I bought xiaomi redmi 2A on ebay, this model :
Xiaomi Redmi 2A Android Smartphone 4.7" 4G TDD-LTE 2GB+16GB 8MP Dual SIM Noir
I have only english and chineese language and i would like to change to french language. I wanted to change the language and followed one tutorial on the website xiaomi-france.com .
But the process has failed and after some research i found that i have a unknow model of redmi 2A which is 2014502.
I dont know this model and update with the update software on miui doesn't work, and i dont know if i can change the rom / install twrp or something without brick the phone...
Someone have information about that ? Any help is welcome, thanks

after some search i read that you cannot use the same rom of redmi 2/pro to your phone, because they have different chipset, maybe with some deep search you can find the files for your phone

If process stuck on 50% try again few times. Then flash China Dev rom, usually it helps.
2. Yes, patch for fixing bad recorded sound compatible with any rom for now.

Chinese and International device versions have different bands support, Google it.
4. Bootloop only if you freeze Google Search app (Launcher3), other apps safe to disable.
Root: via MyAndroidTools disable all it's recievers and it won't start automatically.

About 3 question, i own a redmi 3s working with 8.1.1.0 global estable, but i find that latest versión is 8.1.5.0 chinese and eu rom, i want know if i install the "eu" rom will i have problems with ril (data)

Rom version not affect bands / radio behaviour.
I've been lurking around this forum section for a while but couldn't find a clear answer to my question :
what are the hardware differences between A2017 model ( chinese ) and A2017G model ( european )?
is it doable to get a full software replica (including OTAs ) of the european model by flashing a chinese bought model?
the only difference i could detect so far is the zte logo on the chinese version
Software, I assume, it is not a problem. The main differences are in radio modules. Each model supports different LTE Bands., e.g. A2017G supports LTE B28 but model U and Chinese doesn't.
I'm planning to buy this device as well, but I don't really like the capacitive buttons of the EU version.
I'm reading throught various thread but I cannot find an answer for the following question : if I buy the chinese A2017 model with on screen navbar (softkeys) will I be able to install LineageOS ? For example the Unjustified Dev's builds ?
As much as I've understood CM13 works ok, but Lineage 14.1 does not because of older bootloader

You need unlocked bootloader.
Yes it is possible to change EU version download
Fastboot rom eu version and flash with mi flash tools
Download the same version .the difference
1(for working face unlock don't need change country
2) privacy and personal data.

Now my next question, if you don't mind:
I already own the phone so I can't do nothing about it, but I'm getting tired of all this forced protection "for my own good". I live in a free country and I'm not used to this kind of BS.
So, can I get rid of MIUI for good and start having full control on MY phone? this includes getting rid of google spyware as much as possible.
Can you point me in the right direction?

I just found e.foundation site. It seems to have all I need, absolutely ungoogled
They have a section in the forum to request new supported devices. I was the third to ask it for Redmi 7A.
Could it be of interest?
Before unlocking I'm studying possible choices to live without google/xiaomi spyware and crapware.

I tried and it is fine you can install the fastboot eea rom and relock the bootloader if you phone is the global version. It is not the same as trying to install the china rom since the eea rom is essentially the global rom with the option to opt of personalised ads and some other privacy enhancements. It won't brick your phone (I am not talking about the xiaomi.eu roms which do need to have the bootloader permanently unlocked).
