after rooting my moto g4 plus i figured that there is no support for LTE band 40(band 40 is a part of TD-LTE) in the indian model of moto g4 plus , i even checked in the LTE settings >LTE band selection > it only shows operating band 1,3,5,8 but not the band 40 (which is the primary band for indian lte services)

It supports band 40 together with band 1,3,5,8
I can confirm this as I am using Airtel 4G which operates only on band 40.

is there any chance we can enable band 40 (while disabling the other bands) as i can enable/disable other bands but not band 40

Some apps (like Radio Switcher) may help. Alternatively.. is your phone unbranded? What's your current CSC?
Has anyone information about differences between NEXUS 6P from US and 6P from UK? I am curious about LTE band and frequencies. Because I am able to buy one from US, I wonder if it will work well in Europe.
Couldn't find the UK Google store, but usually the nexus falls in America and international. Here's some screen shots of the Japanese store and the American one.

Tx a lot for this. Ah well looks like I can't do the buy in US switcheroo. US SKU doesn't support my UK carrier LTE band .
No problem. If the Japanese version weren't nearly $100 more and it came in gold 128GB version I'd get it, only so I'd have gold in the US lol.

I was looking for the bands lists and found it on Huawei's website.
North America version (A1)
LTE: 2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/25/26/29/30/41
UMTS: 1/2/4/5/8
CDMA: BC 0/1/10
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900
Rest of World version (A2)
LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/9/17/19/20/28/38/39/40/41
UMTS: 1/2/4/5/6/8/9/19
TD-SCDMA: 34/39
CDMA: BC 0/1
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900

Latin America LTE bands 4 and 28 are necessary.

Well, probably you'd need the A2 then. It has 28 and A1 does not.
I'm living in NYC and imagine that all the latest and greatest tech as far as LTE is concerned is enabled here. I've done a fair bit of reading and have been able to conclude the following:
1. T-Mobile has LTE Band 12 enabled
2. the oneplus2 has support for band 12.
so my question: how do I get the phone running on band 12? seems like a simple enough thing to do.
edit: I should add that using LTE discovery app from play store I'm seeing that phone uses band 4 exclusively.

The phone will bounce to Band 12 when band 4 is notably weaker the the areas 12 signal. I am happy when band 4 is my connection.

Band 12:
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement
holy ****! lol
Ok,
I know that this phone has VoLTE in the US, band 12.
But what about Europe. Does anyone have this phone in Europe and has VoLTE working with their carrier ??
P.S. - I know that your carrier has to have VoLTE and also support for your phone...
VoLTE is not band dependent. In US T-Mobile (and their postpaid MetroPCS) uses VoLTE on band 12 nationwide and AT&T, Verizon on all bands (AT&T couples it with HD Voice). Postpaid CrickedWireless (owned by AT&T) didn't get yet the VoLTE.
How it works - adding a SIM with VoLTE enabled, adds an entry in your phone's menu that says "Enhanced LTE". If the SIM is not LTE enabled, that entry is hidden.
To check if the phone will work with VoLTE, dial *#*#INFO#*#* and, at "Phone Information", you should see "TURN OFF VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG" denoting that VoLTE provisioning is activated.
How exactly do you dial *#*#INFO#*#* on a phone keypad. There are no ways to get INFO from numbers, *, and #.
Never mind. I just entered the corresponding numbers and found "TURN OFF VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG" but tapping it does nothing. I still don't know how to turn T-Mobile VoLTE on or off on a Moto G4. No where in the settings is there a way to toggle it.
LOL how you dial INFO... That means you never saw an old, regular phone dial pad

Why would you want to turn it off? You loose coverage on T-Mobile, they have places that they don't have 2G/3G signal, only LTE.
To turn off, you turn off that "Enhanced LTE" switch.
I used to have option in my Note 3 & Zuk Z1 to connect to 3G or 4G only network. it is very useful if you are in low coverage area and your fone continuously connecting to lower technology. Is there any ad-don or way around to get this option ?

very simple !
install 4G Switcher from google play ( only works on samsungs)
open it
select LTE only
its only changes sim1 to lte only.
REMEMBER when you done your job (download) change it again to " LTE / UMTS auto" .
if you choose LTE only , you can't call anyone and nobody can call you !
