Have you tried flashing the recovery.img and the corressponding rom image?
You can get these from the wiki
If all else fails, and you cannot recover using fastboot etc, then try QDLTool again from the wiki

Yes you did WHAT?
Normally installing stock ROM will cure most things unless you have internal issues.
Flash stock recovery.img for the stock ROM you want to get back to... I would suggest 360. You should already have downloaded the stock ROM update.pkg file that corresponds to the stock recovery.img you flashed in fastboot. Make sure you don't have any other files on the root of your SD that conflict with you update.pkg and MOST importantly, make sure it's named "update.pkg"
Boot into recovery and choose option 2 to update. IF it gets stuck (now this first boot after installing stock ROM may take 20 minutes or so), then pull the battery, boot into recovery, and choose to do a factory reset again
Hi guys
I'm hoping somebody could please help me with my somewhat-bricked device..bricked in the sense that I don't know what to do with it. (i'm a noob to this). I've tried installing a custom rom and completely screwed up my dell streak 5.
So the phone doesn't boot anymore and just takes me to the option to install update.pkg off the sd card. I added the file along with recovery.img to the sd card.
360 17397 00 May 31, 2011 PKG Recovery Hash Latest Retail rom
My problem is that I cannot for whatever reason get Flashboot to work in order to flash the recovery.img first. under device manager you see android phone/android adb interface but still can't manage the connection to use cmd prompt/fastboot.
Is there any other way of getting the recovery.img to work without fastboot/thru the sd card. I have no idea what i'm doing anymore. I've tried installing the update.pkg but after installation it just stays on the dell logo loading screen forever.
PLEASE help if you can.
Try QDLTool

once in fastboot your command line is
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (will take just about 3 or 4 seconds then type)
fastboot reboot (it will begin to reboot and you should press the volume up and down keys to get into recovery, you should already have the package on your sd card, choose option 2 to update... if it hangs, you don't have to flash recovery again, just boot into recovery and try a factory reset, if it hangs, well flash the ROM again

hey buddy, when I enter the recovey mode, and will install a new rom or another option, the camera button does not work. What can I do?

Accidentally erased my OS. Need help getting it back.

Made a silly mistake. I was going to flash M-kernel to my device after updating to 4.2.2 and while I was in Team Win recovery I chose to wipe cache and system. I flashed the kernel and now when I select to reboot it says "No OS installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?" I still have the file to flash 4.2.2 but don't know how I can get it on the device in it's current state. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I tried this method here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667929 however I can't get Unmount/sdcard to work in the recovery menu and therefore can't push the OS file using the cmd prompt.
You may have to fastboot the system.img and boot.img into place. How did you root? Did you use root and unlock? Did you use wugs? Do you have android sdk and fastboot installed?
Btw, I did this too. I was preparing to flash a rom, did a factory reset, wipe system, and (understand I had just gotten this device at the time LOL) wiped internal storage. Which meant my backups and update.zips were gone. The nexus 7 doesn't seem to have a way to mount twrp from recovery to side load files so I just used fastboot to fix it.

I use Root Tool Kit to root and unlock. I have android sdk installed on the PC but not sure what fasboot is. Can you explain how to "fasboot the system.img and boot.img into place"?
If you are using the toolkit, just select your device, select flash stock firmware and connect your nexus in bootloader mode (fastboot mode, hold volume down and power when it's turned off)

k1ll3r8e's toolkit should be able to do it for you, give it a try.
Thanks for the answer. But the stock recovery didnt work for the thing that i want to do... I want a fresh installation of the last compilation of the firmware. I want to wipe it all...and install the the stock firmware,to start from 0. (Cause i have to much garbage in the system. The Ram memory is down of 1,60 gb with 3 user apps installed) You know how can i do that?
I had it the stock recovery this morning but didnt download me the last firmware...(cause i have the bootloader unlocked) So i return to twrp...
I just want a fresh installation of the stock rom to start from there.

You can get stock recovery here http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/how-to/root-root-recovery-bootloader-unlock-t3457564
Download the zip extract it and I believe it's called stock.img
I'm going to assume bootloader is unlocked and USB debugging is enabled
Enter fastboot mode and connect to PC
Load up adb terminal on your PC type fastboot flash recovery PATH/stock.img (PATH= file path to the recover img)
After that is done download the latest firmware for your phone version and extract it, extract update.zip and put its contents on the root of your sd card in a file called dload (make if it doesn't exist)
With the SD card inserted and phone turned off power up by holding volume up, volume down and power at the same time for about 8 seconds, this will start the update, once that has done you will want to power the device holding volume up and power for a while, select factory/data reset, then wipe cache, reboot into clean stock rom.
This will also remove root and relock bootloader

[Help][A2017G] SoftBrick only bootloader and stock recovery

Hi,
I have an A2017G which after trying linageos had the stock rom from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-guide-updates-to-stock-files-via-t3469484 TWRP and an unlocked bootloader. That worked ok, and I wanted to upgrade to the stock ROM 7.1. I installed this using TWRP https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71664539&postcount=29. But now when it boot's after the bootloader it's stuck showing a linux logo, and it won't boot Android.
In the bootloader (http://i.imgur.com/Os4vkwT.jpg) I can try to go to fastboot, but selecting that only reboots the phone. I can however select recovery and go to the stock recovery (http://i.imgur.com/PBj6y6X.jpg). From there I have tried to sideload (selecting Apply update from ADB and adb sideload rom.zip) the stock rom (http://www.ztedevice.com/support/detail?id=1170789A90BA42E18B3364B80C7F5A26), the previous rom I tried to install (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71664539&postcount=29) and another TWRP stock rom (https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-kernel-stock-7-1-1-b02-based-a2017g-t3592470) but all fail at the very beginning saying "(adbd status 1) Installation aborted" (http://i.imgur.com/RzNSBtu.jpg).
I also tried to install linageos back using sideload but it fails ("failed to verify whole-file signature"). I believe that is because it's not the official rom and the stock recovery only accepts that.
ADB only works in sideload mode and fastboot doesn't (it loads the bootloader again).
Do you know how I should proceed? How could I install the stock rom, or TWRP again?
Thanks in advance.
Try it with this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-reinstall-twrp-root-update-to-t3578552
If you can't flash recovery with axon7toolkit try it with the last step "Get Fastboot" first. ZTE removed the fastboot mode in Nougat, so you have to flash another fastboot image.
If you can boot into fastboot again you can flash TWRP and from TWRP a rom.
Good luck!
Hi Darkem,
Thanks a lot, that actually worked. I was under the impression I wouldn't be able to install TWRP because I was only able to use the command "adb sideload update.zip" but other commands like "adb reboot edl" didn't work. But as it's said in the other post, pushing the three buttons of the phone set the phone into EDL mode. From there I was able to install TWRP.
Thanks a lot again
(A2017G) Hello. I no longer have access to fastboot because I flash a stock rom (Nougat) with the recovery stock and it has removed my modified bootloader, I managed to install twrp in edl mode but I still have no access to bootloader. What should I do please? Flash a stock rom (Marshmallow) here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/download-center-factory-images-ota-t3606547) to gain access to fastboot again (bootloader )? Thank you. Granted I have the A2017U, but in stock recovery I can still access the phone memory with my pc. Why not download the stock rom from ZTE, put it on the phone memory, and flash it in the stock recovery?

Sorry, why do you want fastboot? If you're planning to relock the bootloader you'll need to be fully stock, which wouldn't be the case if you just installed a fastboot zip. Relocking the bootloader is probably the only thing that fastboot is mandatory for

I want to go back to ROM stock and bootloader locked but when I do not have access to the bootloader anymore I can not do the command "adb lock oem"

System wiped, Only stock recovery left.

I was trying to install a custom ROM in my moto g5 plus so I flashed twrp and then removed my system and data completely, after that, by mistake I flashed the stock recovery. Now I'm left with stock recovery only and no system or OS. What can I do?
