Hello guys, I have a 6P and i got a Reliance Jio sim which has unlimited LTE, talk and text for 3 months. It supports calls only on VOLTE. I am not able to get VOLTE work on my phone. What might be the reason?

Any luck?
Recently I bought a Reliance Jio Sim for my nexus 4. But When I plugged it in, It doesn't register on any network.
Anybody knows how to make it work..
I tried changing Cellphone network in Settings to LTE. (didnt work)
I also tried 2nd method which i saw in one of Unbox Therapy Video.
I.e. dialing *#*#4636#*#* from dialer app
then selecting Phone Information .
Inside that Set Preferred network type to LTE/GSM auto (PRL)
That to didnt work.
Anybody knows any work around.
Thanks in advance.

Our Nexus 4 is an 3G device even if you switch it to LTE(4G) it wont register, because Jio and all those other 4G sim in India uses different Band than aboard carriers.

Which band does 4G network in US work on ..?
Taken from Quora:
Reliance holds the license for 2300 MHz spectrum all over the country plus, 800 MHz spectrum in 10 circles and 1800 MHz spectrum in 6 circles for all kinds of services. 1800 MHz band is one of the most popular bands for deploying LTE services across the world, due to considerable advantages over 2300 MHz band. Around 44% of global 4G networks are deployed over 1800 MHz spectrum.

You'll have to flash hybrid modem. Check this post: http://www.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-4-lollipop-lte/

Swapnil .. 4G wont work in our device.. Only 1-2 bands are supported on our nexus 4 ..
New 4G band auction is going to happen very soon .. Maybe then we can get 4G from some carrier..
But its not worth it .. As i have read somewhere the antennae is there in phone but not the amplifier... So you'll get very weak signals all the time and it'll drain your battery very fast..

Even though you have Nougat on your phone, the modem is still the old one (because you might be knowing that Google doesn't support this phone since last 2 years i.e. after lollipop).
And as I mentioned earlier in my post, JIO can be used on Nexus 4, see this post on facebook.
What Nougat ROM do you have BTW?
Nitin
Is LTE really working on Nexus 4 in India? If so, on what carriers? If someone would be kind enough to confirm. Its just that, other than one person everyone is saying no. Really like my Nexus 4, don't want to buy a new phone
PS: Haven't bought a 4G sim yet, just waiting for confirmation.
I came to know that it only works in LTE band 4; and this band is not used in India. So LTW WILL NOT WORK in India. Don't know why that guy posted that on facebook (to which I linked on last page)
Nitin
Nexus 4 doesnt support TD LTE even after flashing hybrid modem. heck it doesnt even support remianing LTE bands. so no go
This really sucks guys, considering we would have achieved free services till 31st dec

Shocked to read this. Expectations from a device released in late 2012. But i think you can try multiboot kitkat/jellybean for LTE hacks with mm/n till dec 31.
My N4 is on your build NitrogenOS 7.1.1 but Jio ? Have you tried jio on N4?

Have you personally tried Jio on N4?
I follow your NitrogenOS releases and was happy to see the LTE recommendation in the settings. But today I've tried jio sim on my N4, the device has shown the Jio 4G but with a warning, NO SERVICE should I have to tweak something in the phone information provided by *#*#4636#*#* ??

Fine, we're only left with an option to upgrade our hardware ??? 4G on N4 is only possible when some network carriers get band 4 1700/2100 AWS
see this
Ok...so u cant use jio...its ok...take 4g 'IDEA' sim ...recharge I with 4g one month plan......then turn this sim on in any 4g mobile.....use some internet...then take it out out and put it in any 3g phone....u will be able to use free calling feature and 1gb daily internet on 3g speed.....
Can somebody provide a ROM for redmi note 4g (dior) with volte enabled.....its a high demand...please

It is not possible, as VOLte hardware is not present in this device. This device has older 4G chip that doesn't support VoLTE .
Easy way it cannot exchange multiple connections on Lte like modern devices, thus No Volte

Facing network drop issue in oneplus 2. Using dual sim, jio and airtel network. Jio provides service through only volte. When i use jio sim i am facing very serious network drop issue for both sims. Any one can give suggestions or solutions. A humble request to lineage dev team to fix this.

Hey everyone..
So the Pie update is being rolled out for the MI A1 and it brings with it Dual VoLTE/4G capabilities.
Both MI A1 (tissot) and the Moto G5+ (potter) are using Snapdragon's X9 LTE modem. So is there a possibility for Dual 4G on Moto G5+ too?

I don't think so as the sim slot 1 is only have 4g hardware and sim slot 2 is having normal 3g hardware. So it won't work.

Both slots have 4G hardware.
You can use 4G on both sims.
But you can't use 4G on both sims at the same time.

Yes exactly... So was the case with (Tissot) MI A1... Somehow Xaiomi managed to get Dual VoLTE working on the phone. Which is pretty amazing to be honest as i didnt think the X9 modem supported dual 4G or VoLTE.
Hoping that the peeps at XDA find a solution for that. Im dying to use that.
Im in NA, our sim tray only comes with one slot, but if I look in my sim tray slot I can see there is two spots for two sims, I purchased a dual tray online, but it never works, Im not sure what makes the dual sim work it must be software ?
