Note 4 SM-N910U on 5.0.1 Stock Recovery? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
So I rooted my Note 4 about 6 months ago using Odin and CF Auto root. Today I decided i wanted a custom recovery and opted to go with TWRP. I'm not sure what i did wrong, but its been a nightmare. Now my phone will not boot. I get the the red "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" message on the top and it just gets stuck on the screen which says Samsung Galaxy Note 4 . When i go to recovery mode, im able to access TWRP. And it seems to be installed and working. But i cant get my phone to boot and work like normal. I'm thinking if i can some how flash back the original STOCK Recovery with odin it may fix the issue? I really dont want to loose all my data. I did make a backup of boot, data and system with TWRP but this was only after the phone didnt boot.
So my main question is:
1. If i can find the stock recovery for my phone, and flash it over TWRP with odin would that fix things?
2. If not, could I flash back to factory rom (delete everything) Then re-root and try install TWRP again. And then restore the data / system backup i have stored on my external SD with TWRP to get back all my phones data?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Rooted SPH-L720 4.3 Boot Loop help ?

Hi everyone this is my first post, if there is a better place for this in the forum lmk.
My device is a
Samsung Galaxy S4 on Ting which is a Sprint MVNO
SPH-L720 on 4.3 JB
I have gotten myself into a Boot Loop last night trying to restore from backup after "successfully" flashing CyanogenMod custom ROM. The reason I wanted to go back to stock was because none of my data was part of the ROM. This was my first time rooting and flashing a rom and I need help to get back to stock with or without my backup. These are the steps I took to get myself where I am at. I can't post links, I used the videos from qbking77 to do all this.
I used odin on windows to root [Qbking77 on youtube]
I also used GooManager on playstore for TWRP Recovery [Qbking on youtube]
I then used TWRP to create a backup.
I used the GooManager app to DL a cyanogen ROM and a Gapps package.
I installed the 2 zips using TWRP and wiped before I did. The flash works and the ROM works but I want to go back to stock and possibly unroot. I can access download recovery and TWRP but when I try to restore my backup it gets stuck into the samsung booting screen.
I didn't disable KNOX with the SU permission, do I boot up cym again to disable it ?
Does a Restore from backup using TWRP take a couple hours and should I not interrupt the samsung boot screen ?
I only have 800mb space on internal, how do I clear up space for the firmware flash through odin in download recov [QBking77 on youtube]
Thank you for reading, I really need the help
I have an empty sd card in there but how should I clear space for manually installing 4.3 JB when my internal has only 800mb.
I got it back to stock with a 4.3 JB firmware install with an odin v1.85, still can't put up links. I might leave this up for archive and I don't expect to be back on here for a while.
I debugged until my fingernail bled, no lie.

Hi guys im a bit rusty again in all this since i rooted my S3 and HTC desire years ago ,

I followed the exact steps as usual , rooting went fine, phone rebooted as it should , i updated SUPERSU and its binaries and installed Ericson's Busybox,. ,and everything worked as it should ,

Did you use the latest version of ODIN to flash the CF Root?
Think Odin3 v3.10.6 is the latest current version
If you used an old version, try flashing it again using the new one, other than that, I can only suggest trying to fix permissions in recovery if it has that option, TWRP should have it, and finally a factory reset, which is not ideal

i used Odin3-v3.07
but after flashing the root everything worked installed superSU and updated it and its binaries and installed busybox,.
it all stopped working after i went into Stock Recovery and back
id prefer not to do a factory reset Wipe,. unless i really have to to fix it ,.
im going to try reflash with the latest version then,.
i have swapped SD card to galaxy tab to put the Flashable touch recovery on the SD card, and swapped back to the phone so i could Flash the Recovery when im in stock ,.
but ill try flashing Root with latest Odin first.. thank you

the new odin is a bit less informative (to me as beginner)
i managed to use AP to flash the root again
all goes fine , it reboots
and its now upgrading android as it says and opening app's
then Black screen again,. i klick a button,. and it shows me again all the STOPPED msg's of all internal apps that are crashing,. litterally all apps,
what can i do ?
If clearing cache didn't work, fixing permissions in recovery didn't work, only thing left I can think of is factory reset

i cant fix persmission in stock recovery and flashing the philz touch recovery didnt work something about not verify signature,.
al i can do i guess is wipe data factory reset ,.but im affraid it wont fix anything
Try TWRP recovery instead
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/229
No reason a factory reset won't fix things, worst comes to worst, flash the whole ROM again from ODIN, that will fix everything as it wipes and reinstalls the lot
Grab a stock ROM from sammobile
Thank you for all your replys mate..
I managed to get it working again by doing a factory reset in stock recovery after I flashed root with latest odin
Even tho it was my last resort there was nothing else I guess .
I'm not sure tho if this will happen again when I go back to recovery like I did when this all happend the first time while I actually want to flash a more advanced recovery then stock recovery ..
But I'll take my chances and just leave it as it is
Again thank you for your help and suggestions .

Pleased you got it working again, I would say if you think you might want to flash another advanced recovery in the future, it might be best to do that now since you have already factory reset the phone, that way if this happens again, you don't lose months of data and settings and files that you have gathered between now and whenever you decide to flash recovery

i have actually ,. i installed the TWRP u mentioned,. by taking there app from the Playstore,. and flashed the new recovery, within android and without rebooting (just in case)
im used to the old CWM thats why i first wanted the Touch recovery as its based on it,
but always open for trying new things
Thank you
Good stuff
Id say the whole entering recovery / apps crashing thing was a problem with the ODIN version you used to root, too old for Lollipop is my guess, so I wouldn't worry about entering recovery again.

[Q] S4 stuck in weird Bootloop/Soft-Brick. Can't figure it out.

Hi guys,
So I've been playing with my S4 GT-I9505 since it was released , flashing different ROMS, customs recoveries and so on... It sometimes went bad, but I always was able to recover the phone because I could access Download Mode.
At the beginning of this week, I was testing an AOSP MM build for GS4 with TWRP 2.8.7.2 and F2FS. Since almost all of the apps weren't working, I decided to do a TWRP backup and restore from my TWRP of JDCTeam's 5.1.1 custom rom based on CM12.
I kinda made a mistake and decided to recovery my boot partition also. Phone booted up then couldn't boot system. Then the screen flashed weirdly, and went progressively yellow, with the samsung logo fading in the background. So I pulled the battery there, and rebooted. Phone couldn't boot recovery nor system. But I could enter Download Mode. So I decided to flash TWRP Recovery 2.8.7.2, but I still couldn't enter recovery.
Since, I've tried and flashed for 5 or 6 times a Stock ROM (5.0.1 ) through both Odin and Heimdall, with and without Auto-Reboot in order to make a Hard Reset after by pulling the battery, with and without Re-Partitioning with the PIT file.
The phone no longer says "set warranty bit: custom " and so, but still can't enter in recovery or system...
What do you think I should do? Send it to the after sales service (even if I got no warranty anymore)? Is there a secret trick?
PS: The last custom ROMs I flashed were quite particular (custom kernel, f2fs support (that I used)) and KIES does not seem to be able to help

Samsung Galaxy SM-G900H Problem

Hello All, i am almost new to this forum, i had bought my new SGS5 SM-G900H like 4-5 days ago, i had before a SGS4 i9500 witch i had similar problems and success and all things, i tried everything in android world, custom recovery, custom ROMs, flashing stocks ect..
The Very first step of playing in my SGS5 System was rooting it..
How i did that?
1. cf-auto-root
2. odin
3. bootloop
I was sure it was for my specific device.
Then i discovered that it was likely a wrong way of rooting it? since i watched a video on youtube and it showed flashing the supersu package via a custom recovery.. but how shall they flash a custom recovery without being rooted?
Afterwards like a miracle, i download kies 3 and plugged the phone to my laptop and launched kies, and alone the phone booted into recovery mode witch it have been stuck like 5 mins at SGS5 Logo..
What I've done later?
1. Wipe data/factory reset ( using custom rom )
2. rebooting, enjoying life saved
3. rooting the correct way by flashing supersu ( it actually worked )
I wanted to get back to the stock and wanted to permanently clean my device from being custom so i went to supersu app and chose option " permanent clean " something like that, and the phone rebooted..
i went to recovery mode to wipe data/factory reset again to fully clean the task, then i got my self stuck in boot recovery loading, it just showed up the SGS5 Logo witch freaked me..
i just went to odin and flashed the custom recovery ( hoping it will work ) everything passes in odin excepting the phone..
And from there, i am stuck till now with no recovery booting and no normal boot, only what can i do is go to download mode
Recently i am now downloading stock for my device to flash it soon..
i just wonder what i've done wrong, and help me for next time ( i would appreciate help tricks, small notifications..)
Thanks!
i also would like to know if i returned back to stock i'll be having back my recovery ?
Update : i left phone the night and came back and turned it on normally, he booted to recovery then i wiped and restarted and everything went ok.. damn i am getting pre-messed up by this phone..
now what should i do if i want to root the perfect way and have some custom recovery thing for 900H

SM-910W8 suck on Set Warranty Bit: Kernel / Recovery

Hi all,
Using my Note4 the other day and it suddenly restarted. When it booted back up, its was suck on the "Set Warranty Bit: Kernel" screen.
I read that I could use Odin to recover the OS as I need the data from the phone.
I downloaded the sock FW from sammobile for my device and flashed it with Odin.
During the flash process, it failed on the modem portion.
When it booted back up, it booted to the "Set Warranty Bit: Recovery" screen.
I tried to flash it again, and it passed this time, but same results.
How can I recover my OS to get the data off the phone or is there another way to do this?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

You must wipe cache and data factory reset from recovery after flash firmware to avoid bootloops and clean os .i am not sure how you get data off the phone but for rooted users must make backup to microsd card or pc all data+efs+backup rom all the time .cuz things might go wrong at anytime.
