Rapid Notification - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have this problem about my Nexus 6P
Every time I get a notification like Facebook or some other apps, it keep play the notification sound rapidly, like none stop unless I clear it or switch to vibrate mode, It's driving me crazy.
PLease help me, thank you

Have you tried clearing the cache for the apps causing issues? You could also try reinstalling them. Worst case a factory reset should clear whatever is causing the issue.

Yes I did that at first but then the problem is still there.

Are you rooted? What other mods have you done to the phone?

If your carrier is Project Fi, clear their app cache , I had that same problem as well as the phone kept on ringing for ever even when the call actually went to vm and the caller left a message

[Q] Nexus 4, Force close loop on all apps, Help?

Last night my phone was working perfectly and i didnt install any new apps yesterday so i dont know what caused this to happen...
At about 6am today i turned on my phone. it was all fine until i unlocked it. When i put in my pattern it unlocked and it showed a few of my icons for about half a second and then it came up with an error message saying that the launcher had crashed so i pressed "ok" and it came up again so i pressed "report" and then it said "market feedback agent has stopped" and went back to the launcher and came up with the first error again.
i was just thinking about a way of getting around all the errors to install a new launcher so then i could use my phone. i plugged in my earphones and used the button to start playing my music, then i unlocked my phone and quickly opened skype before the error came up again and then i went in my notifications and i could open Play Music from the notification, i had a notification for an app update so i clicked it and it opened the play store so i installed "go launcher ex" i tried going into my recent apps to change my song but it said "system ui" had crashed, i tried to get into my settings but that crashed too, i worked out that it was most of the stock apps and a few others like bbm that werent working.
device specifications:
Nexus 4
Android 4.3
Rooted
Stock rom
Stock kernal
I dont know what to do without losing everything? thank you for any help
rebooted already? This usually fixes a lot of probs.
cheers
This is happening to me to. I fix it by clearing the ram or closing all open apps. But it happens like once daily now. Any long term solutions?

same issue as here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513412
just different description... Just cleared google service framework data... will check back in on that thread after tomorrow morning and let you know if it works.
Same here. Bone stock and I don't even shut the phone off but overnight something happens to it and all apps crash. It sucks because it was my morning alarm but the clock app crashes without sounding the alarm.
If I reboot it will work perfect till the next morning, then all over again. Wiped and it still does it. Called it in and Google wasn't aware of anything so if you get this make sure and call Google so they know its widespread.
I cleared services framework and it solved it. So far, 2 days without infinite force closes

Same thing happened to me today. I rebooted into recovery, cleared cache, clear dalvik cache and reboot. Been fine since.

That did not fix it for me.
I got the infinite loop the next morning.
i tried re-booting but nothing happened, i had to go into recovery mode and reset my phone. now i wish i made a backup.
I haven't been getting those major crashes yet but after a while I can't open any apps or they "stop. " I think it has been happening ever since I returned to stock for the kit Kat update. Closing all the apps sometimes fixes it but that ruins my favorite part of the phone which is I can have all my stuff open all the time.

I'm still having this problem. Did everyone else fix it or did it just go away?

[Active Notification] Sometimes It Doesn't Work At All

Today I've the problem again, the notification simply doesn't work, it looks like the sensor is failing or something because I took it out of the pocket, as usual, and it doesn't light on... having to use the power button again...
It happened other time, some weeks after I bought it... complaining with the technical support on Moto Care, without results, so I've factory reset and wipe everything, and it works...
So, my first guess is that the cache of Active Notification may have some guilty on that, but I can't find the app from it to clean and check if it works. Does anyone knows what app is it?
I'm not gonna to factory reset this time, it simply not useful as a solution.
Does anyone have/had this problem?
Regards,
It happened to be one time. I found the solution to be simply disabling Active Notifications and then re-enabling it.

If a factory reset fixes it, it's probably not a sensor issue. It's possible that an app you've installed is interfering with it somehow - do you have any kind of root apps, or apps that play with system resources (like process managers/Greenify/etc.), or apps that control notifications?
I've noticed this on 4.4 a few times, as well as the lag on unlocking from AN a few times, too. Then again, I'm still on the leak, so that may have something to do with it.
Case maybe? Make sure the screen is clean. That proximity sensor is sensitive.
I think I found the problem.
The app management of what will show on active notification... don't active any of those that did not come checked after a reset. I did check some "Google's" for active notification.

phone restarting

Just got the s5 phone about a month ago and it restarted on it's own out of no where while viewing a you tube video..
Another issue is when on you tube it's very hard to scroll in videos is this normal? I also notice a bit of lag while using messaging or scrolling a website is this normal?

Have you tried clearing the YouTube app data in settings/apps/all apps? Or clear the caches in recovery? Or else data factory reset or if that doesn`t help reflash the stock rom with Odin.
Unfortunately you didn't give us much information to go on. For instance you didn't say if your phone restarted just the once or how often, if it is recurring. It's hardly worth worrying about a one time glitch if it doesn't repeat.
The first thing to try to solve a persistent restart issue is as was already suggested, try clearing the cache and data for the app in the settings menu application manager. And then boot to recovery mode and wipe the cache there too. Past that, you can try reinstalling the app or starting in safe mode to narrow down the cause. You are essentially trying to narrow down the possibilities and watch for any pattern in what might be causing the issue.
If you are sensitive to lag, then search for some posts about debloating your phone or installing a custom ROM that is better optimized. It's all of the superfluous Samsung junk and carrier apps that cause most of the lag.

Photos keeps force closing

Every time I open up photos, it keeps force closing. Does anyone else get this and is this fixable?

Mine was doing this yesterday. I ended up factory resetting and that fixed it. But, I'm not sure what was causing it. I didn't have any 3d party apps, besides the junk that comes on it.
I am also having this issue. I'd rather not factory reset unless I absolutely have to because I don't want to set everything back up. Has anyone been able to fix this issue?

I tried this, complete factory reset, and still have the issue with the Photos app, but only after I update the app... If I don't update the app it works fine
No one has any updates to how they fixed this issue? I'm OCD about app updates and not being able to update Google Photos is killing me...
sorry. after i factory reset the phone, photos stopped force closing but i was having a lot of other weird issues. apps wouldn't update, just sitting in playstore trying to connect ( on wifi and 4g). wouldn't download from playstore, if they did it was painfully slow. so i downloaded the RUU of the newest software version and flashed that. All of my problems went away after that. But, i'm not sure what was causing them.

S10+ keeps randomly restarting, is there any way to find out what's causing it?

My phone sometimes restarts in its own, just randomly in the middle of something but not always the same thing either. Before I was just in the middle of writing a text and it just restarted.
I was wondering if there are any logs etc I could look at that would tell me what caused it to restart?
I want to avoid having to do a total wipe to fix it.
I have tried clearing the cache partition.
Any help would be great.
James
In Device Care theres a App Issue History, you can see if any apps have been crashing which may or may not be related.
It looks like what happened to me when I set a Private DNS.
