Hello everyone.
A few days ago I got the S5 - Canadian version g900w8 with FIDO firmware updated to MM. I flashed TWRP with Odin, and then the AllianceROM through recovery and the phone booted succesfully, but two capacitive keys (back and recents) are not working.
When i wake the phone both keys light for a moment. There is no reaction when i touch them they don't work in any way.
In recovery the back button is workin properly.
I tried to reflash various kernels but nothing helped.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Yeah I got it finally and it works. But thanks anyway.
But is it possible to downgrade back to LP without such problems?

Hi all!
since yesterday my S-pen stopped working when i resetted my phone (i was on a custom rom then)
I crashed in to a bootloop for 3 days (i just used my backup phone because i didnt had any time to fix it)
After 3 days it randomly booted the phone and i succesfully restored my phone to factory settings (still on the custom rom tho)
after it was resetted my S-pen stopped working and it did nothing on the screen.... It is still being recognized when i pull out the S-pen but i can't use it on the screen.
So i just restored it to a stock 4.4.2 kitkat rom (UK version) but still without luck.... the S-pen is not working
Anybody that knows what the problem is? the custom rom was X-note and before the restore my s-pen just worked fine...
Can someone please help me?

Hi
I tried to root the Telus Note 3 using the CF root method, it seemed to work giving me root. But now the back Touch sensitive key don't work at all
does not detect my finger pressing it. I tried to download Telus 5.0 stock firmware but it has not solved the issue. I'm kinda lost and not sure what else
to do. Can I try to download older firmware. N900W8VLU2DOH1 is what my phone is.
Any help would be appreciated.
thx.
I have the same problem.
I've posted what I've done so far here
I think the touch(soft) key not working has nothing to do with the root. It has to do with the lollipop itself.
Back key does not do anything at all and the menu(option) key only brings up s-finder.
Hi.
Thx for the reply. Its weird Mine wa working fine with lollipop and I wanted to root and get rid of Telus
crap. Then noticed the back button not working. So i removed root and flashed telus lolipop and it still will not work,
So i tried Koodoo just in case there was the Telus file same thing.
So I rooted and tried Cm13 works great seems snappier and I Liked it alot only prob gear watch not working So I installed Darklord N5
and seems to be working great only slower Data speeds, I could not find telus under CSC..
It weird and lollipop must be prob.
I've posted my solutions here
Dude totally worked. Thx a bunch.
Hey guys,
I upgraded to 6.0.1 stock rom with ODIN. Not the hardware buttons are not responding. I already tried factory reset and wipe cache. No success.
Also downgrading to 5.1.1 doesn't change anything. Buttons not working in latest 5.1.1 ... strange.
Can someone give me an advice?
Thanks!

Hi.. can you tell us, which ROM you used (which region-code) and of which region was your phone before?
maybe this is not the problem, but the more informations you provide, the better.
Yeah. Sure.
I don't know which firmware version I got originally installed on the phone. But first I flashed A310FXXU2BPG6_A310FOJV2BPG2_XSG (6.0.1). There hardware button don't work. So I thought ok, then I flash the latest from my country (DBT).
So I wiped everything and flashed: A310FXXU2APDC_A310FOXA2APD1_DBT.
But still no change. The ROM itself is working fine, except the hardware buttons. I wonder if it is some kernel related problem? But there should be no problem since it is all stock. I even flashed the earliest DBT firmware from samfirmware (A310FXXU1AOL7_A310FOXA1AOL7_DBT) also without success. The hardware buttons stay inactive. Really strange.
First of all hello to everyone!
I have quite weird problem:
I have my phone rooted and customized since day one - Installed KitKat, tried some launchers, unlocked UPSM and so on.
It ran flawlessly for nearly 4 years.
Recently, for no particular reason I decided to wipe&refresh it and maybe install some totally custom ROM.
NOW: I can install ROMS like Lineage 14.1, 15.1 or Resurrection Remix 6.0 and they run fine except (yes, You probably guessed it) they mess up baseband and IMEI.
I can still revert to original 4.4.2 stock ROM and both baseband and IMEI work fine so i'm not in any "brick panic"
The point is I still want to move to some custom ROM but can't sort out baseband-modem and IMEI problem.
I tried to flash several different modems to no avail - sometimes (totally randomly) IMEI showed up on first boot after flashing but was gone after reboot.
- On my current 4.4.2 stock, IMEI shows up correctly NO MATTER which modem version I flash (is it weird or normal or what?)
- none of modem versions work on Lineage OS nor RR
- SIM card works flawlessly on all other devices and on my current 4.4.2 ROM so it's not damaged.
Is it matter of proper custom ROM+MODEM combination or something else?
Can anyone help to sort it out?
What more information do You need?
Thanks in advance!
Flash the latest lollipop stock firmware to update your bootloader.
Yeah, meanwhile I did flash lollipop an hour ago and it works fine with IMEI and all.
Latest version I could find for my phone was Lollipop 5.0
How can I tell if bootloader is updated?
Can I Flash sole bootloader independently via Odin?

Yes you can. Go to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/bootloader-baseband-bl-cp-samsung-t3582504
Thank You all for help and pointing to right direction!
Taking care of proper bootloader version was the key step that sorted things out.
Now I'm enjoying superlite bloatware free 8.1 oreo with LineageOS 15.1 on great 4 yrs old device.
And it works super smooth. Way better then original 4.4.2.
Now I'm being tempted to push the limits and try 9.0 Pie with LOS 16...
Whenever flashing a stock ROM with Odin, the stock ROM includes a bootloader and modem file.
Hello,
I have recently replaced the motherboard on my N910C with N910F (because it was the only one that I could find at that moment). I had to replace the camera as well because they are not compatible. I got my motherboard from Aliexpress, and it seems to be working fine. It came with some preinstalled software that was running Android 5.0.1. on PHE CSC which seems to be Spanish software. I flashed the latest Marshmallow 6.0.1. from Sammobile and its working great. But I wanted to flash Astra Dream UX ROM v.40F so I rooted the device, flashed TWRP and put the ROM on SD card, wiped everyhting (I have flashed roms before on my S4) and after successful installation, what happens is that phone constantly reboots after Samsung splash screen. It managed to get to boot animation first time after flashing, but after that, any Custom ROM that I flash installs without issues, but doesn't go further than Splash screen logo. I have tried 3 or 4 TWRP versions, but none of them seems to fix the issue. So I reflashed stock ROM using Odin and now its working fine. Any suggestion what might be the issue?

For some reason v4 of that rom won't boot for anyone without having to flash another kernel. Also, I've heard that dirty flashing over v3 works too, but I did the kernel change when I used it.
But I also flashed Nemesis N7 port v3.0 and Aurora Note 5 port v7.0, none of them booted. I used kernels provided with the ROMs.
As said previous, try to flash another kernel after flashing the ROM. You have ramkernel or flashpoint that I know of for custom ported roms.
