strange behaviour of Galaxy Note 4 - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought a Note 4 with Android 6.0.1. I do not know if the phone is rooted. The seller told me that it has a problem: sometimes when you turn on the phone it starts normally, everything works, it charges normally, but sometimes it starts with a black screen with the Android robot and a message like ”could not do normal reboot” and sometimes does not start at all. I have to take off the battery, wait few minutes, put the battery back, wait 5-10 minutes and then the phone opens normally again. It is a little strange.
I want to install clean Android 4.4.4 without any rooting or custom ROM. Just the original Android 4.4.4. I found the file on samsung-updates.com, but I am a little afraid of doing just a simple resoft with Odin, because I do not know what will happen next. What do you suggest?
Thank you for any help!

You can flash the 4.4.4 ROM without root via Odin all fine, but as you are on MM already, you will be needing to be a full wipe, and stock recovery can't do full wipe, it can wipe fine, but not everything, so for that you need to flash TWRP recovery. Then in TWRP's advanced wipe section select everything and do the wipe. Turn off the phone, turn it back on in download mode and flash the desired 4.4.4 ROM. Don't know why you are hesitant to root anyway!

So it will be no risk, even if the phone is rooted now?
And when that robot appears, the following text is displayed:
Could not do normal boot.
ddi : mmc_read failed
ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-N910F
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official

How can I repair the phone?

Please help me - tab 4 bricked

At first, sorry for my english, i'm french...
Well, everything is in the title.
I am the owner of a Galaxy Tab4, WiFi, 16GB, SM-T530 model.
I wanted to root it, then install TWRP and a custom rom.
Via Odin, I install the TWRP recovery(2.8).
After I started the flash of a Omnirom. Everything went normally, but on reboot, I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab logo 4 well, but in the upper left corner marked,:
KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID enforcing (in red)
Set Bit Warranty: kernel (yellow)
If I start in download mode, I have written:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-T530
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1 (4)
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CBS)

2 days ago, I traveled all the forums, downloaded everything I could find, flash all of things, makes "format data" wipe everything, etc .....
I can not go through Odin because it is no longer recognized.
Nothing works
It's awful, if someone can help me..........
Are you sure you're not able to get into download mode with pressing Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button? It should work if you press them until download mode appears.
Its for testing only. Havent read? But you should be able to go in download mode
Download stock rom, boot into download mode, flash stock Rom.

Have I bricked my Note 4?

Hi guys. I'm having some problems with my Note 4. I previously have rooted the phone, but tried to use SuperSU to unroot it. I was getting errors loading some apps telling me that phone was still rooted so I attempted to do a factory reset on the phone. Somewhere along the road I appear to have messed up the firmware.
Basically, when powered on my phone states "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." If I open the recovery menu on my phone (power+home+vol. down) it says
ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-N910F
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: CUSTOM
REACTIVATION LOCK: OFF
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1 (4)
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB)
AP SWREV: S1, T1, R1, A1, P1
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
UDC START
I have tried using Kies (both versions) which say that my phone is not recognised in the emergency firmware recovery options, and the firmware upgrade option fails.
I have also tried using Odin using firmware N910FXXU1COJ3_N910FO2U1COJ1_O2U and N910FXXU1BOC3_N910FO2U1BOC1_O2U.
I am totally stuck for ideas. Is my phone bricked?
Unfortunately I can't upload screen shots due to my account status.

I'm not sure. I assume stock.

Judging for your answer I assume that you are kinda "new" to this ROOT & flashing ROM stuff?
Am I correct?
If you are "new" to this stuff....I suggest you read & re-read everything before "plunging deep into the abyss"
Now the answer,
ROOT & Stock 5.1.1 Lollipop Kernel is a NO GO!
By updating your KitKat 4.4.4/Lollipop 5.0.1 into Lollipop 5.1.1 (BTW COJ stock update IS Lollipop 5.1.1) will remove your ROOT access.
Re-ROOTing it will cause a bootloop....IF you didn't change your kernel into a "Permissive" one.
Try flashing a custom permissive kernel if you are going to keep ROOTed.
It'll fix your problem.
Download ODIN, then go to samfirmware and download some software for your phone. Use Odin to flash whatever firmware back onto your phone and start again.

Note 4 - Loops on boot

Hi there!
I've looked all over the internet to solve my problem. I've tried many things to solve it but nothing seems to work.
Here's my problem:
After a failed installation of a custom rom on my Galaxy Note 4, it won't boot anymore. When I start my phone it says:
Kernel is not seandroid enforcing
Set warranty bit: kernel
Then it shows the 'Samsung'-logo. After that it reboots and so on.
If I go into recovery (Team Win Recovery Project v2.8.4.0):
I can acces all the data along with the external micro sd card. When I put a zip on it, I can install it, but that doesn't solve the problem. Using the internet I've tried these zips:
- Brick_Loop_FIX_afterRestoringBackup.zip
- cm-13-20151101-UNOFFICIAL-hlte.zip (this one didn't work)
- N910FXXU1C0H4-Deodexed_alexndr.zip
Wiping data or cleaning cache doesn't work either.
The only thing on my internal storage seems to be:
/sdcard TWRP
When I go into download mode:
ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-910F
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
REACTIVATION LOCK: OFF
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1 (1)
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB)
RP SWREV: S1, T1, R1, A1, P1
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
UDC START
Phone information:
Model: SM-N910F
SSN: - N910FGSMH
Solution I'm looking for:
Just a working phone. Doesn't matter what ROM or root/non-root
Is there anyone who can help me solve this problem. I've tried a lot but nothing seems to work / I do not have the right knowledge.
Thanks in advance!!
Kelsey van der Heijden.
(Sorry for bad English)
Have you tried flashing an official Samsung ROM using Odin? You can get one here (filter by country)

which version of custom rom were you trying to flash? 5.0.1 or 5.1.1? i suggest you download the same build stock firmware from sammobile and flash it with odin, kernel is seandroid enforcing means you have an unofficial kernel/rom/recovery and is nothing serious...first boot into recovery do factory reset, clear cache then without booting up the phone go directly into odin and flash stock firmware.

Needing help - Stuck in Odin

Hi all,
Please bear with me, I'm in way over my head here and don't understand most of what I've done. I was experimenting when I probably shouldn't have been.
So, I installed DarkLord's Note 7 kernel and rom. I found it to be quite buggy and am now wanting to wipe my phone and install Phronesis-N9005-N7-v6.0.
Problem is, when trying to boot into TWRP, I'm met with the the following:
ODIN MODE
Product name: SM-N9005
Current binary: Custom
System status: Official
Reactivation lock(kk): Off
Knox Kernel lock: 0x0
Knox warranty void: 0x1
Qualcomm secureboot: Enable (csb)
Rp swrev: S2, T2, R2, A3, P3
Write protection: Enable
UDC start
Downloading...
Do not turn off target
I've had it on for hours and it didn't do anything.
I managed to reboot it and it ran as it did before, in Darklords rom.
I read I have to install the official firmware and install it via Odin but I can't find anything about my device. On the back of it, it says:
SM N9005
FCC ID - A3LSMN9005
SNN - N9005GSMH
When I enter it into sammobile, nothing comes up.
Have I got this wrong? Should I be looking for something else?
You are booting to download mode not recovery .
Boot to recovery TWRP
#N9005 model firmware are on sammobile etc.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/samsung-galaxy-note-3-sticky-roll-t3237249
Booting into recovery via TWRP manager just results in the same Odin screen for me
As for the firmware - I'm not really sure which region I should pick out of those. I just thought this was an international model, but then I downloaded an app called Phone INFO and it tells me it's Vietnam. Could this be because of the rom already on there? It does also say it's a Note 7, so I'm assuming it's incorrect.
TWRP manager
DO NOT USE just boot to recovery via the vol up home and power buttons as normal .
Copy Phronesis to ext sd card and flash as per instructions .
You have N9005 Pick your area /network where you are .
Phone Info can only go by what's on your phone and you flashed DarkLord's Note 7 firmware .
Booting via manager was a last resort. I was trying the usual way and it also resulting in the same thing.
Boot to download/ Odin mode flash stock rom .
Thanks JJEgan, I figured out how to use Odin3 and Odin mode, then install Phronesis. All is good now

Phone doesn't boot anymore

Hi,
I have bought a second life Samsung Note 3 ( SM-N9005 ) here in the Netherlands.
I was so tempted to install a custom ROM, that I immediately installed TWRP with Odin v3.09. It took me several times to install TWRP 3.3.0-0, as the phone returned with its own T-mobile logo. (I had forgotten to set the developers options before doing something.)
Then I tried to install lineage-16.0-20190907-nighty-hlte-signed.zip file via TWRP. It fails with an error 7.
and: E3004: This package is for device: hlte, hltespr, hltexx; this device is hltechn.
(does this means there is a (replaced) main-board in this phone?)
I have updated the modem and bootloader files via Odin, selected BL with the file N9005_Nordic_XXUGPQB1-Modem_XXSGBQD1-Bootloader.tar. But I can't see if this has succeeded or not. TWPR doesn't see this file on my SD card, so I used Odin.
Is there a way to get around this and install LineageOS 16.0 on this phone?
It shows only the booting logo SM-N9005, but then it 'hangs'.
TMobile are you sure its an N9005 .
Boot to download mode to check .
There is a placard under the battery, stating: model SM-N9005 SSN: -N9005GSMH
in download mode:
Odin mode
product name: SM-N9005
current binary: Custom
system status: Custom
reactivation lock: Off
qualcomm secureboot: enable (CSB)
RP swrev: S2, T2, R2, A3, P3
secure download: enable
udc start
TWRP should not see your tar file only Odin .
I was able to install TWRP. When I boot in recovery mode, TWRP starts fine.
When I try to install LineageOS zip file and trying to install LineageOS, it fails with an error 7.
This package is for device: hlte, hltespr, hltexx; this device is hltechn.
How can a phone, that shows to be an EU model sm-n9005, coming up with a message it is a hltechn, in TWRP?
I have spent enough time and money on this phone. -- Project cancelled --
Lucky the phone came with a nearly new, Samsung cover.
So my own original Note 3 with Lollipop, looks as new again.
