"Android is upgrading: Optimizing apps" every time I reboot - Zenfone 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone's Java VM was originally dalvik when in Kitkat. I did a firmware upgrade to lollipop, and now my Java VM has changed to ART. I mentioned that because I've read people say this is the cause for the "Android is upgrading: optimizing apps... Estimated max time xxx seconds".
So I want to know how to get rid of this optimizing thing because this takes a lot of time when booting up.

Android is updating evry time i boot.

Hello folks,
Know someone something to solve's this problem? When i get the message he is actually starting up the applications. I think that updating tool is stuck on that state or can not optimize an application. I have readed the whole logcat but don't understand it. so i include it anyway maby some of you understand it better. The problem started after the first CM10.1 update after that it keeps giving that message.
I tryed:
- Formating cache and dalvik-cache
- removed the odex files from wordfeud (wordfeud won't start after that first update)
things i probably better don't had done:
- Try to recover manually my games
- pluged in a samsung usb cable (devices crashed! on that moment (but that was on stock))
Specs:
Nexus 7 wifi (32gib)
android 4.2.1 CM10.1-2013112-NIGTLY-GROUPER
Formatting the dalvik cache will cause the 'Android is updating' result. You might want to flash the custom rom again and let your apps restore from Play Store. You can restore game data, usually, after installing the app, but don't restore the game.
If it simply says "starting apps", I would not worry about it.

Uninstalled Apps keep reinstalling after Reboot and updates go missing

Hello ,
I have a rooted LG G2 AT&T with a stock Lollipop rom.
I don't know why but recently my phone began to have this strange behavior.
Whenever I reboot the phone, it restores my previously uninstalled apps and all the updates installed between two reboots go missing.
The other strange thing is that all the NEW apps installed instead are kept.
The phone has become very slow booting and during the boot it shows the popup stating "Android is upgrading... Optimizing app x of n", where the total number varies time to time.
Does anybody have any idea on how to solve it?
Thanks in advance
Update: the boot time and number of apps being optimized varies with the number of uninstalled apps.
I tried:
cleaning dalvik cache
cleaning cache partition
fixing permissions
deleting apps with TB
disabled auto restore from google account

Installations of applications are lasting longer than usual

Hello buddies.
Like title says, installation of downloaded applications lasting longer than before, sometimes more than 30 seconds even applications are smaller (less than 10 MB). Anyone know what could cause that problem?
My phone is rooted N910C with Xposed framework (and few modules activated) and TWPR recovery. Phone runs Android 6.0.
I think something's changed in Marshmallow from Lollipop. I noticed the same thing after upgrading to MM. Some apps are taking awfully long to install! Doesn't bother me, but when you are updating multiple apps in a batch then you have to wait longer because until one app completes installation next app doesn't start to download. Probably has something to do with Google's change in MM rather than Samsung's mess up, I think.

Annoying "Android is Upgrading..." on bootup - how to fix this?

Can't get phone to stop doing this (even though intermittent). I tried wiping Davlik cache with Flashfire but no good. Als o notice that phone gets pretty hot (hot enough to trigger warning cool down alert) across the top third surface area of the phone when it goes through this process.
Help??
Deleting caches does that. And, while in the process of "upgrading" (which basically means it rebuilds the caches), the phone does intensive processing. Which is why it gets hot.
and how do I delete the caches?
You misunderstand. You don't delete the caches, as that causes the problem. That said, I forget because my Nexus 6 doesn't do this, but is it normal to see an "Android is upgrading..." prompt on every boot, especially with no apps to optimize?
Not on every boot. Unless he has some tweak that clears caches automatically.
I don't have that tweak. I just went into stock recovery and did a cache partition wipe. Still optimizing on bootup
Well a fix from Google Play only mucked things up further. Did a factory reset but now I can't get past the Setup Wizard which terminates after it cannot get past "Backup Assistant PLus" because it cannot find cloud storage. I select "skip" and is says "unfortunately setup wizard has stopped" the screen goes black.
So I guess I'm stuck having to Odin back in and use stock ROM. One question - would it be preferred to use the PL1 build vs the OF1 build that was previously on it?? Can I even do this or do I have to stick with OF1?

It doesn't matter.

My OP2 keeps optimizing an app every reboot

Every time I reboot my OnePlus 2 keeps optimizing a certain app
I don't know which one but I deleted a lot of downloaded apps and it still didn't help
I thought it could be the SuperSU app so I ran the UnSU script and flashed Magisk
It still keeps optimizing that app
Factory reset would probably solve this issue but I'd prefer not to do that
Thanks
do you have some "optimizing" apps or mods installed? like Lspeed, or hebf or something like that?

I have a similar problem. Optimising 2 apps while booting. This takes a lot of time, I guess about 5-8 minutes for each app. Initially I thought I was stuck with a boot loop or something, but later figured out that after insanely waiting, the phone actually boots up after optimising.
So I uninstalled many apps from my phone and now optimising is reduced to 1 app. I cannot pinpoint on which app is being optimised so i can get rid of that app.
I am running on unrooted oxygen 3.6.1 with no fancy stuff installed, to the best of my knowledge.
Any help to understand how to get rid of this optimisation will be appreciated.

i flashed 8.1.0 lineageos and it solved the problem but i guess that just a factory reset would do the job
let me know if you fixed it
Have you got bit torrent installed?? Bit torrent updated, I restarted, optimising bit torrent for hours
Solution:-
Boot into recovery mode(TWRP recommended) and delete the true caller folder from data and the system.
I had the same problem.
It was utorrent.
