...rom-stock-rooted-debloated-x1575-6-0-t3262242 and restore your phone and install one of these backups and do not use SuperSU to root for now. Sure does! I also just read that... But this way is a safer bet for people that don't wanna mess with flashing multiple files. I myself just want a systemless root with stock recovery which I have obtained finally. Problem is LOTS of posts in these forums are giving different instructions and there is no clear method for everyone unless you end up reading the proper one first.

Both of these are known to fail against this device, although I attempted to root with these to no effect.
Looks like the only sane way to root this device currently is via the pre-rooted option with Odin.
