Bad call quality, ok on speaker - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the following problem:
I have bought 2 nexus 4 and combined those two to 1 working N4.
I'm getting complaints from people that they can't hear me to well.
We I put it on speaker they can understand me perfectly.
Would this be a hardware or software issue?
I'm running M915A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.98 hybrid radio and Nexus 5 experience Rom.

The only way you can find out is by flashing a completely new ROM (after you backup, of course) with a full wipe, and trying to call someone. If it works, then it's software. If not, it's hardware.
My take on it is that it's software; microphone is working while on speaker..

Ok, I found the cruelpit.
it was the usb port board that was faulty.
I ordered one from ebay because my port was broken, however it is missing something on the mic.

The bad one doesn't have a black film over the speaker.
I replaced the usb port from an other n4 and sound quality is back to normal.

also the USB slot
and the back speaker (it has a different shade than the rest of the phone)
it's definitely the Tmobile SGS
guy on the left probably saying something in german along the lines - "this xxxking GPS, what a joke", it thought i was in ......"
hahah thats def Galaxy S baby!!!!
The camera lens frame seems a bit rectangular instead of the squarish format of the SGS.
But it might be some aspect ratio distortion on the photo. They might be using the mighty Samsung indeed... especially since no GPS is needed there so a unit without one would still completely satisfy.

"Guy on the left" is Franck Ribéry, one of the best fotball players alive. His German is not all that fluent (coming from France), but may be enough to talk about GPS.

Kinda Fire teardown = possablities

Frankly I can't wait for someone to do a tear down to see what the exact hardware features and possibilities to mod the bajeebus out of the thing.
But this device is most likely a pass for me. Being as anything it can do, I can already do everything on my phone, netbook or laptop. There is a bonus however, the kindle touch 3g, has become a lot more affordable.
It would be awesome if the thing had an onboard microSD like the Nook Color does. Image it to a 32GB, swap them out and go.
iFixit posted a teardown here. Highlights:
-No hidden microSD. Sorry.
-what looks like a cast magnesium midframe. It should be pretty sturdy.
-WiFi module is identified as a TI WiLink WL1271 with bluetooth and FM support. This is the same chip as the Nook Color. Whether or not the BT or FM work is up to Amazon to have wired up to the right ports on the OMAP.
Bummer, oh well I'm still stoked to get mine tomorrow.
getting mine later today and am verrrry interested in the possibility of getting bt working.. after i root it and such, there any steps i should start with to see about getting it working?

Until there is a custom rom, there really isn't a way to tell since the Kindle OS won't let you even attempt to pair anything...since it wasn't meant to.
apologies! repeated link, hence removed.

Using my iPhone Earbud+Mic works fine in the audio jack.

I'm puzzled by the various confirmations that the jack is TRS (meaning it can't have a mic) because I did several tests by tapping on the mic quietly and talking while disconnecting the headset from the jack and you can clearly hear the difference so, somehow, it's TRRS.
For what it's worth I received my N10 last week. I'm running 4.3. Wish these things had a hardware/motherboard rev number I could quote but I can't find one.

It's funny, but my Sony headphones didn't work . But my Samsung S4 headphone worked fine and also a cheap one I got because my other ones broke. Guess it's some devices that has incompatibility.

Only thing I can think of is that according to the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phone_connector_(audio)
There's two standards for TRRS:

So since i'm using my Apple headset then the N10 conforms to the "latest" version of the standard.

[Q] AUX Playback Volume coming from phone is randomly low (but not always)

Gentlemen,
My friend has an original, unrooted S4.
I am waiting for the exact model number, but I believe it's the i9500.
She mentioned that when she plays music from her phone to her car stereo, the volume is often (but not always) low, and yes, phone volume is cranked up all the way.
When this happens, she has to raise the car stereo volume considerably in order to be able to listen.
So far, she's tried two different cables. Also, she's currently driving a dealer issued loaner and observed the same issue.
I've read the S4 FAQ and performed a Search. I couldn't find anything.
Have you guys ever heard of a similar issue with the S4?
Thank you in advance.

OMGGG HAHAHAHAHAHAH
but did you try to install wanam xposed and then you go to Sound and there you can change some sound things, I'll screenshot it.
I don't know if it would work but you could try, and try to download a other music player.

Sound
That's what I use and it is great (I also use DFX Player Pro).
Same here. Phone is set to level 15 and usually have the car stereo set to 30 out of max of 35. Always been like this even when I had a S2 and S3 as well.

galaxy s5 rare charging problem

hey guys,
i have the wiredest problem.
i've phurched a new galaxy s5 and when i connect it to the charger, a charging icon appears but the battery % dosent go up, only down.
i've downloaded many battery analysing app and theey all seem to think that everything is fine, that the current flows and all, but the % dosent go up!
i switched a battery and a cable and its definitly a phone problem (i can charge the battery in another phone)
some suggested that i sould replace the charging port but it looks completly new and fine, and also cost quite a lot of money to replace.
is there any other soultion?
thanks!!
Sorry I encountered the same problem on my old s3. I finnaly solved the probleme by changing the micro hdmi port. Sorry I know you won't here this but i search everything. I replace myself it's not so hard. I do it because my s3 was in ending life.
It does sound like the charger port.....
The replacement parts aren't that expensive (under £10 off eBay).
Just make sure you get the right one....
Look at the pictures......

These parts are device variant specific......
It would probably be a good idea to match 'rev' versions too.....that was certainly the case with the S2....If the wrong rev version board was put in, it led to signal problems etc......
