Is there any way to get a better quality?
Like 6000 Mbit download and 60 Hz like by the Xbox one?

Get Coreplayer, you can choose the format you want for youtube videos when browsing in it.
Coreplayer works!
So what exactly is "HIGH QUALITY" option in the Youtube menu then? What resolution would that fall under if it's not high def?

Likely 480p or some derivative of it for bandwidth reasons.
Before Youtube made the resolution-selector available, HQ was defined as fmt=18, which I believe was 480x360 or something

thanks. Maybe I have bad eyes, but I don't think I can tell the difference if it's any higher quality than that

How would you measure that?
Seems fast enough to me, but I have nothing to compare it with.
The quality of the EVO version is way better than the stock youtube app even if you do not have high quality by default enabled. Sometimes the video and audio is not sync'd.
Hi, I have not understood the resolution of dell streak video record.

all pda have 720p,radiofm.......I think that the pda producers study these deficiencies and so they can sell the next pda adding something
It's only vga resolution, but perhaps might get a 720P upgrade like other phones. It seems capable of 720P.
as long as the hardware supports it then I don't mind waiting...
The manual says when you send a video to a hd tv it sends it in 720p, so its in there some where

Thank you sir!
It might give 720 from Video Player, when You have 720p movie on Your memory card.
And camcorder is different thing; with recording VGA only.

no dell streak for me then.
I think it say vga and not 720p is because android 1.6 does not support 720p recording. Someone correct me if im wrong
It's quite possibly got the same chip as the N1 (the SOC does appear pretty close) and support for 720p came with the 2.x upgrade for that.
I reckon the hardware supports it, but we'll need a new software upgrade to do it.
take a look at the testing in this very forum to get 720p support on *ALL* snapdragon devices..

I wanted to see if anyone has been able to have by default high res youtube playback on 3g connection. I know that the youtube app will play higher resolution over wifi but on my old htc devices I was able to stream high definition over 3g.
I'm also intersted in this.

any other word on this. Will there have to be ann app for it. It sux having to watch the awful quality.
this reminds me of the my old iPhone3g,,,, it sucks having to watch youtube in that kind of resolution,,, and with the phone not supporting flash yet... there is no other option
Bump again for this topic. I'm surprised it's not talked about more.
I just came from a Samsung Captivate and it has an option to run video in HD. It took a little longer to load the film, but was well worth it!

Yes, just people with HTC devices are able to watch HQ videos...
That sucks! I would have just gotten the HTC Surround if it didn't look so cheap and have such bad reviews.
We can only hope that either MS or a developer can come up with some software to fix this... as I wouldn't see this as being a hardware issue.
Buy a "RealTube" app, works fine on any handset.
I love the G6 but 3 minute video files on lowest resolution of 720p are 300 MB.
Seems large. Is that normal?

I wonder why?
Are there comparable apps that produce good video and not produce HUGE files like the G6?
