My divice is already up to date. I receive firmware updates frequently. Is there a fix for this?

Yes 1 of the 2 sim is a Verizon sim card. Before I even installed the verizon sim card I was getting that notification.

I was getting that update pop up pretty often too on Verizon.
I disabled the system update app in apps and rebooted. No more updates are popping up. I'll enable the app when some updates are released.
On Verizon too, used to get that pop-up often as well, and did the same as the above poster and disabled the System Update app.

I don't see an app called "system update". Do you have to download it?

Does anyone know what this update is all about? Wouldn't want to update anything that might make it difficult for me to root my phone later.

Just go ahead and install, these updates don't patch the OS if that's what your asking

It enforces security policy's , like policies in Windows (if you're familiar with that)
Here can you read more about it

Received this notification for my note 4 as well today and I'm hesitant to install it.
I still haven't installed it.
I would not update until I see some benefit from it
Just checked my apps in the market to update and this is no longer listed.

What does that have do with anything?
I've seen this message a few times, too, but not recently. No idea where it was coming from.
Do you have stuff disabled with Package Disabler Pro? I wonder if some Sammy tracking bloat is trying to phone home, but it's not working.

Yeah, not sure why. I've noticed it only when I have the encryption protection password setting on. In which I noticed it takes like 30 seconds from boot for data to turn on. Maybe something that needs to connect on boot isn't able to??? When I press retry it fails.

Only thing disabled through PDP is a T-Mobile tracker but I've disabled that on all my other devices in the past.

Yeah. I knew it could be disabled somehow, but didn't know the name of the app.
TiBackup saved my ass so many times.
still not happy with the phone, but I didn't have to pay full retail for it so its whatever. better than my last handset for sure tho.
I'm sure most of us knew this was coming https://www.engadget.com/2016/11/04/software-update-will-annoy-galaxy-note-7-owners-into-a-return/
I have my updates on "manual" and I was able to deflect the attempt that still managed to almost start. I ended u hitting later. I was wondering if anyone knew how to disable these updates from popping up via Root explorer which I think I seen before.
Thanks

They got me. I stopped the update but when I restarted my phone it was bootlooping. I cannot find the PHE (last "green battery" firmware) update anywhere. Looks like I'm returning my phone tomorrow. It has been a good fight.
That sucks. That same thing happened to me when I got my second Note 7 and the update installed on its own. I think we'll all have to give in at some point. This waterproof body and camera, better radio and a bunch of other crap has me refusing to give in. My rooted Note 3 is waiting..
After installing and running the disabler app I noticed a "Setup Wizard" app icon in my app drawer. Wth is it? Don't remember seeing this prior and uninstall is blocked.
Anybody know if rooting Note 7 will help get rid of the 60% limiter and also all the popup wanting you to return your Note 7 if so instructions please.
Hi
Updated my 6P yesterday with the newest security patch and the phone shows, next to the celluar data symbol, a crossed over symbol for what looks like a sd or a sim card. How can I remove this symbol? I run stock rom without root.

Try adb sideload the most recent stock OTA.
Can you post a screenshot so we can see what the symbol looks like?
I bet you just need to reenter your apn.. Just a theory.

Did you try what I said?
Did you try taking out the sim and putting it back in? Hopefully you have since this would be the most feasible solution
