Can't you guys run whatever you basically want on sprint kernels? Usc and sprint are so close its sick...i used to have luck with sprint stuff all the time when i had tmo...
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
I think you would have to do some editing and deleting but ya... I have usc and i can run most thing that is on the note 5 sprint... The only problem i had was. i cant seem to send picture messaging form sprint roms... I did get it to work one time but it was by luck.....im working on porting ux but i cant seem to get past this data issue that everybody is having problems with...im running out of time becasue the note 7 will be here soon.
i have tried a couple Sprint ones, and it gives me a reboot issue...sometimes it will make it 5 seconds, then reboot, other times it makes it 10 seconds'
I would recommend also rooting your stock usc kernel then backing up the rooted boot.img and reflashing it then latest supersu zip after installing any sprint rom...that way BL,CP, and kernel all match up and the rom is the only difference...

I was also thinking this, because i cannot get past phone set up in ANY builds i flash...maybe also the modem...
I have a twrp backup on my phone, i made AFTER i did the rooting, and SU...what way would you recommend extracting and reflashing from it?
im wondering if i can pull out MY boot.img and add it to a sprint rom before i flash it...hmm
Just flash the actual img file in twrp

From a twrp backup I'd use nandroid manager (from playstore) and it'll allow you to pull whatever you want from a twrp backup...
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
NOPE..the answer it seems was much easier... I went in with twrp and made a backup of just my boot.img and my modem, and after i flashed the rom, before rebooting, i flashed that backup...seems to be working...ill let you all know
still no luck..trying again with just the boot.img

When twrp does a backup, i chose JUST boot.. Then i flashed MOAR and waited for it to boot.. got past the wifi setup to where it says it is seeting up phone for first time use.. this is where i always had problems.. so i waited there until it did a reboot, then button combo into recovery and then restored, using the backup with JUST the boot.img....and....
worked!!!!!!

Yup exactly! You can definitely do it like that, or you can extract the boot.img and flash that alone, either way...and if during this you ever boot loop at Sammy screenthen flash supersu zip nicely done!

I can send you an edit ver of Moar 4.1 that works with usc ..just flash alway. 4g and everything works. If you are into pic message. Just download Google messaging . i think i found the issue!!! I backed up my modem and efs in twrp... Flashed the rom, and after, flashed a kernel i know works with the R4, and then went and restored my modem and efs...then, first boot...fired up with signal!!

I posted this question on another forum and apparently there is a fix for this issue either posted here on XDA or droidrzr.com. I have searched both extensively and cannot find it.
Here is what is happening.
I upgraded TWRP to 2.6 a while ago, I have made several back ups since then. I even made a back up of a 4.3 rom with no issue. Recently however when I back up a rom it takes about 6GB of space and says it is splitting data into several archives which takes forever. If someone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.

---------- Post added at 01:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:44 PM ----------
It seems the kernel may not have loki enabled. I flashed and got stuck in fastboot.
I was able to recover by flashing the stock kernel and then recovery
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrpXXXX.img <---replace with name of twrp file
You need the fastboot files
extract the zip attachment, get the boot.img for 800 and recovery, place in same folder and then do the commands I stated above if you tried to flash on 800
Will try it when it is a bit stable, en when i am back from vacation

Not specifically, but you are probably right. We just need someone with the skills to port the CM 802 based one to ours and we should be good to go... I think... We will probably have one in a day or two, Android is on the case

no one said they couldn't flash it...i know my D800 is exactly the same as a D802, but the bootloader is locked so the kernel needs to be Loki'd....
i didn't flash this, i just found it....
glad to see Android on it, especially since he was wanting to do an AOSP rom anyway.....this should take us far...
also, curious why the 10.2 drop when 4.4 should be released on 10/25 (or 24 from rumors)

I was just commenting on the response of one person who said the kernel may not be loki'ed. Obviously something else was going on with that particular install.
I'm gonna end all speculation to this working on the D800 (ATT) now, The D800 has an extra mic that the D801 and D802 don't have, the code has to actually be implemented to get audio working on our device the D800, theres are reason why we don't have a build yet, it hasnt been finished yet/started. Also the kernel needs to have the ATT specific DTB attached to it (Device Tree) so no its not a matter of simply Lokifying the kernel and flashing, it won't work even if u do that, This is straight from Dalingrin himself, as I've spoken to him over IRC a few times about an ATT build.
He's currently hard at work fixing TMO issues once that is done, Dalingrin said he will try to work on ATT, which I will be testing a basic build for him. Unfortunately both Dalingrin and Arcee (responsible for the D802 bring up) arent quite sure yet what to do to get the audio working with the extra mic on ATT. So it will be a bit of time before our build gets sorted out.

Here's hoping u can get the extra mic/audio working...ATT could use a maintainer.
Thank you for that clear up!
So this should work fine on a D802 like mine then? Just making sure so I don't decapitate my poor phone.
Also, this should work to flash through cwm recovery as well right?

Trying to restore my but im having issues. I follow guide now that i unroot i cant get any wifi but 3g is working find and if i go back to my old rom i cant get any 3g or 4g but i get wifi its really weird.
Getting
Kernel is not seandroid enforcing
and
set warranty bit kernel
messages when booting my phone not sure if that has to do with it but i thought it was clean stock install i did what ever guide said.

I have a bell SGH I337M. Any way what is happening is i cant get wifi to work at all now that i went back to stock and im getting what i listed above when i boot my phone yet i went back to store firmware. I have a warranty on phone but i dont think i can send it back becase it says Kernel is not seandroid enforcing and set warranty bit kernel which i guess shows its been rooted so my warranty with bell wont work and i can get rid of that message or get wifi to work. Also my phone is laggy i cant even operate it keeps saying not responding do you want to close.
I think i did unroot all correctly put it into download mode flashed tar file for bell i337M firmware but i still am getting this message on boot, wifi not turning on at all and like i said phone is laggy unusable.
I also googled how to get rid of the message at boot everyone said to Flash stock firmware which i did but its not gone i think this phone is 100% ****ed.
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated other wise im forced to get a new phone.
Even if i could just get rid of that thing on boot i could at least repalce my phone so its looks like its not rooted.
Also rom i installed b4 was GRAVITON maybe i did something wrong with that and no wifi wont work i need to flash a kernel that will work with bell s4 but i have no idea what one to use.

First... you need to flash Bell firmware not At&T.... would be helpful to know where you actually started from... were you on 4.2 or 4.3? There is a thread here that has all the stock firmware but you need to pick the right one... if you were on 4.3 you need the MK6 firmware...as long as you can reach download mode your not hooped yet....

...I read this post 5 times trying to figure out exactly what you want to do, or even think you can do! Honestly if you don't know anything about rooting then this particular phone will end up as a brick. The bootloader is locked on AT&T S4. No way around it unless you are NOT on MF3 or later... Is your phone actually rooted?? You can't reset the counter anyway.

The recovery that works with Safestrap is TWRP. And depending on which firmware you just flashed it will either be version that is specific for that firmware. Do you have Safestrap installed yet?

It should have booted past that screen before waiting the ten minutes. Can you still get in Safestrap? Sometimes you can have a bad download. Try one of the mirrors for the rom link and download again. Or you can try to wipe and flash it again. I had problems with hyperdrive when i tried using it. (Some roms just don't work on some people's phone). Can you try another rom like. Deadly Venom or Google Play? Seems most people have fewer problems getting those installed.

Yeah, which firmware are you on and ill find the links. Also what exactly do you want links to? Safestrap, root, or custom roms?

ok so i cant get into TWRP i had it running all night thinking that maybe it will work in the morning but nothing. also i went into stock recovery and wiped all data and partitions but still nothing. i cant figure out hoe to go back a step and put in the right hyperdrive rom. if you can walk me through the process to get back in my phone then send me a link of a hyperdrive rom that actually works that would be awesome. i feel so close but at the same time so far away! lol thanks in advance

Your best option, and proven to work would be to just reflash your current firmware or downgrade back to MK2. Then root it easily with Saferoot. Then Safestrap it, which comes with TWRP recovery. Once that is done you can either restore a backup of the rom... if you have one on the SD card. Or download the rom again for the firmware you are on.
That's what I would do, (have done) when that happened. None of which is very hard to do either. So... what firmware are you on?

I really wouldn't know how to correctly walk you through with installing Safestrap through ADB because because of the different way it mounts.

for all of this i was on MK2 but now i cant even see it since i cant get into the system ill try everything over again from the beginning and see what happens
I was trying to change my middle Eastern honor 7 to EU version, downloaded honor tool, backed up my OEM info and debranded it to EU, it asked to put a EU firmware in SD card (which I did not) and asked me to choose a firmware for which I want to flash the recovery.
I chose the build B380 and it flashed the recovery and asked to restart.
After the restart it booted into Android system (ME B370) and when I went to settings, about phone, nothing changed.
Opened multi-tool again to troubleshoot and saw this
"Change model only possible on Android 5.0"
as is shown under model names in the attached screenshot.
Now, is it because I did not put the firmware in my SD as i was asked or because debranding is only possible on Android 5.0?
Forgot the screenshot so here it is.

Well, trying counts
Thinking of giving it another try to test both my theories but just feeling too lazy to do it

Maybe you try another tool? I see it mainly for 8, but maybe can work on your 7 as well...
[TOOL] SRK Tool Huawei Bootloader/ROOT/Recovery/Backup/Utility (STABLE - 20161002)

Yes, there could be some chance it could work
But I think I would start all the way over with multi-tool, install drivers and get first connection and then try again

My drivers and everything else is updated and working. Root is also detected.
I guess, either I have to rollback or just put C432B380 in SD to troubleshoot it.
I just have carrier data these days and somehow every big file I download gets corrupted.
Will try to do it when I get the chance again.

If I remember correctly, you use Xposed? How do you make it work with EMUI?

Yeah I do, I use for example xstana, and I actually don't know how it's working, I'm running pure Rom, and it's xposed v86, but more than that info I don't got.
I chatted with @DigiGoon about this subject, and as far as I remember he had a theory about it.
V83 and till v86 works with hwtheme enabled, but as far as I remember he told me that "nobody knows, it just work mate"
I know it's not much of explaining, but before I had to disable hwtheme to make xposed work..
Maybe you should "just" get xposed installer alpha, and then flash v86, that's what I did

Well, I was using it with pure rom without any problem but then converted to stock with my own modifications, tried Xposed with stock boot and with boot from DigiGoon, nothing works for me.
Wanted to hide root from Pokemon go but uninstalled it in the end as Xposed did not work and I could not play it.
Means will have to give pure another try then. Let's see when that happens.
And as for carrier data bundles, I guess they purposefully corrupt big files so that I should keep wasting my data over and over again

Yeah, I guess, it's all about system and systemless roots. It's working fine for me now. Every now and then, have to restart the device for settings or something but am fine with that.
