Do some research - there is plenty of information here about everything you have asked.

Hi there, first post for me, first day with my O2 XDA Orbit 2. Pardon my ignorance, I've always been a Nokia man, but the orbit 2 seems to be "O2'd" and different to the Touch Cruise I've seen in videos on the net.
I'm hoping this is the same as mobile operators do with Nokia's, and that you can just change the firmware to the standard one.
Having a read, I'm a bit confused between radio versions, rom versions, cooking, language files, reg editing, etc, and was hoping someone could answer the following...
1) Is there an easy way to make my orbit a standard Touch Cruise?
2) Are there any downsides, apart from warranty? i.e. Loss of functions?
Thanks for any assistance! Apologies again for being a noob!
1. Easy enough if you know what you are doing which requires a lot of reading of the wiki and various forums like Kaiser forum for example. This thread would be a good place to start.
2. You may brick you device.
Fantastic. Thanks for the steer Abbsta. I'm a bit wiser now!
I've also seen this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=352625
... called Polaris Project, and I think the output of that is what I'm looking for.
It is indeed. But that is only the ROM and you would need to know/do other things first. That's why it's encouraged to read other threads like the one I pointed out and the wiki.
Hey Guys,
Firstly, I normally just lurk around here, helping where I can and generally just absorbing the info. XDA is a great forum, its a veritable gold mine which has helped me over and over again - so first things first I just wanted to say thank you to all the members (especially the Blackstone and Leo guys)...
So I have been following a bunch of threads about screen sensitivity and keyboard sensitivity etc, everyone is either happy or complaing its too sensitive or not sensitive enough. Given that everyone has different "views" and different expectations (fat and thin fingers!) I thought it might be a good idea to get a "standard" set of sensitivity values (from the registry) and explain what each the keys in the TouchPanel regtree does. There are loads of keys in there and personally I dont follow what most of them really do (my assumption is that they control all aspects of the screen (and its related sensitivity))...
Anyway, the common theme that I am seeing through all of the threads on Sensitivity is that everyone seems to have different values in the reg. Whether that is coming from BSB / HD2Tweak use, Cooked ROMs or differing Stock ROMs I dont know, but before we can really compare anything we need to test a "standard". Not a standard for you or me, but a standard that can be used to test (for example the 8787 hotfix (touch.dll)).
Maybe we could all export our TouchPanel regkeys and post mentioning which HD2 model you own and what ROM being used...
I dont know if this is useful, but it seems that every thread on sensitivity ends up with some people loving any proposed changes and other saying its terrible and undoing / uninstalling. So its hard to discern if there is any "real" tangible benefits / changes...
Just a thought, dont know if it will help or if anyone is that interested but I thought I would suggest it.
Lets see what the general feelings are around the board, we should define a set of standard information for submisson then collect and analyse...
I am willing to help out, but dont know if I have enough tech know-how to define the info we need...

Hello,
because I’m a newbie, I hope to be in the right forum (because I only have question but no answer …).
Here’s my problem:
I can’t get GPS to work on my Samsung J320F (2016)! It always “seems” to function, but neither Google-Maps can find a position, nor openstreetmap. When I try to look after the actual address, mostly a place some kilometers away from my position is shown (if at all …).
Since now I’ve tried about nearly 10 different ROM-images, most of them had been called “stable“, and other users wrote about their working GPS.
Actually, I’ve installed RR-N-v5.8.5-20181025-j3xlte-Unofficial (2nd version with the same name …), before that I tried e.g. lineage-14.1-20190705-UNOFFICIAL-j3xlte.zip, RR-N-v5.8.5-20171003-bacon-Unofficial-RomilParh, DreamReborn1.4.zip, lineage-13.0-20170715-UNOFFICIAL-j3xnlte, lineage-13.0-20171128-UNOFFICIAL-j3xnlte.zip or lineage-13.0-20180208-UNOFFICIAL-j3xnlte.
Does anybody have a hint what I might do wrong, or how I could fix or at least locate the problem?
Everything else mostly works fine, and with the original operating system (Android 5.1) also GPS worked.
Thanks in advance
Christoph

Hello together,
it looks like I have found the solution! It wasn’t the ROM or OS, but just the map-software I used seems to be faulty.
When I take the app "maps.me" instead of google maps or openstreetmap, everything works fine! (And to find out this, I needed several days …)
So, the thread can be closed. Maybe it can help others with a similar problem.
Bye,
Christoph

Hi All,
I'm looking to upgrade my old MTCD android head unit and I noticed these new Tesla style devices having much bigger screens. Unfortunately, from the device description from different sites and sellers as well as from the forum, I was not able to understand if it makes any sense to go for one of these tesla models.
The following few questions keep me absolutely puzzeled:
1. It seems that the bottom of the screeb is busy with the climate controls. For my car however the physical climate controls stay intact so I dom't understand what's the point of these virtual ones. Does it show some more information or what? Does this bottom part of the screen havr any other function?
2. For my current device, I was used to downloading ROMs from xda devs forum. However I didn't find a separate forum thread for these tesla style ROMs is it the same ROM as for the "classic" devices?
3. There is a thread about tesla style devices in the forum, however most about the posts there are about rooting the devices. Is rooting a must to have these devices usable?
Any advise or comparison is greatly appreciated,
Thanks
I'm also interested to know the answers to these questions, so it'd be great if anybody that has one of these units could please respond.
I'd also like to ask, can you use split screen on these between two regular android apps (like Poweramp and Waze for example)? I've seen lots of videos of these units on Youtube but they only focus and the stock apps (like audio and video players) which I don't intend to use much since I already have other Android apps that I like.
Thanks in advance.
