Sorry, but you can't shoot 4K videos even the camera is of 21 megapixels, as the processor, which is Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, doesn't support 4K shooting. However, it can shoot videos at 1080p at 30 fps.....
Hope you liked the clarification....

[Q] How to play 1080p HD videos

Hi,
Did anyone here managed to play HD videos of 1080p or 720p format? I only managed to play 360p on my phone.
Not possible..Im mean they will play in Rockplayer 1.5.5 ARm6...but will lag sufficiently and not allow you to enjoy movie smoothly...
I think about 620 p should be fine in Rockplayer..or yxplayer...not above that..you will have to resize them...
Even 720p is quite laggy with rock player. Processor is just not fast enough
Why would you want to when the screen doesn't have the resolution to show any difference?

@bullchicken: it's just that my friends had gave me lots of 1080p HD MVs but I couldn't played it. He is able to play all HD videos in his Samsung Galaxy though. Maybe you're right due to legend processor limitation but i'm wondering if there is any customized/tweaked ROM which able to support it.

1080p Video Playback on xperia play

Hi I have recently tried to play 1080p movie using mxplayer on my xperia play. It is running the krisdee nxt lite rom v1.3. I have tried overclocking to 1.4ghz but that didnt work. Can someone help me on this? Thanks
Why playing a 1080p movie, our pkay doens't even have this resolution. If you played the video it will be laggy.
You could try reencode the movie to 480p. If you don't care about quality, Total Video Converter is basic enough. (used it waaay back at 2009, not sure how is it now)
MediaCoder also seems to be able to do the job albiet slightly more advanced.
You could also stream the video using Emit or something similar. (used it quite a while back but didn't work as expected)
Hope it helps.
Hi thanks for the quick replies, at the moment I convert my movies from 1080p to 720p, as most of my movies are blue ray rips. They work perfectly at 720p. I tried 1080p but they are jerky and the audio is not clear. To save conversion I was wondering if there was anything I could do to get 1080p working smoothly. Thanks
As mentioned in the previous post, you could try Emit.
Look up google play store and see what other similar apps there are under their recommendation.
I'm sure there's something for this requirement.
Anyone have any more ideas?
hehe
xperia play does not support 1080P playback
The Xperia Play screen resolution is 854 x 480, so 1080p are useless
If you tried to play 1080p video, wouldn't there be black lines across the top and bottom?

Nope, as the Play's screen is 16:9 just like videos, so no black bars unless it's part of the video itself.
I never could get 1080p videos to run smoothly on mine, so I just used Handbrake to reencode it to 480p, as the screen is only 480p anyway.

Have you tried updating? Maybe the video isn't available at resolution above 720p
I have lates version and videos mostly 1080p /1440p on desktop computer I can watch same videos on nexus 7 1440p but not on note 4
Yep, Google has again done something to stop us viewing 1080P and 1440p videos.
I read in another thread on here that its something to do with Lollypop and Google are only enabling 1080p and 1440p on Lollypop

60 FPS Recording

Has anyone been able to record video in 60 fps at 1080p on the Moto X Pure Edition? It is listed under the specs on the Motorola website but I've seen multiple posts that the 1080p videos are in 30fps

Can the video camera be modded to 1080P 60FPS

I guess it's a pretty simple question but...
I'm sick of locked Samsung bootloaders so I was going to jump to a Moto X Style. The only catch is I need FHD 60fps recording, I take a lot of video at junior hockey games. Searches have indicated that there was some initial confusion in the specs and the stock camera only records FHD at 30fps. I also saw there were people saying that the hardware was capable and it might be possible to edit setting in xml files to get 60fps.
So has anyone gotten this to work or is there any other way to get FHD 60fps out of this device?
