Gaming issues? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

i really don't know what's the problem here.
I tried some games and this phone lags here and there while in these apps. If this would have been a mid range phone i wouldv tought that those apps were made for high end smartphones, but this phone it's a beast,it has better scores that gaming tablets -
My question is why are games like Fifa 2016 (the new edition ) ; Heartstone etc lagging? Bad optimization?
Please leave your opinions below and post here any info about any game that's lagging on your s7 edge so we can test it and post our personal opinions.

[Q] [Discussion]Galaxy Note 3 Game Supporting

Hello people, I want to discuss about the Galaxy Note's gaming experience, I invite everyone to join us and talk about it.
I saw on some YouTube videos that the phone doesn't support some of the games, these games end up with crashing in the middle of game-play, or some deformations in the 3d meshes, etc...
This video shows some of the stuff I'm talking about:
What do you think about gaming on your phone, does it give a better gaming experience than the S4?
For someone who wants a Gaming Smartphone, is Galaxy Note III a good choice?
Best gaming phone
Note3 is the best gaming phone i came across.
Its flawless and better than S4, having upgraded from S4 to N3.
Its great to play in big screen too.

Couldn't agree more buddy, due to its very high performance, I believe it won't have any issue running the most demanding mobile games on the market today.

general thoughts performance experience.

Hi all, i've decided to purchase a tablet, and OFC has to be android, but there are tons of tablets. I'm really searching and digging deep to check what will be the best for my money on 10.1 screens dont wnat a 7/8" i've read several comments that the Tf701t has amazin specs teoretically but falls short on 3d gaming performance on demanding games, and the tf700t does quite a decent job but is not much of a difference with this one.
to the owners of the asus tf300t how is the gaming experience with games, i mean demanding games like GT Racing 2 , CSR Racing, Nova 3, Wilblood, MC4, Dead Triggers. NFS, GTA SA, run some emulators .. ????
the extra FB / Internet / normal games i believe it does perform decent enough for the specs.
please share your thoughts.

the tf700 offers a better experience if you want those high framerates for demanding games. Personally, I use the 300 for productivity and light gaming so it works fine. .
Edit: I just saw this today:

Poor 3d performance pisses me off!

Hi, previously had the Note 5 and after upgrading to 6.0.1, i noticed games lags very very hard, especially heavy 3d games like angry birds, they drop FPS and become too laggy, never happened on 5.1.1.
Now same thing with S7 Edge, phone works perfect, camera is awesome but gaming is lacking, i see how it can perform well but those 6.0.1 3d gaming bug kills it, now it pisses me off so much i wanna sell the phone as idk if samsung even aware of this.
Those who question me i can upload a video to youtube to show you that, just a rant thread.

This annoys me as well but I'm pretty sure it's just software as the hardware is more than capable. All the other features are more worth it than gaming performance since I rarely game now. So this is still one beast of a phone. It'll get better with dev support if they ever figure out an exploit for the 820 variants or some miracle happens and our bootloader gets unlocked.
yes it is software that's why it drives me crazy, at least if sammy somehow admitted that and we know fix on the way that would be nice, one of the reason i bought it is the awesome gaming and Vulkan support, which ppsspp emulator starts to support as well, i just hope they will fix it asap, as well as the stock app camera which have issues of it's own.
I had this issue as well, the solution is download game tuner from Google play store, and manually adjust the settings for your desired games to max. The performance is scaled down automatically. It's a "feature". This will fix your problems.
Wow! it does help though not by 100%, but now it took 6 levels to start lag out instead of 1, though it uses gameservice which means it lower the volume automatically and dim the screen or oversaturate colours at times, but it seems there is a way, thank you!
Well still same awful lag i think ill return my gs7 and buy something else
what SOC are you guys having? im on exynos and I have no problems with lag :\
me too.. exynos here with no problems
Exynos samw thing happens on note 5 6.0.1
Same here on S7 edge Exynos version

what games are you reffering to? since mine is ok with everything I trow at it but yours isen`t?!
Try angry birds 2 for 10 levels and youll see lag happens after a bit. If u minimize and then maximize it, it works bettet for a sec then lags again.
I will install angry birds to see if it is a bug with that game, I played way more demanding games than angrybird without a hickup so it can`t be the GPU.
What games u played that worked perfect let me know i try

angrybirds isen`t a demanding game..think it just needs an update..will try it later though.
It actually more demanding then it looks, as it lags on lot of devices, just watch when there is a lot of action how the birds throwing animation is not smooth.
yeah, i'm also on the exynos version, and there is zero lag in any of my games, or anything else i do. the exynos also has better battery life than the snapdragon.

Tried it for 10 levels as you said..no lag what so ever, even filmed it using gamelauncher. Must be some app or some setting that is causing this lag of yours.
https://youtu.be/SJDl_HJkrO0
Played for all 10 levels straight. With 15%battery left and also recorded at the same time.
it super laggy in the video, it plays really bad. to sum it up, the birds animation and game should not fall from 60fps, that what was on mine Note 5 with 5.1.1 but not with 6.0.1.
You affected as well, u might use AZRecorder as it does not have performance penalty.

[root & non-root fix] buttery smooth gaming & no fps drop [100% working]

Anyone else notice the lag when playing games?
Especially Blazblue, Bleach Brave Souls, 3D games, etc?
WELL youve found the right place here!
ROOT SOLUTION (100% LAG FREE)
Buttery JUST like an iphone 7! 100% LAG FREE
1)Install BatMan Rom in the Samsung S8 Rom development (Credits for making the rom!)
2)Install PekakaKernel
3) Root as Usual with magisk
4) After phone has been setup, download Kernel audiutor app
5) Before you play your game, set Minimum and Maximum both to 2314mhz for the BIG cpu & LITTLE cpu & GPU to min & max 572mhz
6) Click on governor and change to "Performance"
7) At the top of the settings page, click Apply on Boot
8)DONE! Enjoy your iphone buttery Gaming experience!
My lag in Bleach Brave souls and every other game has gone. So happy I made the decision to go custom rom & kernel!
NON-ROOT SOLUTION:
(decreases lag by ~40%!)
1)Install new launcher (nova) or anything light weight. Do not use Samsung's stock launcher.
2) Install Samsung's Game Tuner App & set your game settings to HW +5, and your resolution to however you like. I have mine on 100% as it feels snappier.
3) DONE!
you should notice 30-50% less lag and games will be actually be "playable" (remember to always play with game tuner app, with HW+5 setting) but you will still feel the lag here and there and in certain graphic intensive situations, it will still drop frame but its your best non-root solution!
if this worked for you, please donate me a beer or 2 thru my paypal at [email protected] cheers!
Same here man. Even a game as simple as the Tsum tsum game lags. My wife ain't happy about that as her iphone had no issues with games.

Eg I'm playing bleach, when skills are used the phone lags like an iPhone 4. Now thus is a powerful device it should not lag lag like this.
Have expiremented with game launcher, high performance mode different resolutions, etc to no avail.
Anyone have same issues or possible fixes?

What kind of lag are you experiencing in Bleach, Co-op lag or standard quest? I haven't had any issues, playing right now.
Just tried the game out and have zero lag. Smooth like my pixel.

I would say when it comes to apps specially gaming give at least a month before updates for them start rolling out. Most of them aren't optimised for the Galaxy S8. Once updates start rolling out i believe the experience will get a whole lot smoother.
anybody plays Mobile Legends?
my problem is the game isn't smooth.
there's constantly lag/delay.
I've tried downloading Package Disabler Pro, and disabled GamePad & Game Services.
it did make my game smoother, but the lag/delay still can be felt.
You can really notice the difference when you play something on iOS then play on this phone. Marvel Contest of champions is my go to game. Open that game on this phone and on an iPhone, not onlky does the iphone open is much faster, going through the menus is a breeze.
Tsum Tsum lags on this phone as well compared to the iphone and so does subway surfers. This is pretty pathetic with suppose top of the line specs.
Same here. Playing Fifa Mobile and it lags. This is really frustrating. Such a device and than this. Even on my old huawei p9 no lags. Anybody found a solution?

No, Mali g71 is already supported on Mate9/P10, while Adreno 540 on non Samsung device already runs Riptide Renegade at 2k ultra settings and 60fps for an hour!
The SoC is clearly crippled on the s8 for battery score, high performance mode is BS, you really can do nothing before root to fix it, believe me I have been trying on my friends s8
I haven't had any such problems and I play marvel contest of champions and star wars force arena.
Not a hint lag or slowdown hardwear wise.

No lag on mine either. Whether gaming or during anything. Phone is extremely fast.
Another thing, Just play
Skyforce reloaded on an exynos S8 vs s821 device to see the much inferior graphics, Mali's support is not great
I have severe problems playing Hearthstone. It sometimes doesn't register clicks and freezes for a couple of seconds.
I have no problems with lag, but I do with crashing. Bleach Brave Souls is constantly crashing. Froze game launcher, no launcher.

High performance mode doesn't make any changes to the cpu or gpu, sadly - only display resolution, brightness, etc. g71 is on mate9/p10, but with less cores = less heat. Also only Samsung goes extreme to gain a little more battery life. Sad as in reality you pay so much for super high end phone and the games play worse vs 3 years old phones. This is unacceptable, but Samsung gets away with it every years and keep doing it.
I think anyone posting here should make the distinction of they have exynos or s835 s8, the exynos version is just pathetic in running any game and if it runs good initially just play 5 minutes before it goes to hell, a phone with such hype and raving reviews should not be given a blind eye about this, it's inexcusable including the UI which lags in every corner
I just hope the s835 version runs things better (I know the UK doesnt)

ZTE Blade S7 - Lags on games, WI-FI disconnections and other...

Hi folks,
I'm a quite satisfied owner of this phone, but for some things I'm very unsatisfied and even disappointed.
First: lags on games. Games like "Ladybug Adventures World" and "Modern Combat 5" are completely unplayable because of lags. I don't love the war at all, so the true delusion is for "Ladybug Adventures World" a sort of Super Mario clone that I mean it's not so hard to be played good on a smartphone like Blade S7, but this phone fails completely because the game runs practically in slowmotion. Also Sonic Dash suffered some lags.
Second: very low score on mathematics in Antutu Benchmark. The half of a Samsung quad core S4 .
Third: random WI-FI disconnections. Fortunately not so often and just for few seconds.
Fourth: it warms up like a cooker when I stress it.
Any suggestions?
I ask my retailer for a change?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or hints.
Ah, the phone is new and not much used, with few applications installed.
