Hi all, I've been through all the S4 forums looking for a version of aosp camera with photosphere or a 360 panorama but I can't find it. It seems like not long ago I was seeing quite a bit of talk about it and now I can't find much of anything.
I am on liquid smooth 2.10 and there's no photosphere. If anybody could point me to a thread or even just a link to download the camera that would be greatly appreciated.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2443414
Here is a thread with the a flashable photosphere camera that worked for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2398594
And this is the moto x camera which works except for HDR and slow mo.
As I'm sure this thread is probably a duplicate or triplicate or whatever, mods should feel free to delete.

CM camera app is stable now, although its output leaves a bit to be desired. The only real bug with it now is low volume when recording video. There is a ported version of the ASUS camera app that gives OK results for photos, but video is not working on that.
I am using this apk. thanks dude!

Does the Google Camera app work/work well?

As far as I can tell, identical to the CM AOSP camera app with just the addition of lens blur function (which kind of works, unlike the depth of field mode on the ported ASUS camera app, which crashes on mine). Both the stock and Google apps produce very grainy results though. The ported ASUS app is better.

Thank you so much! Would you happen to know if the ASUS camera works if I pull the APK and use it in CyanogenMod? My new ASUS Zenfone 2 is scheduled to arrive in the mail tomorrow.

I am using it in Cyanogen, someone ported it to work (you can't just download it from the playstore, you need a ported version). If you search the Cyanogen thread on the Zenfone 2 Original Android Development sub-page, you can find the link for it. They got the flash working, and most of the modes (super res, manual etc) seem to function. But as I said, video recording is broken, and the depth of field mode also crashed for me.
I just got my new Mi A1 and i found that the stock camera app is very good in good light conditions, although in poor light i got only blurred photos.. I tried to install the google camera (stock apk and also the hdr+ mod) but it always freeze and stop when i launch it.. I don't have root, so camera2 api aren't activated (and the hdr+ don't work without that), but i thought i could have used the google camera as a normal camera app just to try it.. are there any good camera alternatives that i can try or should i root to improve photo quality in low light?
Without rooting i don't think you can improve camera quality much
Maybe you can try open camera and see if it helps much.
I tried most camera apps out there and the best option is root, enable EIS/Camera2 in the build prop and ported Google cam with HDR+.
Rooting is easy enough on the A1, but if you don't want to do that try the latest HTC camera on apkmirror. Only thing not working on that camera is the HDR mode; it crashes if you turn it on. It will give you better photos indoors with normal lighting conditions. Low light/night will still be quite blurry.
Thanks a lot, i'll try the opencamera and the htc one, cause i decided to wait until andorid oreo for root.. ? anyway, any idea why the google camera apk (from apkmirror) doesn't work?

Because you need to enable Camera2 API in the build.prop. Otherwise it won't work.
You can install an old version of the Google cam like v2.7 but then you don't have HDR+. Other than that it works fine, though.
Try AZ camera
Well this is just my view but after trying open camera,
Snapdragon camera, the default camera hht mode, and bacon camera. I got the best results for night shots using the bacon camera manual mode and selecting the Sutter speed set to the lowest of 1/8 but keep in mind you need to keep your hands very steady. I used my selfie stick as a stand it helped me keep steady.

Because google doesn't support dual camera.
If I root my device will I get Google upgrade via OTA?
I use this port by B-S-G (MGCB_7.0H_C2API_Min_v.1.4.apk):

I edited the build.prop and added the camera2api without root. Both cameraapps work properly (GCam and MiCamera).
It improves camera qualitiy very much, especially in low light conditions

How did you edit build.prop without root? Also the link leads to a 403 forbidden page... at least for me

And one month later you'll ask why OTA update fails to apply.. Just wondering, why do you prefer direct modification of system files instead of systemless Magisk? It really puzzles me why some people do and suggest this without mentioning the drawbacks.

Oneplus camera. Working fine.

If u do it without touching system partition, yes. Can be done with Magisk and the module in the Mi A1 development section.

Front camera doesn't work, neither does access to photo galley. Also photo taken was quite small file size, open camera seems better. This was with Jan 18 updated one plus camera app
Try Bacon Camera (CameraApi2 Free)
Check out the bacon camera from play store, you don't require root and it is specifically made for non supported CameraApi2 Phones,
It has a ton of manual settings.
Hope it helps
i use this port:
"scrubber_GCam_5.1.018_25 (scrubber, 2018-01-09, no config needed, changelog)"
i am new user, so i can't post links. Just google it and search for celsoazevedo.com.
The you can find almost all ports that were mentioned here (requires root)

Edit: nvm found out it needs root.
Running LOS 14/crDroid right now.
What IR app should I be using?
And is there any camera mod that increases the quality?

I have recently discovered this camera with the help of the xda community and find it to be a great tool, https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-arnova8G2/#apk290 . I am trying to work through issues with the software but am having a couple of issues. I can't seem to find an xda topic post about the camera software where I can ask questions. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks for any help.

I am having issues with the Flash. If I shoot in almost no light when I press the shutter button the flash will fire, it will stay on momentarily and then the app will crash (Camera has Stopped, Open app again). If I leave the flash disabled there are no problems. Also... In complete darkness, if I tap the screen to focus on a particular point the flash should turn on to assist the focus. This just eliminates the ability for me to take 'better' night shots.
Other than that this camera is spectacular. The pictures it is able to produce through the software-hardware combination are really impressive. I also like the fact that that it brings Portrait and Lens Blurr to the camera. Best camera app I have used to date.

I took a look briefly at Camera NX and it seems that Arnova's has a lot more options to fine-tune under Advanced. In the end, it is all about the pictures. Give it a try and post back.
