Why do you want to know this?
If it's YOUR PHONE, you should know the PW of your Google Account!

It appears you have not given enough information for me to believe this isn't a legitimate issue. XDA does not condone illegal activities.

Long story short...i setup a fingerprint a few weeks back, didnt use it for a while and now I want to delete it.
Except now my phone refuses to recognise my fingerprint no matter which way i swipe it...
on top of that i'm retarded and forgot the alternate password too.
Is factory resetting the only way?
EDIT: Fingerprint is not set as my passcode, I just have it registered. My passcode is a separate PIN code.

Oh thanks, I don't mean I can't get into my phone.
I have a separate PIN code set as my passcode and I have a fingerprint that is registered that I want to delete, but to delete the fingerprint I need the alternate password, which i have forgotten lol. When I swipe it many times and it fails, it just asks me for the alternate password.

Only way I can think of is if you have a custom recovery installed enter it and factory reset or something.

Oh i see what you mean now..
for now all i can think of is factory reset.. will try to find out..
Thanx
Update: I found this. But i dont know if this also removes the alternative password.. i just located my phone but i cant check anything else
cause im at work.. need my phone..
go online to android device manager log in with your google log in wait till it locates your phone u then click to lock your device it asks you for a new password. It over rides whatever password or lock feature u have on it. Then you get phone type the new password and boom problem solved.

Be advised--if you have registered fingerprints, perform a full/data Nandroid, and later restore, your fingerprints and alternate password may no longer work. The effect is the same as what the OP experienced. It seems like the only way to resolve the issue at this time is to reset.
This problem also affects the Note 4 and Edge. See thread here:

I am offering in the general Q/A forum $25 for anyone who comes up with a method to wipe/clear/delete the fingerprint registration when the registered fingerprints and alternate/backup passwords don't work.

A friend of mine is in real trouble. She bought her s5 for christmas and travelled. She took amazing photos and made National Geographic material videos, including of melting glaciers. when she was on a cruise for the new year, the phone locked her out due to the fingertip lock. The worse part: She wasn´t using it, when she got it from her coat pocket it was already locked. When she went to the Samsung store they told her to do a Hard Reset since the option to unblock with the google id wasn´t appearing. Before I found out that maybe she could´ve tried to unlock with samsumg lost my phone or google remote she did the reset and lost all her stuff. Tried 3 different recovery apps and all of them requires rooting. Not only we´re not confident enough, she wants to return it to Samsung and rooting voids the warranty. Is there any other way?
I even thought about taking the phone to a computer assistance to see if they can do something
Hello, I had found a S 5 at a McDonald's parking lot(Dead), so I went home and charged it up.
Is there a way to bypass the lockscreen without erasing all data? Or maybe somehow grab the phone number by looking up some unique code?
I can Unlock VIA Google, enter backup password, and use a fingerprint.
P.S. The phone has an alarm that goes off at 6:00AM and not sure if it's rooted.
Thanks,
Syn
Umm, that's the whole point of security, so if you lose it, no-one can get in
Hand it in to the local cop shop, ask McDonalds to put a poster up

It's not security without being able to be breached, I'm not here to ask what to do with it, I'm here to ask how to bypass the lock-screen.

Then you will be reported, this is not a hacking forum
Hopefully one day you lose your phone, and someone manages to access all your data
Mod Edit
As has been suggested , the right thing to do is hand the phone in

Ok, i forgot my pattern lock.
and i am not prompting to any "forgotten pattern" option.
what should i do?
i prefer not to erase my device...
you have to be aware how fishy this is gonna look right?
yes...
i am currently at the Android Device manager, trying to lock and reset device device password without any help.
i cant find any option at my gmail account how to do it.
only wipe my phone?
as far as I know, yes. not 100%, but I mean... that's the point of the security
Factory reset is the way to go. If you can easily disable the pattern lock, and there's no point having it in the first place.

Is this the F.B.I.?

lock it with device manager, it will ask u what pin to lock it, unlock with that on phone
Use a factory reset in case you´ve forgotten the PIN or the Pattern. Even if I had a 100% answer for this problem, I´m not sure if this is something which has to be posted on any forum? What if somebody "snatches" a Nexus 6P and asks for help, how to get rid of the safety features? This is what makes these kind of questions at least very suspicious to me.
Seriously? You can't forget a fingerprint you know? This device got a fingerprint scanner in case you didn't realize.
not sure I buy the "not prompted for a forgotten apssword" option.
iirc, you have to have a PIN as a backup. Sooooo, ya
You need a pin backup for fingerprint, but not for pattern. The OP should contact Google support using her/his Google account. That's if this is genuine. Perhaps the community should contact Mishteret Yisra'el.
i have a number of apps that unlock with a fingerprint. are these not going to work on the P4?
I think they will ask for face unlock. And maybe you need to touch some button on the display to "start scanning the face" (and this should take 1/3 of a second) and not accidently authorise a purchasing without additional manual action.
As for the apps, they should automatically adapt to this. I don't think is something a dev need to do (unlike the stupid Pixel Visual Core which, afaik, is something devs need to manually add support, and that's horrible implementation for Pixel users).

We'll have an article on the Portal explaining this situation soon.
The apps use a biometric security API, they do not know that a fingerprint reader or face Id was used. It's a trusted service that negotiates and approves a security test. The Android OS provides the security authentication not the app
I'm also pretty curious about this. I had set up most accounts to use long crazy passwords Google suggested becuase I didn't need to know them for my fingerprint scanner to work.
Actually I have a few apps that use fingerprint to unlock and now with the pixel 4 they won't work. 2 bank apps and a password manager. When I open them the fingerprint option doesn't even come up. I have to use a password.

That's exactly how I thought it would work. Apparently this is not the case.
All of my bank applications switch to pin code verify, or password depending on the apps capabilities.
If there was an api (didn't check) then either the app devs decided not to use it properly or just plain hacked the bio Auth directly somehow.

Hi all.
I am purchasing a used P580 on Monday. I cant recall how to check for the google lock. I'd like to check when she is there with me of course. But, how can I do that at Starbucks and if its already reset? I think I have confused myself by over thinking this.
Thanks!

I assume you are talking about the FRP lock. Just make sure the tablet doesn't require the seller's google account info when it starts.
I know that part. Most people bypass that part in order to setup the tablet. How do I check it then?

There is a difference. If the tablet is unlocked, you can use your own google account or just skip entering an account. If it is locked, you can't do anything until entering the seller's google info. But probably what you really want to know is how enable and disable the lock prior to resetting the tablet. Go to About tablet in setup and tap "Build number" seven times to enable "Developer mode". Then there is an option in developer mode for "OEM enable".
