i'm posting this thread because i've been struggling to get some help with this issue. i.ve googled for any fix but didnot find one...
motodefy on CM7
just unlocked my motodefy which was locked on orange before(unlockcode used),
i am now using a 3uk sim... 3uk settings is there in the APN
problems:
1.hangs when i am in the middle of a call ( cant here anything/cant do any call/ and cant receive any call) handset does not hang coz am able to move between menus, open and use apps)
2.after it hangs i cannot use data I.e download, google store coz that one freeze as well.
3. sometimes when its hangs, i cannot end the call (like if the dialer hangs is frozen, i press the end call button, it says hanging and it stays like that, but sometime it hangs the call !
4. the signal icon and the 3g/H icon is on the status bar, but they dont react.
5. i reboot everytime i have this issue... someime comes back online very nicely( with signal/3G/H icon showing on the statusbar) and some time it doesnt (meaning the signal is there but not the 3G/H) ... when it does come back online nicely ... i start to use some data... example i am using google play, it will let me download some apps .. but eventually it will stop working in the next 5 mins ??? and after this again i will not b able to call blablabla ... same stuff as above ...
ANYONE, OTHER THAN ME EVER HAD THIS WEIRD ISSUE WITH THEIR DEFY BEFORE ??
Try wiping all data/cache in recovery

why dont you try wiping away all you data from the recovery mode and then reboot it once again.

oh.. u know i like changing/trying roms ...eventually at first when i had this issue i did a factory reset/wipe from the recovery and installed the cm7 again but its a persisting issue ... i just took to 3uk shop .. they told me they cant do anything coz its not a 3 handset their customer service was not able to help me either ... i am really really desperate to get it fixed ....
No problem if i use an orange sim
i would like to point out that i do not have any problem when i am using an orange sim in my defy ... callss/txt .. unfortunately no credit to try data but i can surf a bit of orange pages without any trouble ... why is it like that with 3uk
I don't know the reason, but sometimes I had this type of problem with my Defy (green lenses) and CM7. After a hardware issue I take it to the service and they replace the whole main body. So now it has red lenses and I switch to a CM9 nightly ROM (CM9-NIGHTLY-120613-Defy+ from Eclypse3). Don't know why, but my problems with the calls hangups and connectivity solved.
Thank you for your help everyone ....although i am in uk am able to use the Vecton sim with USA baseband its on trial for the moment .. we'll see if theres a glitch i'll keep updating

another issue now with my galaxy s4!
I'm having a problem with my Samsung galaxy s4.The phone was with orange (France) contract,but now it is unlocked.The phone sent me update notifications so i updated it.After that the problem started.When im calling someone the screen turns black and after 3-4 seconds it shows a message reading "Unfortunately,IMS Framework has stopped".
What to do with it??!!
Can i change software version?? Maybe it stops doing that!! How can i change software version??

1.sumtimes my screen freezes when i get cal...screen doesnot response at all,,,den i hav turn of the screen and turn on again to make it work
2.sumtimes when i get a cal screen goes dark like 1-2 sec den screen shows the caller name or number
3.i cant switch to call..for example : i am talking over phone in the mean time i get another call..if i want to receive the later one it does not swicth..it says unable to switch call...
anyone here experiencing this?? or any solution?? i didnt not factory reset after updating to kitkat...but i will reset now,,,lets see what happens..

i have a few problems with my Galaxy E7 and im will very grateful if anyone help me by answering my questions
1. Biggest Problem : some times my phone dosent receive any text msg (sms) until i reboot my phone , i dont know anything about the reason of this problem and even i dont know when should i Expect for this problem, it happening Accidentally, when this is happening, i cant receive or even send any sms, the funny thing is when somebody try to send me an sms (when i am in this problem), they dont get delivered report, all of them see "the msg dident delivered" :| how is possible?
i test GoSMS, Google Messenger, stock samsung SMSapp and many other apps. but this problem is never solved for ever , any time that i reboot my phone it works good and one day i see this is happened again. my sim-card or local network dosent have any problem and what ever it is, its 100% related my phone, so have you same problem? or is just me?
2. second problem: i search many many time but i cant any app or modules that remove AUTOBRIGHTNESS in low battery, samsung set brightness to Lowest level when battery charge get under 5%, but i dont want this :| how shoud i cancel this feature?
Your phone has already been changed, rooted ROM ?

Well about the first problem, If the one who sends you the SMS don't get delivered report, then It's your local network problem not the phone.
If you changed the rom. You should reinstal software using Samsung Kies. It will get your phone back to factory. It will unroot it and put stock rom.
Does anyone has a custom rom or recovery for Samsung galaxy E7? I cannot find a single rom for it.
If anyone has, please provide it. It will be very kind.

As far as i know there is not rom for E series devices. They are in progres.

In the UAE and got a sparkling s8, but for 4 days now once a day, while on a call the call drops, signal indicator shows no service and then comes back. Problem is after this happens i am not able to make or receive calls as the other party cant here me. The phone needs to restarted and then works normally.
Has any one else experienced this. I had a chat to Sammy support and all they want to do is to change the SIM. I dont find this acceptable. Has anyone else had similar problem or do you know of any radio updates that could be applied.

Ican confirm that, it's happened with me exactly the same.
I am in uae using Etisalat in both sims.
Hope samsung solve it in next update, it's annoying.

I am using it in Australia, didn't had any issue at in past 3 days. I got my phone from 24th April. It could be your carrier issue as 2 reports are from UAE only. Who is your carrier provider?
I am also using etisalat.
Any one facing this issue in defiant carrier!
I think i figure out what coz the problem.
I am using app called "dual sim selector" pro version when I disable it all are ok.. Really strange i use this app in other phone with no problem. @stiaandxb are you using this app or similar?
I am in UAE on etisalat and facing the exact same issue with the new galaxy S8. Just hoping that it get solved by some software update.
Sound/Audio problem
I am also facing similar audio problem in Germany on O2. Sometimes when i call somebody and he picks the call. The audio totally disappears. I can't hear him and he can't hear me. After that all sounds from the mobile stops workings. No audio from Music player or videos comes out. If somebody calls me, no ringtone is played neither vibration works. Only system vibration works during SMS reception.
It seems like phone app somehow blocks all the sounds.
The behavior is random. It happens once a day on some call. The only solution to resolve this situation is by restarting the phone.

I got this exactly on my S8 in Bahrain, VIVA, then replaced with S8+ it is even worse than that.
I am from Egypt and face the same problem, call drops then no sound whatsoever until i restart my phone , S8+ dual sim (etisalat + vodafone)
Did anyone find a solution for this? I have the same issue. Galaxy S8+ in Cyprus/Vodafone? Happens every day and the phone needs restart for sounds to come back to life.
Same issue here in IndiaS8+ ( Vodafone +Jio). Tried resetting also. Then happened again once a week ago. Also note that when this happens phone stops behaving like crazy. Can't play video, audio or even network goes down. Both speakers can't play audio(for calls too)
Secondly, when switching the sim for mobile data ( say sim 1 to sim 2) the network goes down and never comes up until you switch back to the old settings of mobile data.
After restart phone behaves normally with proper audio through both the speakers.
Lastly, yesterday while playing asphalt 8, the phone( game) was lagging. There were many frame drops and stutters also the phone was working like it has onlh 512 mb ram. And then suddenly it got freezed with black screen. I had to force restart it by pressing power+Bixby key.
Let me know if anyone find solution for these.

No solution found until now. Talked to Samsung Germany, they asked for factory reset and safe mode. Nothing worked.

i updated my phone to firmware G955FXXU1AQF7 and i can confirm that the phone has been running without this issue for 5 days now. issue was happening twice a day every day before.
Now for 5 straight days no issue what so ever. My phone is the S8+

Regarding game lagging issue, may be it can be resolved in Game Launcher by setting performance to "High performance" in the right bottom of Game Launcher.

We haven't yet got AQF7 for galaxy S8 in Germany. I have narrowed down the problem to some conditions. May be you can try this to try reproducing the problem. S8 or S8+ must be connected to GSM network in 3G mode, and the other phone must also be connected in 3G mode. Now call from S8/+ to other phone and put the mobile to your ear so that the screen is off (because of proximity sensor) while the bell is ringing. Now pick the call from other phone. Normally in first 2 seconds of call, phone goes to silent mode. Phone goes in silent mode in 5 to 10 calls and then you have to restart.

i will try to do that but please note that the phone was having this issue since day one. no matter what i had. 3G or 4G. Usually it was happening after 3-4 minutes or if i was in a low signal area or driving.
I tested with the update and my issue is gone so far with a lot of testing with calls more than 20 minutes straight
The good thing is that is seems now that this is not a hardware but software issue.

It never happened on my S8 in 2G or 4G. It always happened in the beginning of the call and never appeared once a call has successfully passed first five seconds. But once it appeared, the only solution is to restart. I am unable to find any other solution until now.

I was using the phone on auto 2G/3G/4G and it was always happening.
I tried 4G only and i had the same issue.
I tried 2G/3G and i had the same issue.
Now with the update i am always on auto again and issue is gone since last Wednesday.
Another thing we discovered is that in Cyprus everyone who had the S8+ and the carrier was Vodafone had this issue. Everyone who was with MTN did not.

Yes, a firmware is available for Germany (Vodafone). My S8 is carrier independent and i don't want to write it using odin. I will wait for the OTA update.
