Visual Voice Mail apk - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Was wondering if anyone that was rooted would upload their VVM apk from their phone so I can have it on my 935U flashed phone without sprints bloatware

Really? All these rooted people and can't pull an apk from their phone? C mon root people, help ya brother out

I would love the stock Sprint S7 VVM APK to install on my SM-G935U as well (I'm using Sprint service on Ting at the moment). I would like to add that it doesn't take a rooted phone to pull an APK. I do it all of the time using File Explorer without root.

There are apk files available for that app but the problem is unless you successfully root and change the build prop file to the correct settings, the visual voicemail app won't register correctly/work. Do a search for visual voicemail in the 930u firmware thread and start reading.

That explains my problems. I have snagged a couple of versions of the APK, some are the latest from my legit Sprint S5, and they don't seem to register properly. In fact, in the process I learned about another "bug" bothering folks with unlocked S7s. There is a rogue "2 messages pending delivery" or some similar message. It is related to the Sprint VVM apk installed on the G935U. When I install the Sprint VVM apk, that message stops being displayed randomly.
I used to root all of my phones and run other ROMs. I got tired of the churn so I'm running strictly stock ROMs now. I don't want to root just for VVM. This is a lame issue, but at least I understand the limitation now. Thanks for the background. Now I know to give up on Sprint VVM with the SM-G935U.

[Q] temporarily rooted phone now having OTA and MMS issues

Greetings Folks,
I'll go directly to the point.
I have a Galaxy Note 3 from Verizon, I downloaded Kingo Android root and rooted the phone so I could download some type of software from the PlayStore that allowed me to remove the standard messenger app as the default app for the phone. I decided to sell my phone and switch carriers. I restored my phone using Kingo Android ROOT, however, when the person who bought the phone attempted to use it, they stated that the messenger app was missing and he was unable to do anything to update the phone.
I think I have broken something on the phone and I'm unsure. I do think I remember that when I left Verizon and attempted to use my phone on StraightTalk I had issues using the default messenger app and that's the reason I wanted it to be removed. I could not send anything, everything failed. So I removed it thinking it was associated with the carrier, since I did not use Verizon the messenger app didn't work.
I've since refunded the person and I would like to fix this problem so I can resell the phone.
Any suggestions?
Odin back to android 4.3
the file you need to odin back is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518704
check out the dev section for a version of odin.. You can also google how to Odin and some guides have pictures.
Thank you.
I looked at that post but it shows that the software they are suggesting has the "Bloat" removed. I'm trying to get this back to out of the box version. That way when I resell it it is in the same condition as if they went and picked it up at a verizon store.
Any suggestions?

[Q] Email security bypass?

I have one of the first AT&T S4s with the MDL so I don't have to use SS. I came from the S2 and always loved the SHOstock ROM on that device so I put the AT&T version of SHOstock for the S4 on the day I got it...but I have been having some intermittent issues so I decided to try the international version of his ROM...and I am really liking it. Except for one issue: despite having "sec email bypass" on the feature list when I setup my work email it requires me to set a PIN. Thinking this may have been an issue with the download or the install I redownloaded, checked MD5, wiped everything, reinstalled...and still required me to set a PIN when I setup my work email. I posted on the ROM thread but nobody has been able to answer if the issue is just me or if maybe the security bypass does not work for anyone.
I believe his international SHOstock version is currently on Android 4.4.2. Does anyone have a flashable ZIP to replace my email app with one that will allow the security bypass or is there a 3rd party app that would allow this?
If not can anyone recommend a good fast/stable ROM that has this feature?

I use the xposed framework with modules for exchange bypass. You can get it here, but be sure to read all the instructions if you haven't worked with it before: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-installer-versions-changelog-t2714053
Once you have it, there are a number of modules you could try. Wanam Xposed (http://repo.xposed.info/module/ma.wanam.xposed) worked for me when I was on GoldenEye--a touchwiz-based ROM like SHOstock. Now that I have the 4.4.4 GPE SS ROM, I'm using http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.shantz.exchangebypass.
For either of those, clear all your account info from the exchange app, install the module and reboot to activate it, and then set up your account as you normally would.
Enjoy your MDL S4. Super jealous.

Custom ROM, need Verizon Visual Voicemail app back..

I've recently flashed FreedomROM to my Verizon variant Galaxy S5. Everything is running incredibly smooth; aside from being unable to access Visual Voicemail or find it on the play store. All other Verizon apps are also gone, which is fine. The only two I used were VVmail and the My Verizon app for data and account stuffI have tried installing a 3rd party app but it messed up my data services.
Can anyone recommend how to get this back? I'm unable to find an .APK for my specific device, nor am I able to find it on the play store.
Thanks! (also, I hope this is the correct place for asking)

You would have to pull it from a stock verizon rom or if you use titanium backup and made a backup you could restore it with titanium backup won't get it from playstore unless it on your phone

I am of course unable to retrieve this app due to being on a different ROM. I also do not have this particular app backed up via Titanium.

[APP][Sprint] Sprint Visual Voicemail (VVM)

This is a flashable .zip of the stock Sprint Visual Voicemail. This is for you to flash if you are running a custom rom, such as AOSP/CM, which do not have a voicemail application.
Presumably this wouldn't work on my pixel, eh?

It might work
Would it work for a sense based Rom?
Sprint VVM on Note 4 with Resurrection Remix 6.2.1
Been trying for months to get this to work and this zip was the solution!
1. Install above SprintVVM.zip from above and was able to provision and receive VM.
2. Downloaded/Install Sprintvvm T.9.0.3.12 (latest to date) and it updated the above!
Very excited for anyone else trying to get Sprint VVM working on Aosp.
have flashed this twice, doesn't show up in app tray. what am i missing?
UPDATE: never mind, realized i could just install from Google Play, this zip doesn't seem to be necessary.

Sprint voicemail

So on my S7 yesterday I got an update for the Sprint voicemail app and Im running rr on my htc 10 with @tabp0le magisk module for the Sprint voicemail. On the htc 10 I cannot get updates for it as it fails to update. If someone on a stock room with Sprint could see if theres an update to the voicemail app that's newer than T.8.0.1.17 please upload it here so I can see if I can get it working on rr rom? I really don't want to have to do a full backup then ruu then root then restroe rr backup just for one apk. If anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance
