Camera sound after update to 6.0.1 - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
When I was on Lollipop I installed a ask called enforced stream silencer - which make it possible to turn of the camera sound (shutter sound) This app does not work under 6.0.1. Anybody know a solution to turn if the sound when take pictures?

Just mute it in the notification bar and you will also mute the camera shutter sound too.

Yeah I know - but I am looking for a permanent solution, but thank you anyway.

Open your camera app, click on the settings, select all settings at the upper left of the screen. The bottom left icon, tap it and it will turn off the shutter sound.

It's strange that you have the ability to disable the camera shutter sound on your N910V. As I know for a fact that Samsung has made it that you can't disable the camera shutter sound on their devices to prevent people from taking pictures without other people's permission. As it was considered intrusion of people's personal privacy for people to take their picture.

I hope the enforced stream silencer app will be updated for 6.0.1

I have always had the shutter button. I have not read that Samsung removed this feature.

I never had a specific shutter button to turn of the sound - but I guess you are very lucky to have.

Must be lucky. Had it on the note 2 also. Maybe there is a third party camera app that will allow you to turn off the shutter sound

Blocking mode not disabling LED notifications?

Used blocking mode on my S3, S4, and now the S5. For some reason the blocking mode on the S5 does not disable the notification LED. The option to have it do so is just not there. Is anyone else noticing this? Any way to fix this?

Seems like a stupid thing to remove. That LED is as bright as the sun in my dark room at night!
I was hoping it would allow text messages for those in the allow list. My phone calls ring through, but texts do not.

Yea, the only thing I can find is going into display and insert LED notification, check the box in there to shut off notifications
Silly

My blocking mode isn't working at all. I do have a separate app that handles my ringtones, but even fb notifications go through when Blocking Mode is on =\
Same here, even after ANE2 update! Any ideas?
any hope to get this changed now that we have root?

Me too!
The only way to get this working for me was with GravityBox.
You have to set the time to turn off and on notifications, like at settings menu, but that actually works.

You can disable led in Blocking mode by editing table "system" in "/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db" and setting
Code:
dormant_disable_led_indicator 1
So set that and reboot to apply.

Can you give step by step instructions on how to edit the system table?

Adapt Sound

Hi there,
I setup my Adapt Sound, but while doing so my partner turned our washing machine on.
So I could quite say my end result was accurate.
But I have found there is no way to get back into Adapt Sound once you have set it up.
Can anyone tell me hoe to reset it so I can set it up again.
Many thanks in advance.

Try going into the applications manager and wiping the cache for the app.
Did that but made no difference. Couldn't find any app that looked like it was liked to it either.
Just don't get why you can't go back into it once it's been setup....

I haven't seen adapt sound on my Note settings, but Titanium does show the apk. Where do I find it?
If you have Google Play Music, go into the equalizer settings and you should have it there.

Ya, but I want to redo the setup of Adapt Sound not just switch it off or on.
You can't get back into the setup from there and there is no dedicated app to get in from.
And clearing the cache on the Adapt Sound app doesn't do anything...

You go to the stock Music app (not the google Play Music), and go to Settings. Select Adapt sound ->Check Adapt Sound again. On the next screen, select the 3-dot menu button and select Retry. The setup wizard should appear.

I do not see the 3 dots anywhere on the next screen. Do i need to update music player?
Got the Note 4 new and cannot find the Adapt Sound in the normal settings where it used to be on my Note 3.
I only find it in the music App and I can set it there. Since I only stream my Music via MTV Rhapsody it seems that Adapt Sound has no effect on the music there. Is that correct? At least I cannot hear any difference when I switch it on or off. That would be realy sad. On the Note 3 it worked with every App.
Any suggestions, how I can have the Adapt Sound settings and effects also in other Music Apps.
Thanks for your help.

[Q] Power menu customization

Can someone tell me how to change the menu color. I have seen the power menu it self changed to a brushed metal background and I want to do that for mine but I can't find any answers.
are you talking about from power saving? that changes everything to grayscale.... settings > power saving > power saving mode > turn on grayscale mode
Sent from my primary sender for sending
No, just normal. I just want to be able to have a different color power menu screen or maybe even have a picture I took as the menu screen with the power off, reboot, emergency.... Etc... On top of it. Does that make sense?
Sent from my SM-G900V using XDA Free mobile app
Maybe you can post a screen shot of the menu you're talking about? from your last message sounds like when you hold the power button down and the "phone options" pops up. If so, then sounds like you're looking for something from either a custom rom or a theme. If you're on stock, you won't get options like that.

Its not exactly easy to modify system colors. Perhaps an xposed module will be your best bet.

You can do this by using Google Nows on tap feature (make sure it's enabled in Google now settings). Just hold the home button, press share and it will take a screenshot of that window only. The only downside being that you have to send it immediately, it does not save.

I'm trying to do this while in the gallery of pictures. Example: Zoom into a pic and then just screen shot the image leaving the original untouched.

The easiest solution is to just crop the photo. It will save as a separate photo.

I set the transparency to 0% and it's still visible I changed the size to small the only way in the tmobile variant seems to be that you have to turn the edge panel off to do this.

Notification LEDs off in DND or charge?

Hi,
Is there a way to access the pictured setting via Tasker or some other way? Light Flow causes more problems than solving... It bucks up my notifications...

Set up a profile for DND and use State->Variables->Variable Value->find "Interrupt Mode" in the list of variables (or manually type %INTERRUPT)
Depending on the DND mode, the values are either ALL, PRIORITY, ALARMS, or NONE
If you want the profile to activate on any DND mode, use %INTERRUPT neq ALL
Then make your task and use the LED controller plug in and under configuration set everything to off. Then create an exit task and set all of the items under "LED Settings" to on.
The DND profile runs non stop whether I'm in DND or not

I've tried different operators. Some keep the DND profile running regardless of the state and others stay off regardless...

I did eventually figure it out - i just could not get to the CORRECT notification access settings page...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2117829
I used the plug-in and just created a profile to turn off the LED during a specific time period, which is the same time period I have DND activated.
The plug-in reference in post #2 is no longer available in the Play Store. Does anyone have a copy of it they could post here, or send to me? I accidentally deleted it off my phone.
Edit: Never mind, I found it here:
