Candian s4 freezes an reboots alot - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Lately since i flashed the dirty unicorn 6.0 rom on my sgh-i337m its been giving alot of problems like overheating an constantly rebooting an i decided to revert back to other custom roms made for my phone but the ui keeps on freezing an the system apps keep crashing too ,an rebooting whenver the screen goes dark. ive reverted back to the stock rom an im still getting the problems any help would be apprreciated thank you.

Rebooting and overheating happens on the latest stock rom too? If it does, it could be a motherboard failure.
I had a phone that would overheat when connected to a charger when it was powered off. I could only fix the problem by replacing the motherboard.

[Q] Phone Freezing and Rebooting

Hello,
I am having an issue where my phone freezes and reboots. It does not seem to have any rhyme or reason why it is doing. Sometimes it will do it while it is just sitting on my desk doing nothing. When it crashes and reboots it will go into a boot loop showing the LG logo, then black, then showing the LG again. It will cycle through this loop a few times and will boot into the ROM eventually.
I have looked through the whole Q&A thread searching for freezing, auto restart, crashing, etc but have not found a fix for this. I have flashed back to stock with the LG flash tool using the tot and dll files. It started happening right after I got into the stock rom. I have clean flashed various different ROMs as well. It started happening when I was on Cloudy G3 2.1. I then went to the Resurrection Remix Lollipop rom and it happened there as well. I pulled the battery as well following a guide from youtube. Nothing has seemed to fix the issue. I saw a thread about using Ubuntu to push some img files and openrecovery to the phone but I am not sure if that will fix it either since I flashed back to stock.
Does anyone have any ideas or can point me to a thread I might have missed? I have the D800 AT&T model running the Bliss Pop 1.7 ROM right now.
Thank you in advance for any help.
bump - Anyone?

Galaxy S4 (i9505) Motherboard Broken? Very special case.

Hi guys, i'm having big issues with my phone.
I was on imperium lollipop Rom, everything went fine, and i began to have call issues (bad reception quality), so i decided to update my modem & bootloader to the last lollipop ones. Then i installed a S6 port rom (by albe95), and my phone became crazy.
I have random reboots, shutdowns, sometimes i can pass through the simcode and i use the phone normally, and then it restarts like infinite times, i have to remove the battery. I wiped data, cache, dalvik cache, system like 50 times, i flashed another roms, the problem still exists. Sometimes i can't even get through the boot, it just shuts down.
I even tried to downgrade to a kitkat firmware, and return to imperium rom still the same problem encountered.
I really don't know the problem, i can access download and recovery menus, i can flash with odin, but can't get the phone to work normally.
Has anyone had the same problem? I'm starting to think that the motherboard is bricked, but why is it so random?
Thanks for your responses.
Best regards.
Check all cables

Strange scenario, i changed the motherboard, still the same problem, removed the sd card, same problem, sim too, same problem, so i guess this comes from the battery

Fed up with my S4. Time to upgrade?

Hello.
I guess I am done with my S4(i9500). Too many strange problems since past one week.
So, I was on Halycon ROM and one fine morning, phone restarted and all apps started optimizing again. Ok no issues.
But now I noticed, whenever I restarted, 2-3 apps optimized everytime.
So did a clean flash and installed Cri5.
Now restored some apps and then 1 app optimizes on boot now. Is there a way to log which app is causing the problem?
There's one issue. Another issue is phone restarts randomly when gets up too hot and gets stuck on S4 boot screen. Have to remove battery and restart to boot it up..
Another issue is that the phone isn't being recognized by my PC. Tried Kies. Tried everything. I don't get the MTP menu when I connect the power cable.
Oh, and another issue, I guess my SD card is infected with a virus. Any recommended free antivirus for android?
Thanks if you could help me with one of the aforementioned problems.
Regards
Sounds like you need to flash back to stock in order to rid yourself of the software issues. If the issues are present on a stock ROM, it could be a hardware problem.

Note 4 Bootloop after overheat (?)

hello,
i hope anyone of you can help me, i dont know what to do :/
yesterday I was at a party and dancing, it was very hot there, and as I took pictures, the phone was very slow. That wasnt normal.
So I put the phone back in my trouser pocket, and some time later, I realised that the phone was shutting down, booting, shutting down... in an endless loop.
I tried a different battery, putting the battery in and out several times, putting the phone to the loading station ..nothing worked.
I cant start the phone anymore.
I know that "normal" bootloop issues (after rooting or flashing custom firmwares) were normally solved by flashing the stockrom again, but I really dont want to loose all my data!
so is there any option for me, instead of deleting everything and flash the rom again?
( I have a rooted Note4, but with the original 5.1.1. firmware. Its a german phone.)
If any of you has any ideas that I could try, I would be thankful.
Chocsy

Phone crashing and shutting down randomly when not On charge

. For the past few days my phone has been crashing and turning off randomly, when the phone is off the charger. The screen just goes black and Shuts down. When I try to reboot the phone it will get upto the boot animation and then freeze and shutdown again. I have to connect my phone to a charger and then reboot, only then does it fully boot up. My battery is 100% btw.
What I have done so far is:
1) flashed the latest build of exodus
2) cleared dalvik and cache
3) flashed an earlier build (25/07) without flashing XPOSED and SUPERSU. However problem still present.
Can someone help please and tell me what other steps I can take. My phones important to me at the moment as I'm away in Turkey for an internship. It's a really strange problem I can't figure out what to do. Thanks alot
Did you try to go bacm for stock oneplus OS? Try to do a full recovery via the tool it will wipe root twrp back to stock. It may help.
Does it happens with other roms?
hi, i solved the problem by flashing stock oxygen. i tried flashing oxyslim and cyanogen however both of them still had the same problem. Anybody have a idea of why this might have happened? it was completely random, and if it was the kernel then it would have been solved when i flashed the other roms...strange

It could be that te ROMs u DL were corrupted. This happens, thats why is always good yo verify HASH from your dl ROM and HASH from the developers topic
So you haven't read up on the official CM13 thread about the latest unstable builds?
