Zero... Just another fluff piece with no solid reference to back it up, like dozens of other articles about Nougat out there.
Will we get it? Probably
When? Before January 1... With 90% certainty
That's my opinion, about as reliable as the article referenced.

We have some great ROM developers on this device, I'm sure we'll even see 7.0 on one of the custom ROMs by sometime in September or at most by the end of the year.
As for Lenovorola's official updates/OTA, I'm with @acejavelin on that we will probably get it, but there's really no saying when.

When are we getting the 4G upgrade for the Verizon Xoom?

anyone know when are we getting the 4G upgrade for the Verizon Xoom?
I would assign a high probability that someone knows, yes.
I heard for sometime May/June but I have not seen an official answer anywhere. Same with the official update to enable the microsd slot. Very silent and very irritating.

Considering they already have our money and most people are way out of the return period why should they care??!
I read somewhere that it will be this summer.
I'm getting tired of waiting around for Motorola to update this thing. I would rather have a series of smaller updates that fix things progressively rather than one big update that I have to wait around for.
I could care less about the LTE upgrade. I just want bluetooth fixed. Official forums said the update was coming at the end of March......
Great device. I use it constantly. But it needs some fixes.
I remember the initial release saying it would be about 3 months after it was released. So hopefully we will get it at the end of may. For most of what I do the 3g is fine, and I wont have 4g in my area until closer to the end of this year anyway. I would like the SD card to work but not ready to root this thing, yet...

Smaller updates = more updates = higher risk of bricks = less profit when said bricks happen.

yep you are right, that's why i put my cotsco receipt in the vault, in 35 days if there are no signs of updates, it is going back!!
I'm suprised this hasn't been announced yet..
False advertising
At what point does it become false advertising? When is it a legal issue to where this opens Motorola open for class action lawsuits for not having advertised features that are not there and without any official communication of when they will be available???? I know I bought my Xoom based on the 4G feature. When are they held responsible for this?
Thread cleaned. Keep this on topic and friendly, or infractions and bans will be issued. Thank you,

Gingerbread out to Testers

Looks like I didn't make the cut to be among the 1000 beta testers, dang it. I completed the survey within 15 mins of receiving the email, guess that wasn't fast enough.
Fingers crossed no issues are found and everyone gets it soon.
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2011/0...erbread-update-rolls-out-to-some-users-today/
i dont know why people are acting like gingerbread isn't already here...
You don't want the OTA. The upgrade in SOAK will stop you flashing back. After its released the devs will dig into it to see what is different to the leaked OTA.
Beamed from WinBorg 4G via XDA Premium
Just because you dont have the OTA yet doesnt mean you where not picked. When its full the survey actually closes so if you filled it out you usually get the Soak. And like stated dont blindly update the OTA if you are unlocked or dont want to risk not being able to downgrade.

So, as of right now, I am running 1.83 with GladiAtrix, locked bootloader, and very happy.
When the OTA goes out to everybody who is on AT&T, who isn't in the SOAK, I know that I will have to flash back in order to actually get the OTA because of the changes to my file system. You are saying that this new OTA will prohibit me from being able to unlock my bootloader, when the time comes that I want to do that?
Personally I don't do custom ROMs (or unlock the bootloader) until the phone is out of warranty or Moto made it official not to release new updates. I can't rely on bugs in custom ROMs...learned the hard way a while back.
With that said, didn't Moto hint to be unlocking the bootloader with the Gingerbread update?

The OTA that was released a little while bricked people who tried to SBF down to a lower firmware. This OTA will most likely do the exact same thing.
I'm not sure if Pudding would work or not with this future OTA.

At&t version must be rewponsible for 30% of the market or less. I'm talking about the international version. Battery life sucks , wallpapers take a phone reset to re apply, widgets may go missing, some phones are overheating... of fourse, some have no problems at all, but this is certainly not a final release.

Flashing around with RSD is bad in general. There wont be a reason to flash back to older builds since the bootloader is now unlocked. One little glitch while using RSD can result in a brick. Careful what you post about the Moto-OTA test. The main email said not to mention anything about the soak. This is the 4th post I have seen about it now even if you didnt get in, the NDA was still agreed too and now violated again.

Hints on lollipop release date!

I was talking to live chat with Motorola support and managed to get connected to an employee who seemed to not care that the chat session was monitored.
I was asking about general stuff related to my battery and the Turbo. Towards the end of the chat I figured this guy might have some kind of idea whats going on in the company that he works for. So I asked about the release date for 5.0.
He answered very enthusiastically and hinted that Motorola is ready to release the update and that the only thing next on their list is to select an official Advert with Verizon. From the sound of it - we will not be experiencing the usual delay that Verizon has created for updates. Expect Lollipop on your Droid Turbo by December 1st.
Me personally. I'm waiting for root and boot unlock. But for all of you happy with Lollipop the wait is not too long.
Lets see if this all plays true come December 1st.

How many phones have not been rooted? In my personal experience every phone I've ever owned has eventually gotten root.
G1 (HTC dream)
HTC mytouch slide
Thunderbolt
Galaxy s4
I know there's probably a bunch of phones that haven't been rooted but are there any phones with high demand for root that have not been rooted?

I feel the same way. Verizon is the ultimate decision maker which is why it makes sense that the Motorola rep said "waiting on Verizon to pick an advertisement" advertisements announce dates... So on so forth. Even if I have to wait it's okay because

Yeah, with JCase saying that Sunshine V3.0 can't support Motorola on 4.4.4, and the secure kernel crap that will block root on Lollipop, I think this phone will stay stock unless a Chinese middleman pops up again or something.
Guys just realize you can kiss any hope of an unlock and root exploit goodbye if you update. It's going to suck; either choose unlock or 5.0
I pretty much left root behind when I got the Turbo. Moved to the share plan so I don't need the hotspot hack. I used TiBu a lot moving from phone to phone and ROM to ROM but I really didn't have much data that I had to have. Mostly when I was listening to back catalogs of Podcasts I would want to restore the app I was using so it kept my place. Now I have moved on to something different. And I did lose some game data but it was stupid stuff like Temple Run and Monsters Ate My Condo, nothing like an RPG or something. And really thats what root did for me. I am ready for 5.0.
I also think that the 5.0 update will have VoLTE. Maybe they got Google to roll it into 5.0 so instead of hitting each device individually with a VoLTE update, if they get 5.0 they will also get VoLTE (and it brings the Nexus 6 on VoLTE faster as well).

Chainfires detailed post on how root will more than likely (read; definitely) going to need a custom kernel to work. Kernel flashes need an unlocked bootloader. 5.0 comes with even more selinux restrictions which make any kind of exploitation harder. All in all, 5.0 is way more locked down and harder to unlock. Simply getting a root exploit without unlock is not likely

Just downloaded a 112mb update

Was hopeful that it was lollipop, but it's not.
Pretty sure lollipop will be a much bigger download since it's a major overhaul.
Cool story welcome to NK2 aka last week
Since I just got my new GN2 on Tuesday, the OTA update I received looks like it took me from version NIE to NK2. I have since rooted using CFAutoroot.
lollipop won't be until February and it will be version 5.0.1, I think samsung doesn't want to take 5.0 because some of the problems it has.

ZTE's German website not working again?

Hey guys,
I just tried to open the German ZTE website (ztemobile.de ) and I was immediately redirected to the Chinese one (zte.com.cn). Is anyone else having the same problem?
I was browsing their forums about 1 hour ago. I tried the same links recently and they appear to also redirect to the CN website.
http://www.ztemobile.de/forums/forum/zte-axon-serie-forum/zte-axon-7-forum/
I am trying to practice restraint with all things ZTE nowadays. (HOWEVER) While the maintenance a few days ago appeared harmless enough, this general redirect is worrying.

Oh damn. Immediately had a look and yes, it redirects to the chinese site. Even the forum link i had saved does the same. Really weird. Since april is ending and all the the issues we had with the german site and the firmware downloads, zte really needs to make a statement to its users. They really should come clean and give us a clear answer whats happening. Although we all are 90% sure we know whats going on, they still should give an answer to customers. At least somewhere around the beginning of the next month.

I would assume this silence has to do with their shares value. I believe that at the moment lawyers are running most things in ZTE until the dust settles down. They appear to be in damage control mode.

Could be. But it wont help if the worried customers get louder and louder. Sooner or later they have to respond to minimize the damage to their business.
I'm still clueless as who to believe in this case. Usa claims zte has violated the sanctions etc, zte claims otherwise. Currently im giving zte the benefit of the doubt since usa is really going after china like crazy recently.

I'll try not to jump to conclusions but this is somewhat worrying. Also, at first I blamed ZTE but seeing what's happening to Huawei aswell now, I'm not sure if this isn't just the US "playing games".
I am not sure if this has any significance at all, but I noticed that axon 7 disappeared completely from the support pages at https://www.ztedevices.com/en/support/
I tried for a few countries and it's not there any longer.
I think this is a good sign, the Oreo release might be imminent; however, after 1 month and a half, ZTE is still not listed as a certified partner on the Android page https://www.android.com/certified/partners/
