Less CPU-intensive ROM for Mi2-S - Xiaomi Mi 2

Hi! I've found that a regular use of Pokémon GO will cause my phone to reboot or shutdown after a few minutes. If reopened as soon as the phone boots back up, another soft reboot/shutdown happens even before the game is loading. Even keeping the screen on or using some regular apps will cause the issue, after the phone went off because of PG.
I've tried Ivan's AOSP Lollipop and Marshmallow, Buger's CM12.1 and MIUI8, and they all behave the same. Can anyone tell me which is the absolutely less CPU-intensive ROM available for my phone, so that I have some chance to use the game?

I think it caused by battery.
In CPU high usage, battery maybe can't output enough energy for CPU, so battery turn-off suddenly, and phone reboot.
You just need a new battery and all problem will solved.
Sorry for my poor English, and hope this information help you.

My Mi2S works fine with Pokemon GO.

Urgent Help: HTC P3600 Freeze!

Hello,
I am owner of HTC P3600 from last 12 months and i used custom roms too all was working fine and before 2 days i found that whenever i leave the HTC for few hours it hangs and when i press the standby button to wake it up nothing appears on the screen and i have to reset it to start it again.
Updates:
Ok i re flash the Hard SPL, Radio and Rom and until now (in last 24 hours) it don't hangs.....
Update 2: I think the battery is the problem as the battery time is decreased from 3 days to just 1 and a half day and it freeze now while charging....
Any solution? anyone experience the same problem?
Help please with your views...............
I have a similar problem. My HTC started crashing after a rom update. However, i think it is not crashing due to software...
Well, the software is more CPU demanding, so it heats more than before. Also, i started using backlight properties set to high (i need to set to low again), which again highly heats the PDA. Finally, when charging the battery tends to get very hot. All this put together causes the CPU to overheat and crashing.
At least, from my experience, when it crashes it is always very hot.

Sounds like a radio rom problem. Try to reflash radio.
Thanks for the advice!
I will reflash the radio rom.
If it solves the problem i will update my post here so everyone else knows how to solve this kind of problem.
it helped ? reflashing the radio rom ?
lol you ****up your phone hahahahahahahha
No, it did not helped. Probably it is an hardware problem.
The pda was intensively used connected to the computer, because it was used for software developing.
I think it is broken, hehe.

Phone keeps freezing...please help

Hi,
I have been using my HD2 with android for a long time without too much trouble. Not long ago, while still using SD builds I would find that my phone would often freeze, this would happen almost always while surfing the web or playing games or while putting the phone under heavy load. Using nand builds the issue has gotten even worse. Every single build I have tried is almost certain to freeze during the initial setup, even if I leave it alone and give it a long time to setup and stabilize. I have been using a stock gingerbread NAND build for a week or so and it just won't be stable. It freezes during games or surfing the web mostly (though upon first installing the build, almost anything might trigger a freeze, including scrolling through a menu). I have tried task 29, and many builds but they are all giving me this issue. Even the last WINMO rom I tried did the same. I am completely baffled by this and have no idea what could be wrong. Does any one have any advise?
Thanks
Pray that you're still under warranty???
If it does it in winmo, try flashing your original stock (From HTC) ROM. This will remove HSPL and any & all customisations. Make sure the phone is in it's 'from factory' state. If it STILL has freezing issues, you need to get it repaired. If not. Start installing ROMs again from scratch.
Hope This Helps.
Thanks for the response. Yeah, I have done everything except resort to the stock ROM.
I have noticed some interesting things about the crashing behavior. If the phone has been left alone for a while, it will be able to browse the web/ play games or do intensive tasks without crashing for a decent amount of time, however once it crashes , it will very likely crash right away after I reboot. I only notice the phone (battery) is quite warm around the time it starts the crashing. I hope my hardware is screwed up, would hate to give up this phone . I bought my phone on ebay, so I don't think I have warranty either. ugh
wtf, there is seriously no one else who has heard of this?
Bump.
Are you Overclocking it? Try Underclocking it to see if it is more stable. Maybe your hardware is failing. User currentWidget to see your current usage.
Maybe you're using too much ram. o.o
The phone will get really laggy if you use up all the ram, so clear it up with a task killer.
No overclock, running at 998 (stock) and smartass governor. Tried interactive governor and still does it.
Its just strange that it crashes left and right from doing anything when I first install a build and after a few reboots it stabilizes enough to be rock solid for all tasks except playing something like angry birds or surfing the web. I tried running quadrant 10 times in a row to stress the phone and it did fine.
Could the phone be overheating? I notice its almost always warm or hot when it crashes.

Actually this is exactly what you should do. Flash with a Stock ROM then Take29 then start over. Remember the Stock ROM has more than just the system ROM, it overwrite your RADIO and other stuff also that are not touched by custom ROM. so if you have some corruption at radio ROM the stock ROM should fix it.
- When I mean Underclocking: set MAX Frequency to 800 Mhz and see if it is more stable. just to find the root cause by elimination

I'll try to cap it at 800 Mhz and see if I can cause a crash. Regardless Its probably best to flash to stock rom.
Here is what I think I'll do:
Flash to stock rom.
Reflash HSPL
Task 29
Flash new radio
Flash MAGLDR
Flash new android rom
So I flashed 2.10.1 stock rom from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=655653
And it did not remove HSPL...though it reset my radio to 2.08.
So far things are not looking good. On the very first boot the stock winmo rom crashed and rebooted. Should I flash another winmo rom?
EDIT:
I've reflashed HSPL and also flashed the latest winmo stock rom with Radio 2.15 now. Running Android off the SD card, 2 minutes of angry birds is all it took it to freeze it. I'm starting to believe there must be some hardware damage or something, this is making no sense.
Even surfing the web in the stock winmo rom caused a reboot, the phone is getting quite hot too.
Having exact same problem... should i warranty it and send it in?

If you are lucky enough to still have warranty, do it. I don't have that option sadly.
So I have pretty much narrowed down the cause of the problem to overheating. I let the phone cool down to about 25c and then I ran angry birds and surfed the web and it didn't crash and I played for about 15 minutes. When the temp approaches about 37-40c, the chances of a crash become pretty high, once it crashes it will keep crashing left and right until I let it cool back down.
All evidence now points to an overheating problem. Especially because it is only intensive tasks which seem to cause crashes and only the more CPU/GPU intensive tasks can cause the phone to heat up fast.
Anyone else dealt with this issue? I have no other way to prevent this than to stop heavy use of the phone when it gets warm. This is ridiculous, next thing I know, I'll be walking around with a desktop CPU heatsink mounted on my HD2...
First post WOOO
I have been having a similar issue with my HD2 (Telstra). I was running darkstone on the SD card but occasionally my phone would freeze then I would have to restart a few times to get it working (or leave it for a while). I decided to install the android desire stock ROM using NAND. I changed the radio according to the recommended 2.15.50.14.. after I did this I had a lot of problems with frequent freezing even before installing the new ROM (so during the process). I did successfully install the stock ROM but I now have the issue where if I enable internet usage within about 5 minutes my phone will freeze (but only if I am using the phone). However if I use wi-fi or usb tethering I can use the net for anywhere between 5 minutes and 8-9 hours.
I also have the problem of freezing just after boot, but apart from that my phone has never frozen unless I enable internet usage. Furthermore, this issue only became frequent after changing radios. (for the life of me I can't remember what the previous radio was). When I have more stable internet access I'll try flashing a few different radio's...
But right now funnily enough.. I'm jumping between my phone internet and someones open network in my apartment block... both of which are very sporadic...
Hope this helps somewhat (or will at least..)
There are many threads regarding this issue. If you still have the problem after trying different radios and roms, then it is probably the mainboard.
Mine was also overheating and after I tried all possible fixes, I sent it for repair. They changed the mainboard and everything is OK now. No overheating at all.

[Q] Freeze and reboot

Hello everbody,
bought 2 weeks ago the Nexus 4 16GB and I'm very happy with it.
But i have the problem, that the device restarts when it is under load, means i play or watch something what needs
the full power of the CPU and GPU.
It happens a lot when i play Iron Man 3 The Official Game or Dead Trigger.
Than the device freezes, can't kill the app or even lock the screen and after 10~ seconds it reboots itself.
Active Wifi, Bluetooth, 3G or not doesn't make any difference.
The only strange thing is, what i discovered after a few crashes, is that the battery gauge stands still before the crash and after the reboot the gauge drops to it assumed level.
Screenshot as attachment.
System: Android 4.3 Stock (with this last mini patch from last week)
Does anyone have a idea how i can fix this?
I tried, to charge the battery while android is off and to turn android at 100% on, but this doesn't help.
Sincerely,
GTrash81

Did you undervolt the CPU?
If this is happening without rooting/etc... then I would definitely get a replacement. It sounds like the processor is overheating and causing a reboot rather than throttling.
Today i checked if the device is getting too hot.
But after 2 minutes playing Iron Man, by 9°C outside (i was on the way to the city, waiting for the train), it rebooted.
So i started the game, deactivated the display and put it on the table. After 4 hours i checked the game and played over 10 minutes without a crash.
So what i think is, that these two don't like Trim (most new feature with 4.3) or the are badly programmed and must reload/refresh objects while playing and Trim must work to clear temporary files.
And they are badly programmed, because i red at the developers page, that a few other people have the same problems.
So excuse me for wasting your time. But hey, to err is human.

Yes I did v it... It worked for me...?
it resolved the lag and heating problems but still having problems with google apps connecting through my wifi connection. even if I can basically browse the web using chrome, I cant add a google account in the settings cuz of the issue im having.
Still having battery problems after this. The battery doesn't drain as fast but it takes 3X longer to charge.
didnt solve this that hard reset.. still getting micro freeze lag in games and tablet heats up to 40c playing games like clash of clans and boom beach and this is with 2 cores and 30fps limit set , if i plug in charger it seems stuck, only way is to turn of tablet and turn in cable then it charges normaly... no this is something not right here i never had heat issues or lag in the games i played what a disaster
It even stays at 41c even if i dont play any games, its like the cpu is at 100% for some reason but i did hard reset so wtf is this nonsense ?

When you say "hard reset" do you mean a reboot or a full factory wipe from the settings menu? I factory reset mine and have had no issues except a little stuttering, but it's far less than it was for me before the update. Make sure you're factory resetting from the settings menu and not from a custom recovery... it will erase everything and reinstall the OS from the factory image of the 5.1 update, which a wipe from a custom recovery doesn't do.

Installing a new ROM sometimes does this. I've had similar problems with my phone. Solved by calibrating the battery.
It may take several iterations though.
EDIT: by 'this', I mean heating up and draining of battery mainly.
I did a factory reset yes wiped everything, not just reboot the device sorry but problem is still there and this is from using the tablet over a year never any battery or heat problems.. all started after i updated to 5..1
so why do i have issues then ? it must be faulty update im not the only one having heat and battery problems now.. I feel cheated the update promised increased performance and stability improvements i dont see any of that so far only problems and negative stuff..
and how do u calibrate the battery then ?

There are many versions of essentially the same thing, nothing is guaranteed though, you can google it. Usually it requires root, I guess that's not your case.
So what you have to do is switch off your device and let it charge to 100%. Do not unplug it even then and let it charge for 2-3 hours even after that. Switch on, use it normally. If it's solved then good, if it isn't repeat the process. Like I said, it could take several iterations.
(I calibrated even my laptop's battery the same way in the past. I thought it was gonna die but it worked for another year after that.)
My experience:
A while ago I flashed my phone with unofficial custom cyanogenmod recovery. It worked flawlessly. I used to manually flash the updates as well. This one time, I encountered battery heating up and draining like hell, even if the phone was connected to the charger, battery percentage would go down with each second. Luckily my phone was rooted. I tried calibrating apps from Play Store and it worked. I flashed updates after that as well, but recently, I flashed a new ROM update, and the problem is back. But this time, it's not resolving. I think I've tried every possible way. After a few tries, battery is not heating/draining when using normally, but as soon as I plug it for charging, it gets heated up. (EDIT: it's alright now, without doing anything else than regularly charging and using normally).
Charger is not faulty, I'm sure, plus I've tried a couple of different chargers. ROM is not faulty, if it was everyone would b having the same problem I guess. Also, I re-flashed the previous version, which used to work alright, but the issue remained the same. I'm hoping this would be resolved after a few more tries, or after a new update. As I said, it's not guaranteed, but it works sometimes.
People may tell you to delete the batterystats.bin (this is what calibration apps do, requires root). But a google engineer confirmed that it does essentially nothing as whenever you charge to 100%, the file is automatically reset. http://www.xda-developers.com/google-engineer-debunks-myth-wiping-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/
Although I'm not having any battery issues, I still liked it better before this update. I think I'm gonna downgrade it, if there's a way.
Sidenote: If you ever decide to flash a custom recovery or OTA update, make sure you have high percentage of battery. Flashing ROMs on low battery can cause issues too. (I don't have any evidence for this, just experience, so I may be wrong.)
battery problem is due to performance setting.........every app uses 100% 4Core max limit of tab.... even playstore, chrome etc like app
If u have back up on TWRP u can run TWRP via fastboot. Then install the SuperSU.zip with recovery and make restore. All works fine and 5.1 is gone.
fix heating and battery drain issue.
I solved lag issue by doing this, hope it helps.

overheating and freezing

Currently on Stock and there are various instances where my device will either freeze or overheat and turn off. The temperature is about 96 degrees right now where I live and let's say I'm outside for like 15minutes my device will have turned off and refused to turn on unless I cool it down. Is my device a bust? Should I consider changing it?
Sounds extreme, but even in 65F weather my device will overheat and shut down if I'm fast charging + watching video or otherwise moderately using it.
I have temperatures over 30°C here, the phone wouldn't even notice... I played intensive stuff while it was charging (RR3)
Did you unlock the bootloader?/did you do anything to the system?
I realized it was something related to the stock rom. Something was constantly running cause the device to overheat and freeze

I don't have this issue, other than, occasional hiccups but with chrome. When this starts, I wipe cache because my phone tells me it's stored around 500MB of cache in chrome alone at that point. I usually have to do this every few days... It is very annoying...
In your case I would try that first, if it doesn't work, FDR it. It does indeed sound software related. I know saying FDR is really a cookie cutter solution, but it really could solve this issue.
