Honor 5X - Smart Groups - Honor 5X Guides, News, & Discussion

Smart groups is one of the most useful features of Honor 5X to synchronize the contacts.
Now with Groups option in the contacts app, we can create groups that make easier to merge different contacts into the single group. In addition, Contacts saved with same company name will be grouped automatically.
To create a contact group in Honor 5X
1. Open your Contacts apps and select Groups.
2. To create a new group select New and type the group name.
3. Add contact list by selecting Add members option.
To delete a group in Honor 5X - Open Groups from Contact apps, touch the Delete groups option and select the group you need to delete.
Note: This feature is available only after the EMUI4.0 (Marshmallow) Update

Can't see any contact groups

How can I see groups of contacts in the N1 contacts app?
On the Hero there is a tab for groups but I can't see one anywhere on the N1. Neither are they visible when I want to send a text message or an email to a group of contacts.
I can see the menu option where I can add and remove the google groups from my google account but this does not fix the problem.
Am I missing something?

[Q] problems with contacts

I cant seem to save a new contact, no matter which way i save it either by adding contacts from a new phone call or entering a new contact, when I first save it, all the previous call numbers from that contact change to the contacts name then within a few minutes it reverts back again and if i search for the new contact it has disappeared.
any help would be appreciated.
Im using the generic contact address book
Did you have the right sync groups selected? when creating a contact you can assign the contact to group. If this group is not synced this will not shown as a new contact on your phone. When the contact is not assigned to group you must select "sync all contacts". this will include also your mail-contacts from google.

Ability to send vCards in Cyanogenmod 11

CM needs to create the ability to send and receive vCards via SMS. This is very important especially when you use your phone alot for business purposes. If I want to import a contact into my Outlook I can't. I have to manually type it in. Can't CM install this feature?

If you install Google Hangouts and use that as your SMS app, you can do it. In People, select a contact, then go to the menu and choose Share > Hangouts. Choose a 'hangout' (basically an existing chat thread), or tap 'new message' to enter a phone number or select a recipient. The contact details will then appear as a .vcf attachment.
You can send the .vcf by other means - by email, by Bluetooth, to your Dropbox, etc - using the same Share command.
