Wifi won't turn on - Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Questions & Answers

Hello ,
I can not turn on my wifi in my core prime 360 , Is there any one who can help me on this?
thanks,
Frikha

The only thing that would make that happen is the possssibility that its due to an actual piece of the phone being disconnected, loose, or malfunctioning. If a flex cable has come undone or the Wi-Fi antenna is not connected properly then the phone is certainly going to have problems connecting to a wireless network.

Can't get WiFi to connect for the life of me...

I've been trying to figure this out for awhile now and seemed to be stumped. I have my HD2 setup to dual boot into WP7 and MIUI Android, on WP7 I can seem to connect to my WiFi router at home but it shows the one dot on the meter instead of all of them. On the Android side it will show my network but then says it's poor and won't ever connect. I've tried to flash different radio's on here and nothing makes a difference.
So is it now hardware related? Or am I missing something on what to try and do? I haven't loaded a NAND build of Android on but anytime I've tried to load straight WP7 it seems to be the same thing.
My router is broadcasting in G-Only, would that be the cause of this? I didn't think I need to drop down the router broadcasting
Just loaded a nand version of Android and still the same issue.

Does anything else get connected to the WiFi?
What is the security type on the WiFi router?
I think its probably your router,
try it around someone elses house maybe?
My laptop and my wife's laptop connect to the router as well as the Wii, 360. My old myTouch and my wife's myTouch connects as well
Just the HD2 doesn't. I think it might not like Linksys routers
Got it to work...had to open it up and make sure the wifi antenna cord was connected and now I have full strength
hehe. glad it worked out for you.
and for anyone else who might have same problem...the best way to check whether the cable is loose or not just put on ur BLUETOOTH (yes i said bluetooth) and see if u can connect that as well.
if you cant...then its definately the loose cable.
why? cos on most of the htc devices including my hd2 and diamond and htc touch, the wifi / bluetooth cable is the same cable.

[Q] LG G2 DLNA Issue

Hi
This is probably a long shot, but just wanted to check to see if anyone else was experiencing the same problem.
Anyway, it took me a while to figure out but, when my phone connects to my home wireless network, it causes all other DLNA devices connected to the network to crash.
For example, I have two Netgear ReadyNAS devices, and use a Samsung smart TV which I use to access them (videos, music etc). With the phone connected, or connecting it to the wireless network, it will cause the TV to disconnect and make reconnection to the ReadyNAS device impossible without restarting the DLNA service on it. It will happen frequently for as long as the phone is connected.
I also have 3 Media Centre extender devices which connect to Media Centre PC to stream live tv, music etc. Connecting the phone to the network will immediately cause the extender to crash. Or, if the phone is already connected it will cause the extender to crash quite frequently where the only way to reconnect it to the main PC is to switch it off and on.
I can't find any setting on the phone to control this behaviour - noting that this happens even when the DLNA feature is off (accessed through settings->Share & Connect).
This has happened since the phone arrived at the beginning of October, it just took me a month to figure out that it was the phone causing all these issues.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Try a third party app like imediashare for example.

Sorry, I should clarify.
It's not that my phone causes other DLNA devices to crash when I'm trying to access them. I literally have to walk in through my front door and as soon as the phone connects to my wireless network, it'll crash any of the DLNA device switched on.
So, are you suggesting the app may solve that?
wireless router problem probably?
try to disconnect 1 or 2 devices from the network then re-connect your G2.
check if the same problem will happen again...
i've been using my G2 for a month now and it is always connected to my wireless network
but I haven't encountered any problem with the other DLNA connected devices...
Afraid not. It took me nearly a month to figure out what it was and in that time, I replaced my wireless router and components (including motherboard) of my PC - thinking the problem centered around the PC.
network crash

this just about sums up the situation i have and its spooky that it sounds like my own story except i got my isp to send me a new router after talking to technical and they saw the internet crashed and from my insistence that it was not a connection issue but it was the router dropping out and when talking to technical they asked me if there was any change to my network i did say i got a new phone but they dismissed this!.
running on my network:-
htc desire android
samsung google nexus android
smart tv
2 laptops
hard wired computer
samsung mobile
ocasional i phones (not guilty)
all of the above have lived in harmony on my network untill.......
even the hard wired pc loses internet but still visible on network discovered by plugging laptop via cable into router and then crashing network with phone.
the symptoms seem to be that it crashes the internet but the internal network still has some functionality, its like the firewall sets up a block and locks down internet traffic for a short while after a time it will come back on but the same thing happens again until i turn off wi fi on my phone that is only ten days old (bit smug it took me about 5 days to work out where the stuff hitting the fan came from!) but i have paid lip service to lg as they don't want to believe this is an issue with their phone and i did the factory reset only to waste some more time re loading my phone with wifi turned on.......
if you look at Samsung reports of this it is quite common on the s4 but again no one wants to take responsibility and the suggestions are it is to do with jelly bean os not quite being complete but Google wont admit to that. just be glad you haven't got an s3 with the new os update Samsung stopped that after about a week as it killed everything!
great phone but useless without wifi.
come on google and lg sort the crap out for the consumers or we will all get the hump and buy bloody apples

I have the same exact problem, got to change router but nothing works, any solution yet?
I never found any workaround for the problem. I was stuck using my data connection while at home if I used any of the devices.
That was until I had an OTA update entitled 'Internet' from LG last week.
Everything now works, with no issues.
Going on a whim here... but try TKIP only, no AES.
I had the same issue when I got my g2 last week. I tried a number of solutions suggested on various threads however the problem was only resolved by upgrading my Netgear modem/ routers firmware. I have had no issues since.

Just received the OTA kitkat update and the issue is back.
Unfortunately, I'm with Sky and stuck with an older version of the Sky hub which doesn't have a TKIP only option. Save forking out money to buy a new hub from them with no idea if the issue will go away or not, back to the drawing board...

Wifi issues

Hi all,
Have some issues with wifi disconnecting after connecting on g2.
The signal is ok I don't have these issues with my optimus g phone but it keeps connecting and then disconnecting. I have read people have issues with wpa2 and to use wep on phone instead but I cannot as work wifi I cannot adjust.
Has anyone found a fix for lg g2 on 4.2.2?
I am thinking of taking it back for either refund or replacement to see if new one does the same thing.
Any ideas is their a setting in service menu?
Totally stumped but it may be hardware fault location of antenna?funny thing is if I move 20cm from Blackspot here at work it stays connected.?
I have some issues with my wifi, it does not disconnect but speed goes down to only 1mb. After chaging the sim card it is much better (with some routers it is always now at full speed).

Wifi problem

Does anyone having wifi connection problem? Normally every time when the phone screen goes back on, I will see the toast about changing network to mobile data, then goes back to wifi straight away. Also sometimes it happens even when I'm using the phone too... I'm using statics IP and Smart connect is off, then now I'm not too sure what's going on...
It's not a very big deal, but sometimes it's quite annoying, does anyone know the solutions? Or share your story
I have seen that same message several times I have smart network on. Even though I've seen this message before I have never experienced interruption on wifi
Haven't seen this yet tho I always turn network notification and always allow scanning to off in advanced Wi-Fi.
I am having a WiFi problem also but mine is different. I am having a problem connecting and staying connected to WiFi on the Note 4. If I turn WiFi on, it will not come on unless I restart the phone. Then after I get it to come on, it will stop working if I stop using the phone. Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions? And no it is not my home WiFi that is the problem. It happens on any WiFi network I try to connect to.

I had this problem on my brand new HTC One, I called Verizon, and said it's a manufacturer's issue. I've never had the issue like that, before that phone. Call Verizon and have them ship you a new one. Since it's under the manufacturer's warranty you shouldn't have to pay a dime!
So, does anyone reckon the router I'm using would be an issue?

Easy to troubleshoot, try connecting to another router or connect using another phone.
My N910U does not have this problem, but my HTC ONE E8 does, it kills my VPN which drives me crazy.
The problem is very noticeable to me because in China, dropped VPN means no youtube/google/twitter, which I cant live without.
I figured that it has something to do with rooting, because the E8 was not dropping wifi before root.
I am not rooting my note 4 because of this, until proven otherwise
Please, post the variant name of the Note 4 with the issue, i.e. SM-N910*. Angelky have a SM-N910U. Katz916, which model have you?
Ask because I had a wifi issue with galaxy S4, never solved even from Samsung assistance.
i got the same problem sometimes..my wifi sometimes disconnect and then reconnect again..same model with u too..SM-N910U

I need always-on VPN as well.
My HTC ONE E8 was fine before rooting, drops wifi like crazy after root
I cant be 100% sure that root causes the problem, but I am not rooting my N910U until we know exactly what causes the problem.

Ya, i think rooted phone may be one of the issues, and probably router as well. I never try other routers, but in my case it always connects to mobile data when i wake up the phone, then straight goes back to wifi. And randomly connect to data then back to wifi again.... As i said its not very big deal, but sometimes its quite annoying...

does other phone work well when you are far in the router?
I have two router in the house and i use extender when im working far from my first router because in our house we need to use an extender so that the signal can be transmit to a much fardest location. Like forexample there is a big wall between the first router and your position
or have you tried to restart your router/modem as well?

Other devices work well with the router in my house.
The problem is with the note 3 ...
In my work it is the same, only works near the router
It must be about 30 cm from the router to work
this sucks
Hmm that is very strange
The WiFi antenna in your note 3 might have broken / come loose.
I think there is a way to test this as i'm sure that Bluetooth also uses the wifi antenna you could try doing this to clarify this as i'm trying to help you out but i don't have too much knowledge on the internal components.
Turn Bluetooth on on your note 3 and connect to a Bluetooth device like a speaker and see how far the connection reaches .
But it sounds almost entirely that you have a faulty WI-FI antenna in your note 3 its usually easy to get this repaired and shouldn't cost you a ton of dosh

Try to connect my bluetooth note 3 other device and the same thing happens with wiifi.
Only it works being close.
I think it is hardware problem
What router is it? I assume you've tried 2.4ghz as the range is much better than 5ghz.

I perform the test with different ranges and routers get the same result.
I tested 5 different routers.
