Having issues with apps on sd card

This is the 2nd time this week this has happened. Turned my phone on this morning, shows preparing sd card but yet none of the apps I have moved to the sd card will work. They don't show on the app drawer either. The first time it happened I figured it was a fluke so I copied everything from the sd card I was using to another card, and same thing...apps don't show.
So then I reformat the card, reflash the stock image and everything was fine until today. Wtf could be causing this? I am able to access the card thru root explorer no problem. Running rooted stock rom

Just a quick question but have you used up the internal memory in order to move them to the SD card? Apps run slower from the SD card then they do from the phone. I have tons of apps but coming nowhere remotely close to have to move them to the SD card.

nope i always just moved any app that could be moved to the sd card. i swapped out the sd card and wiped the phone, so we'll see how this goes. thanks for replying

CM7 Memory Loss?

I had 4.9GB and then I had installed CM7 Nighties 161 and now i have 596kb and i have checked my SD card and there is nothing on there but it is appearing empty now i have installed CM7

try to format your SD card in your computer through card reader

i think your SD card is corrupt when flash cyanogen
your phone wont detect your sd card,
format it on your computer through card reader

My phone does detect the SD card as all my files show up but its just the memory which has dissapeared.

How does the app to sd card work?

I've tried this feature and am confused....When i used it the memory on the phone stayed the same, also the sdcard was Un affected?
Is it possible to download a app/game to the external sd card and run it on the phone?

im at a loss .....cant seem to get get the app to sd on the 4.3 to put my games on my external sd card... has any one tried this feature, and how does it work. please help

Micro SD Card issues

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 which I recently upgraded to the official Lollipop 5.0.1 update. I also added a new Samsung 64 GB (Class 10) Micro SD Card. When I use the Micro SD Card in a card reader in Windows 8, I can easily add / delete files without any problems. When I use the Micro SD Card in the Samsung Galaxy S4, it works fine for a while, then suddenly files and folder automatically disappear or files become corrupt; photos clicked with the camera disappear instantly. I am not sure if the problem lies with the Micro SD Card, the phone, the OS or some app.
Please could someone help!

I would suggest to format the card in your phone (if not already done). And then try it again.

I found that you cannot even use the sd card as storage for apps with the 5.0.1 rom this is a issue for me as far as the sd card corrupting files im not sure i am using a 16 gig and i had to set everything manually to save to sd card or move it over myself such as the camera and downloads, but for apps not a chance

This is also the case on KitKat.

CM12 has the Move apps to sd feature.

Application storage problem

I have added a 32gb SD Card but I can't even update applications as the rom is too low 8GB I believe. And it's occupied by os mostly. I moved all the apps to sd card but still the apps don't get moved completely from internal storage. And after update the apps get back to internal storage.
How do I get rid of this annoying problem!!?

Also I noticed when I move app to sd card it doesn't completely move it. say a 222mb app after moving to sd card, it shows 167mb on device storage and 2xx on sd card!

I had that problem.. I partitioned my sd card, I downloaded link2sd plus and I was able to move the whole app to sd card, it's better to use the option link to sd card rather then the option move to sd card, your apps run properly when you link instead of move.. I also installed a custom rom , Igot memory for days

Yes, you cant completely move all app data on sd card. Try link2sd if it works

Storage problem solved for galaxy grand prime plus or other low storages devices
Hi,
This tutorial for those who want to increase storge.
After marshmallow update samsung stops adoptable storage.
But there is one way to enable adoptable storage again.
Guide:
Root your device.
Install Twrp recivery.
Download root essential from playstore
Open the app and select storage.
Now click on adoptable storage and the click on adopt.
Now download ASPlugin.zip from google.
Now flash the zip file from the Flasher given in root essential.
All Done.
Now you can use sd card as adoptable storage in settings.
