Okay so I'm reopening this discussion about gaming. I have now tried the Moto Z Force and am going to buy a Note 7, but gaming on my Z Force (Same Hardware) games seem to run at higher FPS and smoother. On the S7 Edge it never ran that smooth. I have tested the Note 7 with a game I play and still, as it is a little better, does not feel as smooth as the Moto Z. Has anyone figured out a way to fix this on Samsung devices or am I SOL? Any mature, accurate, and useful responses are always appreciated. Thank in advance!

Are you rooted? If so thats your problem.
If your not, then have you debloated all of Samsungs garbage with package disabler? If not, thats your other problem.

Hi,
I'm a new member here and also a new android user, just jumped ship from my iPhone 3gs So I've been messing around a bit with the android OS and I've rooted my phone, just wanted to find out if rooting compromises any system performance? From what I've read there seems to be no comment on the impact of rooting on performance, but just wanna double check.
Also, I installed this game called Vector and it lags quite a fair bit sometimes. Is this a game optimization problem or is my cpu or gpu throttling somehow? Was hoping the s4 was the latest and greatest and could run any games without lags, any thoughts? I've yet to test other graphic intensive games because of bandwidth restrictions.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I'm using the i9505 LTE variant
S4 is the latest and greatest and I don't have any lag playing that game. I suggest you to update the firmware of your phone. And of course most of the games haven't optimized yet for new phones.

Thanks for the quick reply! I noticed you're using the i9500? Could that possibly be the difference? I'm using the i9505 LTE variant which is not as powerful. Also, I checked and there was no firmware update for my phone.
I don't think so. I9505 has a newer gpu and both variants are almost the same.

works fine for me, no lag... maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the game (from the play store).

I dont know if this has already been posted (im sure it has and mods can delete this if need be) but, the stock music app is a battery and RAM drainer and leaker, so much to the point where it cripples the phone into an unusable state. In order to fix this problem, i would recommend switching to Play Music, as it still has SD Card rights and doesnt generate this horrible problem. (This is what i am now doing) just wanted to inform anyone who didnt know/had the same problem i did!

Yeah, we were looking into the same issue here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735962
Good to know that's it's definitely an issue in the application since we have Exynos version and you have Snapdragon.

Yeah, i was using the app for the first time yesterday during class, and it kept cutting out for no reason. I figured out the solution on the ride home. Play music seems to be working fine though! I dont know if Samsung can update it via samsung apps or play store or if it needs to be via OTA update, but they need to fix it.

Any way to side load that onto our S7's? I really like that browser... seems to be way faster than anything else android has to offer.
Did you check the play store? It was in there for the s6

Damn that sucks, haven't got my s7 yet. Was hoping for the Samsung browser oh well I guess chrome it is.

Lightning+ with amoled mode and inverted grayscale rendering is what I'm using from now on. Minimal battery and ram usage, while being smoother than chrome.
We'll unfortunately have to wait until we get root to be able to sideload the Samsung browser on to our devices. Verizon sucks...
that sucks.. as soon as they come out with ad blocking they verizon drops it. is there any other real good ad blocking browsers

Lightning+ ad blocking is in general settings
I've posted a discussion regarding this Samsung browser dilemma in the Verizon community forum. Maybe if enough of us complain / ask about this, Verizon will give us back our Samsung browser lol.

Anyone got a list of system apps we can safely disable?
Just disable all of the AT&T stuff. I haven't had any issues.

No problem.
For what it's worth: After I disabled these I booted to Recovery and wiped the cache partition.
It was stuttering and laggy for the day, but after updating everything and a couple of reboots things have seemed to settle in nicely. Good luck!

Here is my Updated disabled. I had an issues with enhanced audio set up because of a package I had disabled. Also, I dot use Android Pay, Gear Stuff or VR stuff. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ajwyu5YpXo8VnyywF6caYaVEc3nL

It was either AudioConnectionService or SapaMonitor.
You can tell if you go:
Settings>Sounds>Sound Quality and Effects>Adapt Sound.
If adapt sound opens up then you are good. If adapt sound doesn't open after you tap on it, then you would need to re-enable one of the above. Sorry I don't remember exactly which one it was. But, its one of those. I actually have them both enabled with no change in performace or battery life btw.
Let me know if you need more help.

This is mine. I'm not being very aggressive with disabling things, I use a gear watch, file sharing, etc, so...
So much people have this issue .. model Sm-g970f/ds exynos 9820. Pubg unplay able even after s10e may update.... frames drop so laggy. The normal solutions not work it's just reduce the lag. Like change resolution from dispaly setting or dolby sound off
I need any solution i "rooted" my s10e to find solution.

this is another solution. the gfp, game for peace or chinese pubg mobile, should be able to play up to 60fps.

Good news Have done some research and literally everyone with an S10 plus exynos version is having this issue it is not hardware it is a pubg mobile and Samsung issue Samsung say they have done what they can to fix the issue and now pubg just have to optimise the game for the s10 plus. Apparently the iPhone xs max had a similar issue at launch that has since been fixed. Some people suggested turning off Dolby atmos for gaming helps but other then that it's just a waiting game.
