As someone who has little experience in hardware hacking, I'm curious to know how we can improve or even replace the existing speaker? The stock speaker is painful to listen to and more than 50% volume due to harsh upper-mids and distortion. There is also a significant lack of lower end frequencies leading to an empty and often harsh sound.
I've tried playing with an EQ but unfortunately, reducing the mids or increasing lows results in a reduction of volume. It seems as though the stock speaker is incapable of producing lower frequencies and improvement would require hardware modification. Does anyone have experience in this field? I know the people at HeadFi.org often add a putty like substance around drivers to modify the sound; I wonder if this is something we can try. Ideally, I'd love to find a way to completely replace the stock speaker with something commercially available but obviously that would be rather complex.

I'm going to do some research into speaker and speaker enclosure modification but, in the meantime, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
umi super phone has nearly same hardware maybe that speakers are better
Here's a link to the UMI Super forum, that discusses mods to the speaker settings using Engineering Mode.
They may work on the Elephone as well.

Hi everyone
I got a defy+ two weeks ago and it was fine until a few days, it completely lost it, it keeps connecting to either car dock or dock media station all by it self, installed various roms, returned to stock 2.3.6 no way it just got mad, the screen keeps glowing even when nobody touches it, now even the phone's speaker (not the loud speaker) doesn't work in calls anymore, it thinks that the headphones are connected, and also the music doesn't get through the loud speaker, im just fed up, I have downloaded several apps to prevent the phone from entering dock mode with no success, as its a hardware problem. its the magnetic field sensor that went mad, I have no choice but to open the handset and give the sensor IC some heat (I'm very skillful in such things), whats your opinion guys? Does anybody have a picture of the motherboard to appoint me to the sensor IC please?
Please reply as its the only phone I currently own :crying: and in such country there is no warranty no matter what
I solved the problem by applying heat to the AKM ak8973 magnetic field sensor IC using a a high precision heat gun and a bit of soldering past and the phone seems to operate flawlessly now. after searching a little bit it seems that a wide range of Android based Motorola phones suffer from the same problem including Atrix and Razr so this may be the solution, I have attached an image showing the AKM chip that needs to be heated up

Gentlemen,
My friend has an original, unrooted S4.
I am waiting for the exact model number, but I believe it's the i9500.
She mentioned that when she plays music from her phone to her car stereo, the volume is often (but not always) low, and yes, phone volume is cranked up all the way.
When this happens, she has to raise the car stereo volume considerably in order to be able to listen.
So far, she's tried two different cables. Also, she's currently driving a dealer issued loaner and observed the same issue.
I've read the S4 FAQ and performed a Search. I couldn't find anything.
Have you guys ever heard of a similar issue with the S4?
Thank you in advance.

but did you try to install wanam xposed and then you go to Sound and there you can change some sound things, I'll screenshot it.
I don't know if it would work but you could try, and try to download a other music player.

Sound
That's what I use and it is great (I also use DFX Player Pro).
Same here. Phone is set to level 15 and usually have the car stereo set to 30 out of max of 35. Always been like this even when I had a S2 and S3 as well.

Bluetooth speaker which is worth buying. HV-SK466BT is a small and fashionable designed Bluetooth speaker. Initially when you unwrap the box you cannot imagine how valuable this may perhaps be considering the price and it’s size.
The speaker comes with a 3.0 Bluetooth technology, this Bluetooth can be used for calling use as well, other than this for super quick and easy this phone supports NFC technology too.
The weight of this speaker is neither heavy nor very light and it’s small size allows you to carry this Bluetooth speaker anyplace you go, coming with a rubbery finish substance which gives you a good feel when you touch it plus protects it if dropped. It fell by mistake from me and was okay with no single scratch. This speaker has a good bass and extremely loud and clear sound quality which in this price range is not easy to get.
One of the best feature is the calling element, having an internal microphone it allows you to answer your phone calls too, so everyone can hear and talk. Last but not the least the battery life of this is phone is 7 to 8 hours which is more than at least what I expected.

looks nice but i am looking for one without battery. they seem increasingly hard to find. currently using a creative d80 in one room but want something different in other room so i can tell them apart
I have the following problem:
I have bought 2 nexus 4 and combined those two to 1 working N4.
I'm getting complaints from people that they can't hear me to well.
We I put it on speaker they can understand me perfectly.
Would this be a hardware or software issue?
I'm running M915A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.98 hybrid radio and Nexus 5 experience Rom.

The only way you can find out is by flashing a completely new ROM (after you backup, of course) with a full wipe, and trying to call someone. If it works, then it's software. If not, it's hardware.
My take on it is that it's software; microphone is working while on speaker..
deleted.
Ok, I found the cruelpit.
it was the usb port board that was faulty.
I ordered one from ebay because my port was broken, however it is missing something on the mic.

The bad one doesn't have a black film over the speaker.
I replaced the usb port from an other n4 and sound quality is back to normal.
Something has changed and now all audio (Bluetooth and speakers) have gotten really quite, about half as loud at max volume, maybe a bit less.
Is there a setting somewhere that controls this, or anywhere i should check?
Running stock except that it is rooted with Magisk, have the latest update (it might have started happening since that update, but I'm not entirely sure)

Normally max volume would blow my ear drums, but I'm barely hearing anything at max now :/
Interestingly, the instructions given here seemed to help with my Bluetooth audio:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-can-i-increase-bluetooth-volume.3359321/post-83685915
But when they are disconnected and connected again, the volume level is different :/ and also, each ear is a different volume (1more true wireless connect as two audio devices)
@mattisdada Hi! As you've posted in the Oneplus 6 forum but your thread title states "6T" just the question if your device is a OP 6T? If latter is the case, do you want me to move your thread to the Oneplus 6T forum?
Oh, sorry, that'd be lovely if you could
