Remix 2.0.305 Flashable Zip - Remix Ultratablet General

Decided to wipe the dust of my Ultra Tablet and upgrade to Remix 2.0. Was playing around after rooting it and I never did a nandroid backup. I had to flash 1.5 from fast boot and upgrade to 2.0 and then put cwm and root all over again. can't believe no one made a flashable zip of 2.0 So I made one. Haven't tried with the stock recovery but I'm almost certain you have to have a custom recovery to flash this. The zip is based off a test build I got from jide for 1.5 just added the stuff for 2.0 seems to be working fine for me but use at your own risk.
I'll also include a link to an old CWM and Philz Touch I compiled. The CWM recovery can be flashed.
Philz touch can only be booted through fastboot as it is too large to flash and I don't have my Linux box to really try and get it to compile at the right size

Sent you a private message, but not sure if it went through...
Hey, saw your old post on the flashable zip(s) for the Jide Ultratablet. Not sure if you still use it. I've got mine rooted and have been tinkering with it, didn't realize there was a custom recovery for it. I'd love to flash CWM and back things up just in case. I also see you shared a "stock" 2.0.305.
I should be able to flash the CWM through Fastboot and then if I ever wanted to return to latest stock I could use that flashable 2.0.305 zip?
THANKS!

You should be able to flash the recovery through fastboot. Or you could just boot into the recovery using fastboot boot recovery then the path to the recovery img file. Then yes you would be able to use this to flash back to stock. Not sure but I think I included the stock recovery when you use this to flash back to stock.

Okay... so if I were ever to flash your "stock 2.0.305" your saying you think it would put back the stock "remix recovery" and in essence create an out of the box 2.0.305 tablet?

One more question... did you do anything special to get into Fastboot? I see a lot of issues with people getting into it.

If you are rooted there is an app that will reboot into fastboot or recovery for you. Or you can do adb reboot fastboot when connected to you pc

I am rooted....So downloaded Quick Reboot and when I choose reboot to fastboot it takes me to a screen to select fastboot, which then just reloads the same selection screen again. Doesn't enter fastboot.
Edit - So downloaded Flashify and that worked.

If I remember correctly That selection screen is fastboot. if you adb fastboot devices you will see the Id for the remix

Stock Recovery

I flashed TWRP to make backups and am finding I want to revert to stock recovery for whenever the next OTA is pushed. I'm on stock 4.2.2. Is there a repository to flash the stock recovery specific to the version of android I'm on or other way to backup/re-flash stock android prior to installing custom recovery?

The stock Android recovery cannot make entire system (NANDROID) backups like TWRP or CWMR can. If your looking to re-install stock Android 4.2.2 for the Nexus 10 you can download and flash the Nexus 10 factory image from here (I would recommend taking a look at this great guide if your are unfamiliar with how to flash factory images). If you just want to reflash the Nexus 10 stock recovery you can download it from here, boot into fastboot mode and then flash it with the following command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery path/to/recovery-stock-manta.img
After it completes you can reboot into recovery mode and you should now have the stock Nexus 10 recovery image installed. For flashing the stock recovery you should try and match it to the Android version so if your on Android 4.2.2 try and flash the recovery.img that was pulled from the Android 4.2.2 factory image. However usually you can get away with flashing 4.2 or 4.2.1 version of the stock recovery.img as it is unlikely that anything major changed with the stock recovery image in those small incremental Android updates.
Is there a repo or other way to make a backup of stock recovery before flashing custom (TWRP/CWMR). If I'm on the go and want to interchange between custom recovery and previous stock recovery without the aid of a computer nearby, how would I do that? Is there an app that can save/snapshot my current stock recovery before flashing custom recovery (and then can later let me re-flash that saved recovery)?
Flashing stock recovery wont make me lose any data will it? because 4.3 was released for s4 google edition so im sure nexus 10 is close and i want to be ready.

Correct flashing stock recovery won't make you loose any data. But as always when your flashing anything and if you have even the slightest hesitation backup any data you wouldn't want to loose.

Don't know if you still need this info, but you can use flash_image to flash recoveries without having to connect to a PC. So if you save the recovery image files, you can switch easily. Have a look here:
http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/15/how-to-flash-a-new-recovery-image-if-you-are-already-rooted/
I haven't done this on my N10, but I've used the method several times on my HTC Vivid phone.

The IMG file is not found or flash_image itself isn't there? If you don't have flash_image, you can download it (I think there's a link on that page I referenced, or just Google it). If the former, you need to first navigate to the folder flash_image is in (/system/bin with the ROM I have on my N10), then run the command, making sure the IMG file is in the root of /sdcard.

[Q] Can I flash twrp via my current recovery? (Cwm)

Okay so today I ran into a problem trying to flash 3.99 rc2 paranoid android via clockworkmod I didn't see that flashing it using cwm would cause baseband issues and now I have to flash the 4.3 radio but apperantly I need twrp for that so since I do not have a computer and goomanager won't download the latest twrp I was wondering if I can just download the latest version of twrp and flash it using clockwork mod? I know it sounds weird haha flashing a recovery via a recovery but anyways a quick reply would be thankfull

i never use a pc for android, use recovery tools from the market and choose twrp, download and it will reboot to flash, thats it. very convenient
Use this app and choose your recovery tool that you want.
Recovery Tools. look for it in the market.
I'm using this tool and it's great.
Hey thanks guys that really helped! did and now have twrp although it didn't download the latest one it downloaded 2.6.3.0 but still works!

Its not weird man its a zip file you should download and flash it like you would flash anything else. Simple no need to over think it man just go to TWRP thread and download the zip file of the latest which is 2.6.3.3 I believe. Also the thread name has a paperclip at the end of it so click on it and you will see all attached files within the thread. There you will see all of the TWRP zips... Download latest one and thats it..
Also are you sure you had the latest CWm since I find it hard to believe there is a version that wont work

Yes I'm %100 positive I had latest and the only version of cwm that would not cause issues was the version right before the 6.0.4.3 which I believe is the number if I remember correctly but all is good now I used that app I was recommended and flashed twrp using that and flashed the radio and am now on beanstalk with no problems but I will flash the latest version of twrp now that I know I can haha thanks for the info on that

[Q] what am I doing wrong? (trying to get the gpe rom working - i337)

I have an i337. Never had any OTAs. I was using a recovery that would 'auto-loki' so I never had to flash the lokidoki zip before.
I'm trying to install the latest GPE by Danvdh and I keep ending up booting into twrp(2.6.0.0).
I wipe all that one would normally wipe.
Then I flash the ROM.
The aroma installer starts, I've tried the googy kernal and (mostly) the stock kernal.
I uncheck the reboot now option at the end of the aroma installer to get back into twrp
I then flash the lokidoki zip.
I reboot and get kicked back into the recovery.
I'm thinking I may need a newer version of TWRP, but I'm not sure. I dont want to use odin to get back on jellybean just to update the recovery unless I know that's the issue.
the loki zip is ~10MB
Any info is much appreciated. I've been at this for hours.
You need a newer version of twrp. You don't need to use Odin. Look for the flashify app in the play store.

You need to flash the factory images with fastboot, not a custom recovery. See this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34552123. Also, use twrp not cwm.

Yes, you'd need to boot into the bootloader and connect to your pc. Alternatively try this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...recovery-twrp-2-7-1-0-touch-recovery-t2002326

Updating TWRP via TWRP n recovery

I had TWRP 3.0.1 so I downloaded the latest TWRP 3.0.2 IMG file and booted to Recovery and selected the image and then selected Recovery as to where to flash and it flashed no errors so I backed out and went to reboot and selected Recovery and it rebooted to bootloader and when I stroll volume keys to Recovery then power to select it just hangs there I have to do a power long press to get it to reboot back to Android. Any ideas why Recovery will not load now ?

A bad flash, perhaps? Have you checked the MD5 after downloading?
Possible bad download but at this point I can't reflash the recovery until I can fast boot .. I gotta order another Type C to USB to connect the phone to the computer for fast boot grrrrr...
Thx
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Glad to help! Next time make sure you check MD5 before flashing (even then an occasional bad flash could still cause trouble, but hey, what's the choice here?) You can still boot to Android normally, no?
Sidenote: anyone knows if a micro B to C adaptor would work with fastboot?
Yeah I can still boot to Android fine jus when I select recovery n bootloader it hangs in bootloader. I have to hard reset to get out of bootloader mode lol....
Jus sucks BC now I gotta wait until friday to order a Type C to USB cable to use the computer to fast boot TWRP to recovery.. :/
I jus got this 6P 4 days ago coming from the HTC M9 Developer Edition I decided to go with the 6P over the M10 even though I would have gotten $100 off the M10 for not using my UhOh protection.
But I'm currently Stock w/ root until I figure out or understand this whole Vender thing when flashing Roms.. Jus being very cautious.
With HTC you jus flash the ROM you want but here some say jus flash the ROM and some say flash the Vender matching the ROM.. Lol,..
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
About the vendor img... Not too sure about the whole technical details behind them, but I just flash them every time Google updates them (think monthly security updates), at the very least to get rid of the 'vendor img outdated' popup. You don't need to flash a new vendor img everytime you update/switch ROMs, but only when there's a new vendor.
I usually just flash recovery with flashify. Never had an issue doing it that way. Or fastboot.

People have been facing the same issue all around. Even I did, last night after updating to N Preview. Anyhow, the only solution I know right now is to have a decrypted filesystem (disable encryption), for TWRP to boot and work properly.
Yeah disable encryption I believe I read requires booting into recovery and wiping User Data or something alone those line's.
Unless there's a option in Android settings to disable it idk yet as I jus had the phone a few day's.
But so far I happy with my decision to get the 6P over the M10 even if the 6P is 4 or 5 moths old...
