Unlocking the bootloader on the tiawanese sm-n9208 - Galaxy Note5 General

As we all know its impossible to root the Taiwanese SM-N9208 Note 5 Duo without unlocking the bootloader with CROM Service that is only available in the Chinese Samsung app store. I will provide a link to that very file
Note 5 CROM Service
Run the app and follow the directions to unlock the bootloader. When you boot into download mode the first screen which will give you the option to volume up to continue or volume down to reboot is in Chinese, but the actual familiar download mode is in English
Then use the rooting guide in the forum to finish the job. I used CF-Auto Root thru ODIN, beware it will take a number of reboots to root the phone
CF=Auto Root

Root
I downloaded the link now can u tell me the procedure to start processing as i am beginner . I have taiwanese Note 5 bit its has no voice over Lte. I want to install indian rom on it ,Please help in this regard
Thanks and Regards

[GUIDE][ROOT] Sim Unlock S7/S7 Edge

This guide is for those of us that have devices that have been updated to the new bootloader 4 firmware which prevents downgrading to a firmware compatable with most sim unlocking tools. Firmware versions that suffer this include PH7, PJ2 or PK1 for s7 and s7e (s7e=edge for purpose of this guide, s7=g930x, s7e=g935x).
This method was used personally and tested using a sprint s7 g930p on PJ2 firmware. Your mileage may vary
This involves rooting and will trip warranty status flag. If you have another rooting method different from this thread that wont void warranty or trip KNOX please use that instead.
After this guide you can use a unlocking method of your choice a few that work will be outlined later and also a few to avoid. I also recommend having a copy of your stock rom in case anything goes wrong.
Part A: Setup
1.) Download Root_S7.zip from the bottom of this post, extract the files so that you have the folder Root_S7 with files inside it.
Copy this folder to the root of your phones internal storage and leave a copy on your PC also so you can run(double click) Root_S7.bat in the later step.
2.) Download and setup Package Disabler and use it to disable the following: (should be about 5 apps total. This step not 100 percent necessary but I found it made things easier)
Anything that says Knox
Anything DM (all of them)
SecurityLogAgent
3.) Go to Settings>About Device> and tap "Build Number" 7 times to enable "Developer Menu" then enable "USB Debugging" and "OEM unlock" in the Developer Menu.
4.) Power off the phone completely, now hold Home and Volume-(down), keep them pressed and power the phone on.
5.) Press Volume+(up) when prompted to enter "Downloading Mode"
6.) Connect USB and wait for all drivers to finish installing on PC.
7.) Download SM-G930x_Engineering_BOOT.tar.md5 or SM-G935x_Engineering_BOOT.tar.md5 (choose correct file for S7 or S7e).
8.) Open Odin3 (Run as administrator), then select the above file in "AP" slot, then press START on Odin3, the file will be flashed.
9.) keep phone connected to PC as soon as the system identifies the device Double click "Root_S7.bat that is inside Root_S7 folder that you extracted on your PC. After the phone reboots automatically it is rooted. (it may take a couple tries due to the phone bootlooping, once successful SuperSU will be installed)
10.) Open SuperSU app and go to its settings>Access> and change it from "Prompt" to "Grant". After you have changed this setting the phone should only reboot 1 more time.
11.) Proceed to unlocking
NOTE: If SuperSU prompts "update su binary" you need to run the Root_S7.bat again, and/also check that you have copied Root_S7 folder with exact same name and location as the picture below. Do not use the SuperSU from playstore use the one included in the zip.
You can now unlock using idoneapps or you can PM grsjohn.
After unlock I suggest reflashing stock rom to remove root and restore functionality.
Part B: If you decide to pm Mr. grsjohn.
1.) On a windows machine download and install TeamViewer 11 and Usb redirector
2.)In Teamviewer click extras>options>advanced>show advanced>install VPN driver (its close to the bottom)
3.)Contact Mr. grsjohn. Prepare to donate because Mr. grsjohn is awesome and is doing this with his own resources and free time. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks to and beers for

grsjohn for sim unlocking. :highfive: And gets my endorsement.

CROMService.apk- "App not installed" when I run the installation/Need root to get 4G

CROMService.apk- "App not installed" when I run the installation/Need root to get 4G
So I'm trying root my phone and every Chrom Service apk download is saying "App not installed". Whats the deal? How else am I suppose to unlock the bootloader on my phone so I can root? The other way I searched was to install ADP and I did already
I have OEM enabled and USB debugging enabled on the phone already
Odin "not responding"is coming up when I upload TWRP file when trying to root without unlocking the bootloader first. Is that suppose to happen? Cause I flashed it to AP and its just like freezing whether I'm in download mode or not on phone before I can even press the start button..
If anyone that knows what to do Id appreciate a comment or reply to what I can do next

If your device is the US Carrier branded devices, such as SM-935U, SM-935T, SM-935S then you are out of luck trying to unlock the bootloader. The Crom Service is used to unlock snapdragon variants phones from the Asian regions.
If you want to root your device, you can use the "engineering boot image" if you search the forums for the boot.img and the guide.

Mine is hong kong and Crom Service won't install at all no matter what site/mirror I download it from.....Does it not work anymore for boot unlock?
Install it through adb and you will see an error message in detail.

If you have the Hong Kong version, you should be able to access the galaxy app store to download the crom service app. You will need to register a samsung account before downloading.

Note 4 SM N910G Bootloader Locked or Not

Hi - I have tried the phone pad numbers and ADB/Fastboot methods to see if my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM N910G bootloader is unlocked and press home/volume up/power but too complex for a beginner. One click root have rooted my Note 4. I have the correct RR OS ready to install. I also have the Tool Box Lite and TWRP apps installed on the phone. Would either app be able to work tell me if the bootloader is unlocked? Maybe the bootloader must be unlocked to root the phone in the first place. I have confirmed the phone is rooted. Is there another simple way to tell if a bootloader is unlocked. Cheers to whoever responds and thanks in advance. Dalecarr.

TA-1116: bootloader and root

Hello,
I have a brand new TA-1116, on Android One 10.
Of course i'd love to unlock bootloader, install TWRP and root it.
It's unclear for me what i should do:
1) downgrade to DRG237B firmware (Anyone can confirm my TA1116 can use this downgrade without risk ?) to go to Orea 8.1
2) order an unlock code (where, please ? i found unlocklocks.com but i don't see the price).
3) go into dev mode to toggle unlock bootloader (mandatory ?)
4) fastboot flash unlock <my_unlock_file>
5) install TWRP fastboot flash recovery <twrp latest>
6) flash magisk from twrp for systemless root
Any advice is welcome
If you can root without Magisk, i'd like too. I need to run titanium backup and get rid of that BABE app (??? wtf Nokia ???) and more apps i don't need.
Thank you VM !
Answer: the downgrade is not possible without unlocked BL.
The unlock service does not need to go back to 07/2018, it is a matter of minutes and everything is left unlocked. Yay !

Hello,
I am very happy when seeing this post. Can you help me to unlock bootloader & root for the Nokia 6.1 plus TA-1116.
My last security patch is 2020-07
Thanks,
Bootloader unlock isn't officially or in a free manner supported, it's a paid service, join the telegram community for the device there are bl unlockers for different time zones contact anyone with your timezone for the service it's approx $6-7
Do not hover over random sites there's been only one site from the beginning that I can't mention here, bootloader unlock and other services, get this job done over telegram and save yourself the hassle.

What did i do ??? ->> Root my tab A

Hi Everyone,
my device is Galaxy tab A SM-T590
I was hoping with rooting my Tab A to get access to SuperUser commands in the same environment
(just as you create a root password in Linux)
so i found a guide on the internet downloaded a Rom and installed it via Odin
but now it looks more that i installed a factory Binary, with all kind of Hardware tests but not looking in any way like a useable android version
all kind of things even rebooting
is this wat rooting means? or did i just f*ck it up and install the wrong binary?
how to get it back to a working android version with play store access etc?
Thanks in advance,
Jan-Willem
unbelievable .... downloaded another image .... now it is just the way it was ... root checkers says i have no root access ./.. i don't get it at all

Not my tab so I can't help directly, but you'll need Magisk and a patched boot image for rooting. Check the Magisk subforum for a guide or more users that are able to help you.

androidbiits.com
learned there i should use magisk ... but the screen of magisk does not really appear self explanatory
looking at https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#samsung-system-as-root
patching images is not that easy ... first unlock the bootloader
found a tutorial https://www.thecustomdroid.com/galaxy-tab-a7-2020-rooting-guide/
the more i read the less i understand
first step unlock the bootloader by pressing volume up and down at the same time
and when you did this, then connect it to the PC while holding these buttons
after long pressing volume up it should unlock the bootloader ... it does not

androidbiits.com
tells me that OEM and USB debugging should unlock the bootloader allready
maybe it depends on what device you have and what version
i think my device does not have the vaultkeeper
used this one https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#samsung-system-as-root
sent the complete AP to the device
patched it with magisk (
uploaded it with ADB
restarted my tab in download mode (power + vol up then choose bootloader mode)
installed BL+AP+CSC with odin use 3.13 because 3.12 hangs detecting my device
rebooting i see a message about setting waranty bit kernel .... bye bye warranty ??
booting takes long long long
magisk seems to be half installed and wants to install aditional stuff and reboot
has now a superuser tab .. looks promising
installed root checker --- oow yeah i can give root acces .. it is like a sudo
installed link2sd --- i can give this one SU rights too .. now the most exiting part
trying to convert an app into a system app
my /system is not in /proc/mounts ... that is a deception
there seems to be a systemizer module in magisk
installed the app systemizer
GPS joystick the special version from their own page
used ADB shell to run systemize
there is a /system ams a somewhat priv-system ... i tried both
but somehow the enable system mode remains greyed out
but rooting worked ... the rest is for some other time
