Yes, there is an 12mp option.
I activated DSEE-HX on PowerAMP and other music players. But it require them to supports Sony Hi-Res API....
Hmm, it is strange.. I install camera mod on dstrikerz with all points of instruction, but I don't see 12mp. When I install Cyberian IV, I see 12mp
About poweramp, I mean that: after installing this mod musicfx disappears in the sound settings
The sound mod is really great. Wow.
Camera crashes when trying to record a video. Same as Cyberian IV.
Clean install, deodexed, data clean, superuser mod, Xperia Z1 C6903.
Only ZRCAM works without crash.
Best regards

Will you make for z3 MM
What is the difference between this mod to the ?
Cyberian Camera IV
According to the specifications it seems the Same
Xperiavision seems a "sequel"of the cyberian IV. But for now there is only LP 5.1.1 z1/Z1C. I have a z2 with mm. I hope there is soon a z2 mm version. This version it seems a cyberian Iv a little improved...Or i'm wrong? Cyberian Iv is awesome... The best mod for our xperias. I hope this project continue really with xperiavision! Artemisia too seems a cool audio mod. Great work guys!
XperiVision is a fork of Cyberian. It combines the best of Sony camera mods. There will be a version of it for Z2/Z3/Z5 MM.

The stock camera on z1 is really bad, it doesn't need to do testing because almost everyone know it. Can you flash the Chocolatetrain's mod cam V8 8MP on Z1 and compare it to Z3 again? Make sure your Z1 is on 4.4.4 because the camera focus on 4.4.2 is very bad.

Sorry, guys.
No comparison possible with reduced size photos. With reduced size, you cannot see fine details, you cannot even spot the Z3's non-focus areas at the picture's edges.
Please post photos in FULL resolution, only. Everything else is just a waste of time, making everything look great.

I did. Z3 performs quite well in low-light situations but FAILS with shots taken under bright sunlight. Especially plants, flowers or grass are rendered in a horrible way. Quality is like an 8 MP camera even in 20.7 MP mode, with unfocused areas at the picture's edges (left and right image borders).
Just try, watch the results in 1:1, FULL resolution at your monitor. :/

Thank you very much for providing these pictures !
Picture 1: Have a look at the playground down in the middle: Sharp contours, looks very good.
But then have a look at the trees on the right hand side of the picture, focus the leaves: All blurred, just a muddy green slurry. Especially visible if leaves are in front of another green background like above the tiny lawn with the street lamp on it.
So we've got real sharp objects AND totally blurred objects in the same picture. - Caused by Sony's inferior software.
Picture 2: Concentrate on the D-Link box, note the part just below the line "mydlink Camera Video Recorder".
Left hand side ("Home/Small Office"): Focused. Right hand side: Blurred. - Spoiled by Sony's inferior software.

The software without unlocking is faulty, too. See several reviews. But there is a fair chance they fix it with a software update. The sensor is great, the software is holding back the quality.

No, this problems are not caused by unlocking the bootloader. It's just Sony spoiling the camera by using a SUBZERO camera software. Maybe there's a deal as Sony sells camera modules to other manufacturers: "We'll buy your Sony cameras if you make sure that your own Smartphone's cameras are far inferior to ours."
We've got a capable sensor - but the Sony software castrates it down to 8 MP level. :/

The fact that automode makes it 8MP isn't that much the issue btw (for me at least), oversampling is a common technique to get the best MP image using all the pixels of a large sensor. The problem is that Sony's implementation is mediocre at best and you can not really count on it.
As this has been the case since the Z1 I'm very sceptical of them actually fixing it, but I do remember firmware updates for the Z1 for example which really improved fotos. It is frustrating though, the hardware is awesome but they don't get the most out of it because of the software.
Still, it's not as much crap as people here give it. I have shot many great fotos with the Z1 (although only owning the Z3 for a few days now I can not yet comment properly on its pictures) but the fact that it's advertised as the best camera phone ever sets the bar high and it can not (always) live up to that.
Another thing i hATE about KitKat - Call Recording Restricted!
i ❤ the new Galaxy S4's Camera UI. No „Switch(ing)·Between"" Photo and Video-Mode anymore - my wish since 2010! BOTH BUTTONS ON 1 UI!
[TAGS - Note,Smartphone,Pchonecam,Camera,Ƶooom,Ƶoom,orBit]
Here's what i wanted to tell - and it's about the Note 3's Digital Ƶoom.
Everybody knows - igital Ƶoom is nearly Useless but there's one type of Digital Zoom that is quite useful. I'm talking about the LOSSLESS- Digital Ƶoom Right now.
The S4 and Note 3 Have got the same Camera-Module. So with higher processing-Power and the Note 3's Camera app the S4 theoretically could Rec. in 4x of FullHD!
If you Zoom in while Recording in lower than the MaxRes supported by camera Module, then your phone must-likely uses the LLOSSLESS DIGITAL ZOOM!
A feature of lossless digital zoom isn't there (by manufacturer) because it would make unprofessional users nervous. They know nothing but think that their phone REALLY CAN ZOOM 4x (Note 4/Edge: Higher than 4x, basic phones like Gx. Star/Pocket: 2x; Omnia 2:3x) in. But if they'd see an option of lossless zooming, then they might think, that those 4x are not rreal.
But i can't believe that EVERY Zoom Lvl. until 4.0 is really Lossless.
Maybe 1.3x is just a lossly one to 1.2x. so it's useless!
Not all
1.0x 1.1x;1.2x;1.3x;1.4x;1.5x;1.6x;1.7x;1.8x;1.9x;2.0x;2,1X;2,2x;2,3x;2,4x;2,5x|2,6x|2,7x|2.8x|2,9x|3x|3.1x|3.2x|3.3x|3.4x|3.5x||3.6x|3.7x|3.8x|3.9x|4.0x
can be REALLY COMPLETELEY LOSSLESS! I can't really believe that!
I'd simply like to have a feature that ONLY INCLUDES THE LOSSLESS ONES and EXCLUDES THE LOSSLY ONES!
Lot's of camera applications.
Hi! I got Galaxy Note 3, I'm trying to find the best app for camera. With many apps which I 've been using, I have a very slight difference in results(pics) Do you have any suggestions? Probably you are using your favorites or the stock one is what we need? Thanks.

I know that CameraMX, Camera Zoom FX are good ones. OneEye is the best one for spying.
But i don't really think, that there's one where you can set Shutter Speed, ISO etc.
because the devices firmware don't allows that. (Rooting maybe would cause compatibilty probelms. - Not every root-professional-manual-camera app is compatible to EvERY DECIVE. And the Galaxy note 4 and Edge are the first ones who allow 4k-Recording to External apps!)
I'm not pretty sure if so - the CAMERA itself is not something that stores impoortant data that virusses and apps attack.
But for example: The xPeria Z2 overheats pretty fast at 4k-Videorecording.
An app without limitation at overheating maybe would cause the G·Lens to melt.
SULOTION:The System aborts this app - or simply denies access to the camera.
There must always be a solution to do something with avoiding data loss.
Simply killing this app would maybe cause data loss.
Then you'd see the Camera UI of this app and a black screen (maybe with text: „Camera Overheating“)
If you've got any other questions, then ask me anytime you ever want.
Have a nice day! ?❤♥

Because every decive has an optimized camera app. For itself.
OneEye is Optimized for S3 i9300/i9305 but every manufacturers builds the most optimiƶed Buitl-In apps for a specific dévice.
Only some Bugs or Programming mistakes might cause problems.
Also the Buitl-In Camera app has got Full Access to the Camera module because it's „Trusted"““
For basic smartphone for example galaxy Pocket, Star etc. ALSO Galaxy S3 have got a Photo/Video Mode. Since the Galaxy S4's Camera User Interface (Xperia V,Ƶ,Ƶ*; HTC One, etc.) has finally a Camera UI with BOTH BUTTONS on one page. - CameraMX offers the same for any ôlder smartphone!
The Camera UIs:
S2-S3-Note N7000-Note 2 N7100/N2LTE - Last UI With Switching!
S4-S4ƶ/minini-Note3-Round-NX - My Favourite Camera UI, Valuable and Cute Looking Camera buttons! My loved utterly buttons! ❤?♥/❤♥?()
S5,K,All S5 Varients, Note 4 + Variants like Note Edge - TOO SMALL AND MINDERWORTHLÉD CAMERA BUTTONS!
Some info...
-Viewing This Thread with XDA 2015 Styles willl maybe cause some problems! (Unicode Ƶ/ƶ)
Choose XDA 2013,2013/1024;2010;Classic!
- WARNING - [Fake Link] - FAKE!!!!!!!
-If Chrome or Internet Explorer 8 cause some problems with the Unicode Z and so...
Then try FireFox or Opera.
-Some other things that are missing - DON'T MISUNDERSTAND ME! The Note 3 is a Superior #1 Phone! at Chip AND ComputerBild (For it's time! Now it's #8 at Chip.de!)
But i did find out some other things about the Camera, that disappoint me.
-Shooting Speed - Only 20 Captures? Well, FASTER Than the S4 because of processing power but the S5 can do 1000! IN A ROW! And Note 4 only 30! I expected 1600, 2000 or so!
And if burst mode is off, S2 and S3 and Note 2 are the fastest if you touch the button in a row... . I somehow saw an S3 Mini with the S4's Camera UI!?
>The Galaxy S4's Camera gets VERY hot at Stabilized Digital Zoom. The Note 3 just a little bit... but the S3 gets not hot. Ok, only the downside Corners a little bit... (because the Processors are there - ?)
>The Note 3 Displays the Filesize in Megabýtes. Kilpbites are much more accurate!
>The Note 3 only displays MM:SS. HH:MM:SS on the S3 look better and more professional.
GOOD THINGS:
Drop down menu while recording is available without aborting the recording and also you can't[/Size4] see the left space/count of photos/left recording time! I hate to know how much space is left.
And the Macrofocus of the Note-Samrtphones is 8cm. That's too bad!
Lossless Zoom Levels - ?
If you know the Lossless Zoom Levels of ANY Smartphone, Note 3 or even Note 4, please post here whatever you know! If you just know a single lossless zoom level, then please also even post too!
ALL OF MY THREADS ARE NOOB-AND-EVERYBODY-Firendly!

I think it's x2.0 for FullHD and x1.0 for the 4k-UHD (Panasonic calls it QFHD)

I don't know.

Xperia Z3+ & Z2 Lowlight Photo & Display Comparison
Just did a quick comparison between Z3+ & Z2 camera (lowlight pictures for now due to bad weather!). Sony did improve the processing in auto mode especially auto white balance. On Z2, auto white balance is always a bit yellowish. I also included shots from Sony RX100M2 & Xperia ZL
And the phone didn't overheat yet with my regular usage! I'll be playing some heavy games this weekend and will update if things heat up!
Photo Bucket Link
Here is the display comparison with default white balance setting on both. Z3+ has a (much) brighter display and I'll add an outdoor picture later on. It's colder too but it can be tweaked by playing with the white balance settings.

Sure, I'll post more low light samples, hopefully by next Wednesday. I'm on a trip now and carrying the z3+ only.
Manual settings are there, didn't change much though. Not sure if that's what you asked...

Hey, would you mind answering a couple of questions with regards to this phone?I am thinking to upgrade from my Z1, currently using my brother's Z3.
How much RAM is available in average? Z3 has 1.5GB, but I've seen a report that Z3+ has around 860-900MB, which is quite a downgrade.
Another question is, how do speakers perform compared to other devices you own?
And the last one, does the device really heat up during extended use of camera or media exaggerates?
Thanks a lot for taking your time!

I get like 1.6GB - 1.1GB memory available (screenshots below) - depends on the number of running apps though. Just close the apps when you're done. They actually close pretty easily (from the multitasking view/button) unlike the previous android builds where they used to disappear from the list, but kept running in background.
Speakers are very good, maybe a bit better than Z2. I need to check on that when I get back home. Since you are using a Z3, you might find those a bit muffled though as Z3 speakers are more exposed. I'm not sure as I don't have a Z3.
I did a 4K video test (indoor). The camera app closed after 6.5 minutes. With heavy usage, it does get warm. So does my Z2. Z3+ probably gets warm a bit earlier than Z2 . There's certainly some exaggeration as it doesn't 'overheat'. Nothing exploded after 40 minutes of gaming It certainly got pretty warm, but that's expected. I personally don't think it's a big deal.
Btw, since you have a Z3, did you notice any image file size increase compared to Z1 in superior auto? I see around 300KB more on Z3+ compared to Z2.
nice, i think sony may have done well with the update for Z3+/4, judging from the video below, the Z3+/4 lasted for 11~12 mins on 4k video recording.
theres no guarantee that the Z3+ in the video is using the latest update from sony.

Z1's size is 2.27 MB, while Z3's is 1.41 MB, but I assume it also depends on a lot of other conditions, such as lighting and stuff.

Nope, Haven't used the app since My Z2 doesn't support, I thought it would work fine since the video showed everything should work.
Too bad the app crashed, I hope you're up to date bro. Anyways Waiting to see more photos from you

Has anyone confirmed what we will lose if we unlock the bootloaders on the Z5P? Seems like getting locked BL root on 5.1.1 is a very long shot and I think a lot of us would want to weigh the benefits of having root against the functionality of the phone being reduced.
So far I've heard:
- BionZ camera processing
- PS4 controller support
- X-Reality display mode
Anything else? Like payments or 4K support or anything?

I need to double check, but I'm 90% certain that PS4 remote play/controller support worked fine on an unlocked Z3, so I'm surprised it would fail on an unlocked Z5P.
I'm going to be unlocking mine soon so I'll know. To be honest, I have never really missed any of the DRM-protected stuff in the past when unlocking a Sony. Some people actually preferred when the NR algo was disabled in the camera because it's known to be overaggressive and destroys detail. (RAW would be optimal, which is why I've been working with Alin on the AOSP camera project - RAW does work in the new AOSP camera blobs but they have a bunch of other things that need work.)

What about Miracast (screen mirroring)? I lost it on my old "z" unlocking the BL.
Good to know that it seems that nothing much is lost then. Looking forward towards rooting and transferring my Z2 to my Z5P soon.

Is it even present to begin with? Google has really been pushing Google Cast as a replacement to Miracast. (as in - use a Chromecast...) I thought Miracast had been removed from stock Android in favor of Google Cast.
If it's present it might be a Sony addon. The Z was released before Miracast support was integrated into stock Android so it had a "nonstandard" implementation.

I have a Sony Bravia TV since 2 or 3 years and it uses NFC + Miracast for screen mirroring so I never tried Google cast.

No idea as I haven't really used the phone yet. Only thing I can say is that the sample image in the x-reality menu stays the same no matter which setting is chosen. It worked fine before unlocking.
Could you follow up with some sample pictures if u get a chance?
And some comments on the sound quality
Could you also tell about the camera picture quality? And the low light photos? If possible, please do post a few low light photos. Thanks

Same, i'm still using my Z2 since there are no way to root my Z5P without unlocking bootloader. Sucks that we have to wait months before there's a work-around. X-reality and Sound enhancement is really important since i watch all my movies on my Z5P especially 3D movies with VRTube using my VR headset the images are super gorgeous .

What you can expect is the NR algorithm gets disabled - not much else.
Some people, including myself, actually prefer when the NR algorithm is gone - it reduces noise but destroys detail. Ideally we'd have RAW support, but so far that's only in the experimental Sony AOSP blobs. (which reminds me, I need to go through the vignetting/distortion cal process on some pictures I took with my Z3...)

I personally would disagree that these are really important - these are gimmicks that mangle the image/sound. You have a truer representation of the actual content when these are OFF. Also, X-Reality only works with Sony's own player app so it's irrelevant to something like VRTube.
Remote play doesn't work anymore

Low light photos still suck compared to Sammy S6 and above/LG G4 and above.
I updated MM yesterday and took snaps today, before and after drmrestore. See attached.
Noise processing was definitely restored.
I want to unlock my bootloader too. But as far as i know i will loose my warranty. That's why i didn't unlock until now

Pardon my ignorance, mate, buy don't you need root to backup your DRMs, in the first place?
Hi folks,
i wanted to share some of my insights from 2 days of usage of Mi Mix. As for most, camera was biggest letdown. I knew it was bad, but actual experience exceeded all expectations After some digging and thanks to some threads in xda forum i found a way to make quite decent photos with little sacrifice.
So few things first:
- I'm on rooted LineageOS with Camera API2 unlocked (to be honest i didn't have to unlock it - i suppose it is unlocked with LineageOS? )
- As some noticed before, the hardware isn't that bad, it's software that spoils photos with ugly postprocessing in most cases.
- I'm using Snap Camera HDR - i tried most of software in Google Play and only in it found something like Low Light Mode - if someone know software with similar feature - pls let me know .
So what i did is basically turning off all useless postpro in Snap Camera (sharpenning, denoising, post-processing, anti-banding) and enabled Low Light Mode in all photos . From what i understand i takes series of photos and compare them to make one clean photo. You can choose how many frames to take. More you take the better picture you will get but it will also take more time to process. The processing time is biggest letdown of this method. You can't take another photo during processing so burst mode won't work. I found 5 to be best compromise - it enhances photo noticeably and takes only 1-3s to process. If u can spare more time between photos u can crank it up to 32 - with that count i had really impressive results even with ISO around 1500-2000 but the processing can take 10-30s. Another letdown as you can probably guess is that you can have some issues with moving objects - the darker it gets, the more blurred will they be (slower shutter for every frame).
Now to main dish, examples
All photos taken in 16Mpx without flash or any tripod, all taken form hand for real life comparison. As photo is processed in Snap Camera the jpg lose photo metadata so i only write that data for stock camera, for Snap Camera i write how many frames was set for Low Light Mode. I know it's not very scientific but i take photos in both softwares almost at the same time, in same light conditions and on basic auto modes.
Stock camera on left, Snap Camera on right - I'm posting 100% crops, ill post full pictures if there will be some demand

2. [ISO 1250 1/17s] [5 LLM] - some fine details - fur, fabric, wood texture in mediocre light
3. [ISO 1600 1/17s] [5 LLM] - small details in mediocre light
4. [ISO 160 1/33s] [32 LLM] - outdoor in good light - i took more frames to show some extra foliage details
5. [ISO 6400 1/15s] [32 LLM] - most hardcore example, very bad indoor lighting. Snap Camera algorithm made some wired border around Marshall logo, but apart form that great job.
I hope my post will help some of you with Mi Mix camera, please post your own experiences with camera - maybe there is even better solution for our phones

Big Thx, i will most certainly try it:good:
I'm considering getting this device, but the camera is the main thing holding me back (besides price for last year's SoC...)
Does the Google HDR camera make this acceptable? I don't necessarily need the BEST camera, but I'd prefer relatively fast rate of capture and at least mediocre detail. The initial reviews of the device's camera make it seem like utter trash.
Also consider I want to root the device & install something Lineage based, most devices you sacrifice camera quality when you go this route (because of lack of API 2 / hardware source).

Perhaps but see my above post. Anyway it's not a ''wow'' app, just saying.
Received the Nightly OTA today, updated to V9.1.1.0 . Now I am on Nougat, the OP5 port linked in this thread works now , other versions of the google camera get installed but will close immediatly. Just tested it in my room and can't say that I see an improvement, maybe when tested outside at daylight. But I use the google camera anyway because I'm using immersive mode + dpi changes which make stock camera working less stable.
Hi. I updated yesterday to V9.1.1.0 via OTA. I tried the OP5 camera and is does a better job in lower light and image stays in better focus then stock camera. Is the OP5 the same as the google HDR camera. If not, is there a version of google hdr camera that works on Mi Mix without root? Also is there there a way to turn on some type of optical stabilization on stock camera. If I hold it really still when snapping pic the image is a lot sharper. It's actually pretty good. Just not practical to take pictures that way.
EDIT: OK. I guess no OIS on Mix...
I got my mi mix a bit more than a month ago coming from a OP3 and I was shocked by the awful camera of the mi mix. Sorry, I have no other words for it.
The op5 APK seems to make it digestible, but it's still not great. I know that for a GREAT camera I should've picked a different phone, but I didn't expect it to be like this.
