my 3 months old S7 edge display has developed a fault. I wonder if anyone else has noticed similar.
Essentially there is a vertical white line on the right side of the display (sometimes multiple line of various colours).
This goes away when firm pressure is applied somewhere between the front camera and the Samsung logo.
(which I only noticed by accident after resetting my phone to see if it went away as initially it was transient)
Shame as I am away and Samsung says it needs to be fixed when back in the EU
Sounds hardware related to me. Unfortunately only Samsung can help you with that :\

So i've had my Nexus 4 for just over 2 years now. It's stuck by me through thick and thin, i think this might be the end though.
Anyway, so i picked the phone up at around 2 am this morning, it had been working perfectly all day up to this point. So i picked it up, the colours on the screen are a bit weird. I change what's on the screen and the colours remain weird, so i do the standard thing of a reboot to see if that clears it up. This is where the big issue comes in, when the phone turns on again, there's a 1 cm wide black bar on the left side of the screen. Nothing appears to affect it, but sometimes it randomly appears greyer than others.
The rest of the screen has the same weird colours as it did before i restarted, kind of muted, and moving light areas on the screen (like app icons) makes bars of lighter colour move across the screen with them.
If i didn't know that the phone hadn't been dropped i'd be saying that the screen was just broken right now. But i flashed CM12 (was on the latest PA beta) and when the phone was restarting the whole screen flashed working for a split second before going to its broken state again. This hints at the issue being software related, especially given that it initially happened with no physical damage occurring to the phone? When thinking about this, the colour issue reminds me of what happens when you installed CM11 with the wrong kernel and it looks messed up...
Anyway, I think my phone is dead, and i'm posting here in case someone has some genius idea as to what on earth killed my phone.
I'm pretty good at doing stuff with the phone, so can flash and install whatever, hindered only slightly by missing 1 cm of the recovery menu. I would take pictures, but normally i use my phone as a camera and...... If any more info would be useful then please ask!
Thanks for any help, ideas or input in advance!

7 days ago I have purchased this new note 3 N900 , the screen today is acting in a weird manner.
Here is what happened, I switched on the phone and then there was only the wallpaper and a dark triangle on the right side of the screen, I rotated screens but the thing remained the same, that is only the background with a dark triangle on the right side of the screen with a little flicker so I had to restart the phone.
Now it's working fine, please suggest should I get this phone replaced, is this some kind of hardware issue.
Also I had purchased a cover for the phone which was actually very hard to remove and I applied a lot of strength on the right side of the screen to get the cover removed, can that have caused the problem.
Also is there any app which I can use to check is there is a problem with the screen or not.
Thank you for your time, please give your valuable suggestion.
I'm running stock android 5.0 the same software that came out of the box.
The screen roughly looked like the image attached below -
Forgot to mention above that earlier I also had this issue where the all apps button on main screen turned to blue while everything was working fine and won't change to normal so I had to restart the phone again in that situation which did fixed that problem.
Would it be possible for someone to clarify that is this some kind of problem cause due to applying excess pressure as the Urban Armor Case I have purchases was really really hard to remove so I had to apply a lot of strength on the right side of the screen, it was so hard to remove that even the official back cover came off with it, can that have caused the issue or is it just a software problem.

Hi Xperts,
Have Samsung A8 whose screen was replaced 6 months back. However, the screen was not fit properly (not at level with the metallic case) and I had complained to Samsung Service Centre guys multiple times. Finally fed up of visits, I used the phone for last 3 months as it was. Recently, it has developed a unique issue.
If the screen ( from top right corner) is firmly pushed in the case, it gives black screen or flickering screen with Horizontal colored lines. However, if the screen is not firmly set in the case, it works fine. Service centre guys told me that the screen needs to be replaced by paying Rs 8500 again. Thats ridiculous since they are not accepting that they did a shabby job fixing the screen earlier. Moreover, the screen works fine as long as it is not pushed in the case too hard. Can u suggest what could be the probable issue? Trying to see if I can get this repaired outside SAmsung service centre in Delhi. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Sameer
Hi guys, a friend of mine has a S8 w/ 2 linear dead spots on the screen. Screen off, they look like white air pockets. Screen on with a white background selected the two marks appear to resemble burn marks (?). Has anyone experienced or heard of this issue previously?
He's in the process of replacing the phone via Samsung; they were going to replace the screen, but they then decided to root cause this issue and replace w/ a new device instead. He's had the phone for 3 weeks +, no abuse, never dropped or used heavily while plugged in, etc...
I believe this is different (?) issue than the burn-in issues that has been reported (see attached pic).
Let me know what you think...thanks.
Sorry
Looks like a refund to me
To Samsung's credit they replaced w a new device and gave him a free set of AKG headphones. Just something to be wary of...
I have the same problem - and it hasn't been dropped etc - it just appeared one day
I have an international Galaxy Note 3 in a very good condition since I first bought it in 2013. I bought a new phone and placed this phone in my drawer for about 4 months, when I wanted to turn it back on, I noticed the following:
- Greenish/Yellowish tint as soon as I saw the Note 3 logo
- After booting, some white horizontal lines appear on the left side of the screen and they keep flickering
- The screen's refresh rate is so low that it shows a ghost trail behind anything that moves on it
here's a video of how it looks (copy and paste it in your browser): streamable.com/ii7bph
I don't know how or why this happened, I took good care of it and it didn't suffer from any drops or hits to cause this, could this be a hardware problem?
I've tried the following with no results:
- Disassembled the phone and cleaned the screen's ribbon connectors
- Cleared Cache and Dalvik
- Did a factory reset
- The phone was rooted and had a custom ROM installed, I tried restoring it to original Samsung firmware and still no results
Please help me...

definitely looks like a hardware(display) problem, not software. maybe it got damaged during when you stored the device or something, who knows?
you can find screen replacements online or locally if you know where to look, just make sure its specific to your device variant to prevent any incompatibilities(learned this the hard way btw)
