Mate 8 back to stock Android - Mate 8 General

Hello
Is there a way to get the Mate 8 back to a completely stock Android release from Google? (preferably Marshmallow 6.0)
I can't stand this EMUI stuff.
I have the NXT-L09

Followed it, step by step.
I can't get it to do anything else other than go into Huawei eRecovery
Very Frustrating.
The guide just says "Then Root it".... how???

Root via supersu
First unlock boot via code
Then flash TWRP
Then flash Supersu.zip
Then Format internal storage
Then supersu again
Then reboot

That's my issue. I did the TWRP flash..
C:\Users\robby\Downloads\Fastboot>fastboot flash recovery TWRP-ENG-6.0.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery' (26954 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.588s]

OKAY [ 0.450s]
finished. total time: 1.044s
C:\Users\robby\Downloads\Fastboot>fastboot reboot

Then when I reboot, I can't get into TWRP by holding power and volume up.. it just goes into huawei recovery..
there is no way for me to flash SuperSU

okay, um....u can just save urself a lot of trouble, because there is no stock android firmware directly from google EMUI is all you get for this phone
u can only install google apps, an alternative launcher and clean up your system apps via root to get "closer" to stocl android, but it still wont be stock android!
concerninf reboot into recovery, try all button combinations!
1: vol up + power
2: vol down + power
3: vol up + vol down + power
one of them will work and bring u into twrp

[HOW TO]Go back to EMUI 3.0 from CM11

Hey guys!
I recently decided to try CM11 for this awesome device and I was extremely impressed by it.
One foolish thing that I did was that I didn't create the nandroid backup of my EMUI 3.0 version B380 rom. So, I tried to revert back using the 3 button method(creating dload folder and pasting update.app).
But for the life of me I could not get it to work!! I tried following
1) Straight away pressing 3 buttons but it failed.
2) installing stock recovery using multi-tool. Tried all recoveries (for my l04) still failed.
3) removing ext sd and creating dload in internal. But it couldn't even find the update this time!
So, I was browsing through forum and came across this post thanks to @Julsen1985 , @ thermalboyz
1) Use "B608" and flash via fastboot: (Extract using Huawei Update Extractor) Put into adb folder and manual flash from CMD.
- fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img
- fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img
- fastboot flash boot BOOT.img
- fastboot flash cache CACHE.img
- fastboot flash cust CUST.img
- fastboot flash userdata USERDATA.img
2) Reboot phone

Just download the B370 version from OP of cm11 and follow the exact procedure mentioned above. When you open command terminal, give command "adb reboot bootloader" and start flashing
U might have to factory reset as it shows incorrect user available memory. Then u may proceed for the B380 incremental update.
Also thanks to @worstenbrood for extractor and @VirusPlus for multi-tool .
Hope this helps!

The flashing with 3 buttons, after installing with fastboot, takes forever to load at the end. Is it just stuck or is this normal?

It worked once for me, while going back to stock from L01 firmware.
I just restarted to fastboot and did the "unbrick" option with Multi-Tool. After that, it just rebooted straight to EMUI 3.0.
Got it rooted with stock recovery now.
Thanks for your tutorial!

The Multi-Tool also guides you through the whole process, after "unbricking" , so it's kinda noobfriendly. After that, 3 buttons should work normally, I used the 3 Buttons before, so it just rebooted to EMUI, because it only rewrites BOOT, SYSTEM, RECOVERY and the CUST partitions.

You don't have to go through B608, just download B370 and extract all *.img and reflash them with fastboot.
I did the "unbrick" option with MultiTool and after that restarted with vol-,vol+ and power to flash it from sdcard via UPDATE.APP.

@sandeepmraval [ this is continue of ur last response ]
- According to your HBOOT ur phone already has lollipop so in this situation there is no rollback to KITKAT.
- Can you flash TWRP recovery see here how to flash? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsn6co4Ve6M
- Download this twrp lollipop backup https://mega.nz/#!7NcyhJhT!p0AVHYCe6...Lkmc9xWXjlZ5FE
- Put in SD card; make folder in sdcard on basic of this location [ TWRP/BACKUP/SH4AVYC01134/PUT THE DOWNLODED backup folder here ]
- Mean time you should already have flashed TWRP 2.8.7
- SO go to bootlodder>Recovery> you will reach trwp
- and wipe cache | system | delvik cache | factory reset
- Restore that backup from twrp & again just factory reste "yes" from Twrp recovery
- Finally reboot system from twrp recovery
- phone will boot & wait for complete boot with HTC sound
- If above twrp backup worked : you are lucky,if not then
- Looks Like this is the file you need "0PFJIMG_A51_DTUL_L50_DESIRE_SENSE60_MR_hTC_Asia_I ndia_2.10.720.1_R_Radio_01.01.010_U10305041_08.01. 50512_release_453048_signed.zip " but i found it on http://www.ir-file.com/ where we need to pay to create account & download
Last question i would like to ask you from where did you get lollipop ruu for your phone ? what was download link ?
If any problem occurs let me know i will find the another way.
@ h1dd3n_sn1p3r
Ok I will explain the whole thing.
1. I had updated my HTC D820u from Kitkat to Lolipop without rooting. i.e. stock update.
2. Then I rooted it by following all the steps i found in one of the post on xda i.e. unlocking bootloader, then installing twrp recovery, and then rooting it. I have installed Android Studio Bundle for the steps.
3. Now I wanted to go back to stock i.e. Lolipop 5.0.2 which was my last updated stock version.
4. I downloaded Stock Lolipop firmware for HTC 820 from here. http://www.theandroidsoul.com/htc-desire-820-dual-sim-gets-android-5-0-lollipop-update-in-india-today-84783/
5. Then I started searching ways to go back to stock.
6. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823 This link helped me but still I couldnt go back to stock firmware.

[Root][RS988] Rooting RS988

Now that LG has released the bootloader unlock for the RS988 it can now be rooted.
------------------------------------------------------------------------Disclaimer---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This post is meant to be educational and I am not responsible for any lost data or damaged devices resulting from the following instructions
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----Instructions on Unlocking your bootloader can be found here---------
WARNING THIS WILL FORMAT YOUR DEVICE
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/official-european-lg-g5-h850-bootloader-t3363040
The only difference is selecting RS988 when selecting your device
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Requierments:
ADB
fastboot
An RS988 LGG5
The working (though not entirely tested!) TWRP image is found here https://build.nethunter.com/test-builds/twrp/lge/twrp-3.0.2-1-rs988.img (Thank you jeffsga88 for finding this link)
The Latest SuperSu Binary
Step 1:
Make sure your RS988 is fully updated, the rebooting into the bootloader is only unlocked in the most recent updates.
Step 2:
Enable Developer options and USB Debugging
Step 3:
Enter Command
Code:
adb reboot bootloder
Step 4:
Once in bootloader run
Code:
fastboot flash recovery [path to twrp image on your pc]
Step 5:
Turn off the device DO NOT let it boot back into android!!
If you do boot back into android, you will need to re-flash TWRP (Steps 1-4)
Step 6:
With your device unplugged, hold power and volume down, releasing the power button for a moment when you see the LG logo, then
re-pressing the button to enter recovery, on the following screen select yes both times
Step 7:
(The Following Text other than step numbers is written by and entirely created by jcadduono, and can be also found at his post at https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/recovery-team-win-recovery-project-lg-g5-t3363047)
At this point, you will see the TWRP splash and reach a screen asking you if you want to allow system modifications.
By swiping right, you will trigger dm-verity, and if you don't follow step 8 you will be unable to boot!
If you are going to root your device or follow the rest of these steps, then it is safe to swipe right and enable modifications.
Step 8:
Only if you want internal storage or data to work in TWRP:
Go to [Wipe] -> [Format Data] (not advanced wipe) -> type "yes".
WARNING: This will wipe your internal storage, disable encryption, and factory reset your phone!
Go to [Reboot] -> [Recovery].
Step 9:
Please consider backing up your stock boot partition in TWRP before proceeding to the next steps!
Step 10:
If you want to be rooted with SuperSU:
Download the latest SuperSU stable by Chainfire.
Without exiting TWRP, transfer the SuperSU zip to your device over MTP* and flash it using [Install] in TWRP.
-or-
If you only want a bootable system partition or writable data in TWRP:
Download dm-verity and force encryption disabler.
Without exiting TWRP, transfer the no-verity-opt-encrypt zip to your device over MTP* and flash it using [Install] in TWRP.
Step 11:
Go to [Reboot] -> [System].
---------End of jcadduono post clip-------------
Now upon reboot, the phone may loop a few times and take up to 5 minutes to complete the process.
When you get into the device, run through setup as normal and you will have SuperSu installed and you will be rooted.
I can not verify Magisk Root Yet but will be attempting to do so soon.
You guys that have the rs988 you may want to ask one of the devs to add support for LOS and custom ROMs. But don't bug them either.
Maybe @King_lilrowrow could help if he has time, although I know he's been busy lately with other things. Hopefully someone will help you guys out. I have no idea how to, otherwise I would try and help. Nice you guys have rootr and twrp finally though.
I am using latest version: RS98810d
Step 4: flash recovery finished without error but cannot Power Off when press "Power" for 10 seconds so I unplug batterry then plugin again and press "Power+Volume down" but it cannot so I tried run command "fastboot boot twrp-3.0.2-1-rs988.img" after re-flash recovery but system shows:

After flashing recovery, unplug USB cable and pull battery. Put battery back in, then press and hold volume down (hold volume down entire time) and press and hold the power button, when you see the lg logo, let go of power button for 1 second and then press and hold power button again until it reaches factory reset screen. One at factory reset screen select yes both times and you'll enter TWRP. When using the buttons remember to never let go of the volume down button only the power button for 1 second at lg logo.
You can also try after flashing it:
adb reboot recovery
Note: you must reflash TWRP if you allowed it to boot into os without flashing SuperSU or magisk.

I've held off on unlocking the bootloader and rooting, since it seems there currently are no ROMs available for the RS988 to flash. Basically you just end up with rooted stock?

Yes, currently all you can do is install TWRP and root stock. You can also install some audio mods like viper, but no custom ROMs yet for this version of the device.
Is there a touch TWRP recovery available? Granted I'm not sure if I will be able to flash it, since my power button is broken.

Yes it's touch TWRP, can't even remember last time I saw a non-touch based one, been at least 3 years or so. Anyways it's located in the op. As far as flashing it, I believe you can do it without the power button. The issue will be rebooting to recovery after flashing it to flash SuperSU or magisk (if you don't do that or at least get into TWRP before first bit after flashing and delete the recovery from boot.p file, TWRP will be overwritten by default recovery and you have to flash again). While in fastboot mode, after flashing you could try and use:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
Not sure if that will get work or not while in fastboot mode, but something to try since your power button is broke.
Is it work on h860?

You can always check using LG bridge and use update feature. If just wanting to know because your wanting to root and get TWRP, try and follow the guide. If you're not on latest version you'll know because you won't be able to unlock the bootloader using fastboot. If you can unlock your bootloader, you're good to go.
Here's the link and info for LG bridge and using it to check for updates:

Bootloader Lock off Phone Brick

Hello friends.
I use the Huawei P10 lite model. I removed the bootloader lock and installed TWRP. I downloaded the stock recovery file to remove the root. Then relock the bootloader.
Huawei eRececovery is opening but the phone does not install or update with WiFi. I can not install from memory card with vol up + vol down + power keys. When it comes to % 5, it gives an error and the installation stops.
Fastboot is starting but I can not work with adb because the OEM lock is off. I can not open the oem lock because the phone is not turned on. Where can I find and download the Stock ROM file?
Phone model:
Huawei P10 lite WAS-LX1A Dual Sim
Android 7.0 & EMUI 5.1
I apologize for any errors in the translation.
Is the USB cable or charger plugged in when you try install from memory card with vol up + vol down + power keys ?
I unbricked mine with the 182 stock rom from here :

hi there im in need of some saving i cant relock i get FAILED (remote: root type is risk)
finished. total time: 0.000s please help

can't install TWRP

Yes I followed various guides but I am stuck.
So I did UNLOCK the bootloader
I did install (so I think) TWRP, with powershell, it seems all ok
PS C:\Users\1\Downloads\TWRP_raphael_K20PRO (1) fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
target reported max download size of 805306368 bytes
sending 'recovery' (65536 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.465s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.326s]
finished. total time: 1.798s
But when I press ON button plus VOLUME DOWN it comes the logo with FASTBOOT, and does nothing
If I press ON button plus VOLUME UP, it comes the Mi recovery app
So what is wrong?
Firstly, you boot into recovery by pressing V.Up and power, and you release as soon as Mi logo appears. V down and power puts you in fastboot.
Download the folder in this link and extract it and put your phone in fastboot and just run the file "flash_twrp.bat". It willl ask you to press any key multiple times. You can also replace the twrp file with a different version but you have to rename it to twrp.img

Do you have a MI 9T/K20 "Pro" variant? If no, NEVER flash a custom TWRP not designed for your current phone!
Use a Fastboot image to unbrick your phone, using "MiFlash Tool" -OR- use "XiaoMiTool V2".

Dude this is the forum for K20/Mi 9T. NOT the K20 Pro/ Mi 9T PRO. The two devices are different in methods and software. Why are you asking for help here?? Do you have K20/mi 9t or K20 pro/mi 9t pro?
