Hey, so I was just wondering, does anyone else have a small blue/red light visible on their screen over dark backgrounds? I'm not sure when it could've happened, but apparently too much pressure was applied and now my screen is slightly damaged. Depending on the angle I look at it, the light is either red or blue.
Is there any fix to this? Will replacing the screen work, or will I need to start saving up for a replacement device? I'm not entirely averse to doing that; the magnetic lock/wake sensor is on the wrong side of the phone, the bottom speaker grille is loose, and now this issue is present (I probably caused this one, but still). I just thought this phone would last a couple more years tbh.

Hi,
When charging, the amber light comes on and just above that where the top of the screen meets the metal frame there appears to be a leakage of light giving the impression the phone is not sealed properly or i cant work out if its a reflection of the amber lite hitting the metal frame, i pulled out the plug and had a close look under sunlight and i could not see any miniscule gap but it is a bit weird, just wondered if anyone else identifies, if not then there must be a tiny gap and the top of the phone cant be sealed properly, i have only had it 2 days and its BNIB.
Feedback appreciated
Thanks

Can you stop opening new "light-threads"...
As a fresh owner I have a few questions:
1 - The lower right corner of the front panel wobbles (?), moves slightly on touch, I can press it for about 1mm (see the attached screen). It is especially annoying when pressing OK or dial off (or whatever the button is called). Is it normal?
2 - The screen has a slight green tone (hue), can anything be done with it?
3 - LCD has noticeable light leaking near the bottom side, again, is it normal? (Well, the screen does not work now anyway, gotta flash the phone.)
Thanks

(1) I have no issues with this, seams fine on mine
(2) I cannot notice any hue, maybe you have a faulty unit given the blue colour and the movement of the panel.
(3) Yes LCD light is noticible, I also get leaks through the optical pad when I have the notification LED's on
1. I got some small loose on the front pannel upper area, it's especially felt when You hold the phone in one hand and work with Your thumb pressing the screen or just put the phone to You ear. You feel then the pannel moves a bit down. Maybe thats normal or just the build quality is not so good at all.
sounds like you have a faulty one. mine is solid as a rock. the loose screen and the green hue could be related. there shouldnt be any discolouration at all and i can only see it getting worse to be honest. where did you get it? if its somewhere reputable then id take it back and ask for a decent one while its still in warranty.
i do have tiny bit of light leakage near the buttons, that does seem common.
Mine is well made too, no hardware problems.
I have a silver one, solid as a rock, light leaks are present though...
So, I guess I screwed with something on my phone, but my display now shows "color bleeding" mostly when i open the phone up in horizontal mode. Would this be a problem with the flex cable? if so, just replacing that cable should fix the problem right?
I am able to disassemble the whole phone no problem.
I am experiencing the exact same issue, its bloody annoying.
I'm fairly certain it is the ribbon, but I wouldn't know where to get a new one, so havn't tried swapping it yet.
Did try disassembling and cleaning it out a bit though, no luck

Could you post a picture of what you're talking about?
Sadly enough, I do not have a camera other than the one on my dz... a screenshot wouldn't do anything since it just looks fine.. but it's something with the physical hardware part. I'll see if I can borrow a friend's camera when it happens again, but essentially the red and blue colors look like it's splotched in different parts and sometimes it even "pulsates"
it doesn't do it in vertical mode, but in horizontal mode.. it appears instantly.
Thanks to someone in another post that led me to the amazon link for the ribbon cable.. the phone now has no color bleed. Woohoo!

It works great and looks exactly like the original.
I'm experiencing a slight color disfiguration. I traded my girlfriend my phone for a few days and when i got it back, the bottom half has a yellowish tint. Is the flex ribbon the reason why it's like this?
is it the same tint whether or not you're in vertical or horizontal (keyboard open) mode?
if so it might be your flex cable or it might be the actual screen itself.
Yeah, the yellow (and now with blue) tint is in both modes. lower half of both sides (vertical and horizontal)
wait, does the tint change on the screen? as in does the tint stay in the bottom half of the vertical screen and stays in the right half in horizontal? or does it shift so that it goes to the bottom half in horizontal? if it stays in the same physical space in both modes, then it might be the screen itself, but if it shifts.. it's most probably the flex cable.
yeah, it shifts. but now the blue and yellow lines is throughout the screen. initially, i thought it was a ROM thing, so i changed it to see it in a different rom.
sounds like a flex cable problem. I can't guarantee it since it's one of those "replace it and see if it works" deal.
I have dropped my S4 a few times, luckily most of the times it was with the ultra thin plastic case. Case did the trick of stopping the glass shattering, but I've noticed an irregular shape appearing beneath the glass in the upper right edge (where the phone has fallen once). The irregularly shaped blob has different colour than the rest of the blue bezel around the screen, it seems that the screen has delaminated from the blue background layer on that part. Phone works without any problems.
Has anyone else been having the same problem (I've seen it also on my colleagues S4, same reason), and is there any easy way to fix it (applying heat/pressure to the delaminated part or something similar)?
The glass digitizer screen is stuck on to the LED screen behind it with an Optical Glue.
I wouldn't think that a small part would come away like that, more likely you have damaged the LED screen.
Sooo, was wondering if anyone else has come accross an issue like this. I received my LG G6 yesterday, brand new out of the box. While watching the Stranger Things title sequence on Netflix last night in a dark room with brightness turned close to max, I couldn't help but notice a red "smudge" like artifact on the screen (see picture). Strangely enough, the smudge almost goes completely away when applying pressure to the screen above it, and becomes very much more visible when applying pressure to the screen below it. Also, it only seems to be visible on a black background with the brightness ramped up above 65%, and disappears completely with any other color. So strange..
I remember back when the iPhone 4 came out, there were complaints of a yellow smudge on the display of many units. Apple mentioned that it was caused by some sort of bonding agent used during assembly of the phones that had not yet fully dried, and that it would go away after a few days. I wonder if this is also being caused by something like that, and if I should wait, or just ask for a replacement ASAP. Thoughts?
