Hello,
I have a rooted LG Optimus L3 device with Link2SD.
The SD card is partitioned and contains two partitions: one FAT32 partition for file storage and one EXT2 partition for use with Link2SD. The FAT32 partition is larger than the EXT2 partition.
The SD card is recognized by Link2SD, and by the phone as "empty or with unsupported filesystem". I have tried with different filesystems and partition sizes, but I always end up with just the second partition, which I am able to browse in on my phone if it is in FAT32 format. LinkSD has no problem with the card but I always end up without my first partition.
What happened to the first partition and why does it not show up? Does it have to do with the fact that this device has his own internal memory?
What can I do to regain the first partition and use it as External SD file storage?
Thanks in advance.

i'm on superhero v2 and i need to reformat my ext2 partition for apps to sd. I dont have a card reader so are ther any ways to do this through the phone?
What do you exactly mean by reformat? You could format your SDcard in the SDcard + Phone storage section and it erases all your data, but deletes any existing partitions. And then you could use AppstoSD2 by MarcusMaximus to partition your SD card to fat32 and ext2

I'm using Paragon Partition Manager (9.0 special edition) and an 8GB MicroSD card, and would like to make two partitions, one with the android files, and the other one so that I can put all my other stuff in. Is there a way that I can see my second partition in windows once I connect my phone to my computer, and what type of partition should I make? I can choose between FAT32, NTFS, and Linux ext2 and ext3.
Thanks in advance.
Ideally you are supposed to make 3 partitions:
First partition is the biggest partition (Fat32)
Second partition should be around 256MB
Third partition should also be around 256MB
I also have an 8GB card. However 8GB is really 7.61GB
If i remember correctly what i did was i shrank the sd card from 7.61GB to about 7.10GB...........which created approximately a second partition of 516MB or so.
Then i split that 516 in half so i had 2 partitions of 258MB.
Then i formatted the two 256MB partitions to ext2
***Important***
The fat32 partition (7.10GB) should be the first partition (must be on the left)
Then the other 2 partitions should come after the fat32 partition.
Failure to do this may cause the sd card to not be recognized in windows computer (i think)
Well I got it working with Paragon Partition Manager. I created two ext3 but I had to modify cluster size to 4.
Link2SD wouldn't recognize 2 cluster ext3 and it couldn't mount 8 cluster ext3.
I have android on my Hd2 and the sd card is partioned with a fat32 and an ext3 partion...
I now want to buy a bigger sd card, but how do I migrate the SD partition?
I mean I can create an ext3 partition on the new sd card, move the data from the old fat32 to the new fat32 partition, but what about the ext3 partition whch is not visible in Windows?
thanks
you'll need to find a proper partition manager. I think partition magic could work

I do have a partition manager for windows, but i thought this would only create partitions and not copy them...
I found this link:

a cwm restore won't work ??
I have a rooted Lenovo S750 with a 16gb sd card
I used Aparted to make a partition for Link2sd. The partitions size now are 4999Mb and 10000mb
I thought that Link2sd would use the first piece but uses the second.
II tried to delete them to make them reverse(10000mb and 4999mb)
With Aparted i can only delete first partion. The second partition is bring up a message say i have to unmount first. I can't unmount second partition
Android only unmount first one.
I tried to connect sd card to pc but minitool says sd card is ready only
Any Suggestions;
I am so stupid. i lost 2 hours for this.
I deleted partition 1 and then android sees partition 2 but if i unmount it Aparted application still bring up message for unmount.
I choose to wipe sd card. Partitions deleted and now is one big 15000mb. I reformatted and I'll try to create partitions again
I have pationed my sd card into 1 gb ext4 patition now I am using h9....now it shows only 6gb memory card....and my internal memory ia same...and the remaining 1gb is not found...hp to make that 1gb as my internal....
You need to use Link2sd & mount the partition then you can link apps
If link2sd doesn't give you the option to mount the ext partition you created it wrong
You can create your partition in cwm under the partitioning section - note that it will format your sd card so backup first to pc
Also note that your internal storage will not increase - this is a fixed hard drive and unless you magically fit a bigger one it will always be the same
What you are doing is creating virtual storage space on your sd card that acts like internal storage
The advantage is you can install more apps
The disadvantage is the more apps you link the more laggy the phone will get

By either formatting the sd card with your phone or creating a new partition in cwm (this will delete everything on sd card so backup first to pc)
Or
Use mini tool on pc to format the partition & then merge the partitions or delete all partitions & create a new one
