Urgent help - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Long story short, I accidently turned off developer options on my phone and now I can't boot, 'Custom Binary blocked by FRP lock' keeps coming up. I can't boot, or boot into the bootloader. Is there a way to turn on Custom OEM without the use of my phone or do I have to flash back to a stock rom. By the way if anyone has one that'd be fantastic.
Sorry for the beginner **** up.

Thank you! Waiting for it to boot up now.
If I turn on dev options etc, will my nandroid backup work?

Fantastic.
It's been on the Samsung logo for about 10/15 minutes, is this normal?
Edit: Phone is running back to normal now, didn't need to re-flash or anything weirdly. Thank you for your help s7freak

You aren't the first to have done that, nor will you be the last. Drove me crazy trying to troubleshoot why my phone wouldn't boot up randomly at one point.
Once rooted, always keep Developer Options and "Enable OEM unlocking" turned on (this goes for everyone).

Password entry while in stock recovery O_o

So i was checking out the Sprint GSII today in the sprint store and it had a screen lock password on it so i figured some punk put a password on there. I proceeded to go into the stock recovery to do a data wipe and get rid of the screen lock too check out the phone. I navigated too the wipe function, confirmed it then... IT ASKED ME TO ENTER IN THE PASSWORD WHILE IN RECOVERY! The a keyboard came up and everything IN RECOVERY
This must mean you can run apks while in recovery? Can someone confirm the same thing on other GS2 versions by creating a screen lock password and trying to wipe cache or data on the stock recovery?
Maybe other devices can do this too, but ive NEVER noticed it. Does this make GUI's for recoveries possible with touch enabled to eliminate volume button abuse? If someone can figure out how sammy is doing it, that is. Because as far as i know, running an apk in recovery just flat out isn't possible.
^ Teamwin stole my idea, which I am perfectly okay with
If you have an screen lock password set then you need to enter it when using the recovery option.

Yes, but this is the first time a phone has ever done that too me. How is a ime.apk running while in recovery?

In so many words, yep.
My S2 does it so did my galaxy s. Samsung have designed it that way.

Why hasn't a dev ever picked up the idea for a recovery GUI if you can run have touch enabled in recovery?

I think it's good if your phone has a password and it was stolen, then the thief can't just wipe the phone, but if you ever forget that shyt, stresssss

You have a custom recovery, I'm assuming so it wouldn't have a lock.
Even if the thief couldn't wipe it from recovery, Odin would anyways. So I think its sorta pointless.

Even flashing a wipe firmware with repartition will not get rid of the password prompt.

Dude you're using a custom recovery. It only works with the stock one.
Would be nice if the PIN is only needed power on, then it would be a nice security feature. But having to enter it everytime I use the phone is kinda annoying.
Of course, i use pattern lock if anything. Less annoying.
But the main point im trying to make, is that if a keyboard can run, why cant there be touch enabled GUIs for recovery?

I need help

Hello!
I had my S4 rooted and nandroid back up. I was trying to install this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316308
I installed it and gapp installed too and rebooted. I got this message appears
"System software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone"
upper corner in orange says "kernel Failed"
That means I did something wrong?
I read about odin. Does Stock rom get you back to fully stock?
Thanks
Did you run loki doki? see.your on at&t..locked bootloader and i dont think that rom is autolokied. Boot back into recovery flash ld.and see if it boots.
Yes odin will put your phone back to.stock, been there done that lol.

Ok, I been reading some threads about recovery, I didn't relieze, i was away from s3 so long. I just restored from backup data and it boots into this stuck Samsung screen with custom unlocked logo. Bootloop?
Havent seen that particular screen but yeah sounds like your bootlooped. If.you can three finger back into recovery and have a nandroid i would full wipe then Restore your back up (even though people.say restoring wipes anyway..id wipe.if u.are using twrp do not format data!).if.your still looped you may have to try and odin back to stock.firmware can be found on sammobile.com had to do this the other night due to a bad nandroid..lots of fun lol.

Thank you!:victory:
My heart dropped like fainting ghost after I see the at&t software showed up. I wiped factory reset and goes past the samsung with unlocked logo into at&t boot up like new phone. It took 5 mins to get into welcome screen. All is working.
Now, I begun to wondering why my logo says it bootloader unlocked and I download correct at&t rom is in? I use this causal download from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297900
I am trying to understand and pick my first rom. Was thinking downloading pure google rom. Had to read again
That mod.will loki your kernel, prolly why it says unlocked. I.have the.canadian. version..unlocked already thank.god lol.
A.simple wipe can work wonders..if you can get into.recovery and have something.to.flash most times your gona be okay.
Glad your back in.business!

Flash another kernel made for your device, or go thru the ODIN thing, your choice. this is for anyone who have that triangle.
Yes, I read some thread and the roms need kernel, without kernel installed which was has leaded me into that warning att screen. I tried again with roms above link with ktoon kernel and made it through. I was probably be dumb. Pardon me, lots to relearn here.
I own iPhone 4s but I went back to android.

You should be able to get rid of that boot screen with the lock on it by using triangle away. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114

No protection for my device. Any suggestions? I haven't had an android since the mytouch on T-Mobile years ago and I'm still new to this.

[Q] Stuck on boot loop...

I have the bell galaxy s4 i337m.
I tried to unroot my phone and after restarting my phone its stuck on a boot loop.
I tried entering recovery and it shows the blue writing "recovery booting...." but nothing loads.
What should I do?
Wipe data and wipe cache
Sent from my GT-I9100G using xda app-developers app
What recovery, and what version.
if you are using twrp version 2.6.0.0 then that is your problem, if the above solution does not work, it would easier to odin back to stock and start the process agian, ie, root, recovery and so on....hope this helps...
Good luck
and Thanks
how would I wipe data and wipe cache?
I cant access anything on my phone, when I turn it on its stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy S4" startup and doesnt change and when I turn on my phone while holding the volume up and power button it says recovery booting but just stays stuck like that.
I cant really do anything on it.

Why are you doing things to your phone if you don't know what you are doing?
Read this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2413746
and then go to the "General" section and read all of the "pinned" threads.
You should have done at least this much before you did anything to your phone to start with, but if you do it now maybe you won't mess your phone up any more. Good luck.

Hey this brings a big question to my mind... was there an over-the-airwaves update to our friends in the Great White North? Is there now the un-chop-able Harley taking it's place in the land of Canucks? I thought their phones didn't have a locked bootloader?

Error code: “Failed to mount ’/data‘ (invalid argument)” on SM-G935F

I was trying to install Xposed on my SM-G935F, it has already rooted and I also changed the recovery into TWRP 3.0.2-0, but when I try to install "xposed-v80-sdk23-arm64.zip", it showed "Failed to mount '/data' (invalid argument)", then I clicked "Reboot", it stucked at booting screen for a long time, so I force restarted it and went to TWRP again to install the "xposed-uninstaller-20150831-arm64.zip", the same error code showed again, but this time it was fine, I successfully entered the system and everything looks the same as before.
Should I wait longer after installing the "xposed-v80-sdk23-arm64.zip"? Or something truly went wrong? It seems I have to install this in order to use the app "Xposed Installer".
Could anybody help me with this? Many thanks.

OK, I formated the data and the error code is gone, but the problem is still there, it stucked at the booting screen for more than 10 minutes, should I wait longer?
I have tried a lot of times, every time the same problem, but if I force reboot and go to TWRP to install the "Xposed uninstaller", it won't get stuck while booting.

Essential Phone Stuck in bootloop / soft brick?

Good morning all,
I am throwing this out here hoping someone can please help.
Woke up yesterday to the Essential phone logo screen powered by Android... Unresponsive. Restarted with no luck. Went into recovery mode and factory reset. Went to start up animation for an hour but nothing. Device is locked (bootloader locked) and running on the latest build from Essential (7.1.1/NMJ88C/464). I have never unlocked nor flashed anything on the phone, only OTA updates directly from Essential. Just started it up again today and says your device is corrupt. Factory reset again and now cycling between logo screen and erasing circle.
Any ideas to fix the phone? Reached out to Essential but haven't heard back yet.
Thanks all!
