I am trying to return my Galaxy s4 SGH-1337 to the original - to unroot it. I rooted it but then the wifi didn't work. I tried to fix the wifi issue but after many hours of trying, I decided to just reinstall the original firmware. I downloaded the I337UCUAMDL_I337ATTAMDL_ATT.zip, expanded it and ran it with Odin and it failed. Following is the message stream from Odin.
If anyone can help me with this I would really appreciate it. BTW - I can't download anything directly to the phone because wifi is not working.

Audit13,
How do I unlock the bootloader and get a more recent ROM? Thanks.
The bootloader on the i337 cannot be unlocked once it has been locked.

I recently was attempting to downgrade my kernal so I could root my S5. I knew to this and I'm not sure where I messed up. My phone is stuck in a bootloop. I've tried multiple times to reset through ODIN to stack firmware. This is what it reads. Please help if you can.

Download odin for your device, and a official samsu rom md5 for your device.
Put the original rom to your device with odin, but first enter in Download mode ( volume - with home button and power pressed in same time.)

I've done that, I've tried three versions of Odin and Five different versions of ROM.
Bootloader is locked, search the forum for tutorials for your model S5 (Verizon?)

I cant even install custom recovery, odin gives same error.
I have also tried framaroot, towelroot, kingoroot, oneclickroot but none works for me.
Please Help me if there is any possible way...
thanks.
Hello and thank you for using Q&A,
please untick Repartition in Odin and try to flash again.
Kind regards
Trafalgar Square
Verizon lock their bootloaders don't they?
iirc someone managed to unlock one, but not sure if the method went public
With a locked bootloader, you can not flash anything custom
Towelroot only works with older KitKat ROMs, I think pre-June 2014?
*Detection* is correct, towelroot will not work on LP firmwares. And with a locked bootloader you have zero chance of downgrading to KitKat.

From what I heard, aboot.mbn errors are caused by the attempt to flash an older bootloader (downgrade).
Flashing older firmwares than the one currently on your phone will result in a fail.

Obviously flash the same or newer firmware.
Another way?
Boot into download mode and confirm the phone's model #.
ROMs for the i9505 are here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9505/
How? Where can confirm when you get into Download Mode , my country is Serbia I'm here and downloaded firmware , and what we are now talking about here ?
Sorry for bad English
Give us all the info displayed in download mode.
ok let`s start from the start, i tried to root my note 3 sm-n9005 and failed to succeed.
i used the cf auto root guide, odin said success but my phone failed to boot and went straight to recovery mode.
then, i tried using odin 3.07/09/11/185 to rewrite into the stock rom, but odins says FAIL and gives nothing in return.

i just want get my phone back with android that above 4.4
please help :crying:
Looks like the ROM you are trying to flash is not made for your phone or the ROM is older than the ROM currently installed on the phone.
Are you using the original Samsung USB cable? Tried different USB cables and ports?
For Root note 3 use Towelroot by Chainfire.
Sent from my Limited Edition Note 3 LTE using Super Tapatalk
Download Official 5.0 ROM from Sammobile and flash it in Odin, after it try to root phone...
In dialog this looks like firmware file is damaged
The firmware doesn't look damaged, the firmware you are trying to flash has a bootloader that is older than the bootloader in the phone.
isn't chainfire's root method called cfautoroot?
download one more time...
My device is already rooted from Kingoroot which worked easily and had no problems.
Now I'm trying to install custom recovery, I downloaded the newest IMG that TWRP has for my device, convert it to tar.md5, then I boot my phone into download mode and try to push the rom to my phone via Odin, and after about 3-4 seconds it says fail at the top, here is the output the Odin gives:

It doesn't cause any errors or anything on my phone when it fails, I just restart my phone and it works just fine.
Thanks for the help, I couldn't find a similar error to mine with a solution posted previously for my device.
Try using different USB cables and USB ports.
OP resolved the issue. Thread closed.
