Hey guys I was trying to flash MIUI 8 on my a6000 lenovo. Bear with me because I'm new to this so I might have screwed up.
Rooted and installed TWRP perfectly. Phone was running kitkat.
I then, through TWRP tried to flash MIUI 8 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-a6000/development/rom-miui-7-lenovo-a6000-a6000-t3355692
After first swiping right to install the zip, i got an "error executing binary in zip" error. Wiped dalvik, etc. again and tried again and then I got a MD5 file not found "warning". It was not in red letters and after that message there was no progress bar or anything and the phone just stopped responding. I assumed it wasn't working and few minutes later took the battery out. After trying to boot again it would give me the "mi.com" boot screen (not the default lenovo I used to get) and won't boot into neither recovery nor normal mode. (for recovery boot I'm trying holding both volume buttons and the power button at the same time. perhaps that is different now?)
I'm guessing the flashing was going on and i interrupted it. How can I fix this?
Update: It boots into MIUI now however pretty much nothing works as expected. It wont even go into settings. Recovery still seems botched and i cant boot into it.
TLDR: Recovery broken cant boot into it. Can boot into MIUI with very limited capabilities. Cannot select USB debugging and "adb devices" won't find the phone. What can I do?
Alright nevermind guys I managed to fix it. for anyone wondering or having the same issue, i tried many things but what I think worked is this:
Turnt on my phone in fastboot mode (hold volume - and power button) , connected it to the computer and used command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" to flash the old TWRP i had on my computer. After that I managed to boot my phone in recovery mode and reflash the rom properly. The weird thing is, my phone could not be recognized by the computer and "adb devices" gave me nothing back so I thought using any fastboot command wouldn't work. Oddly, it did and it flashed TWRP back into my phone.

Months ago I flashed a Modaco custom ROM to my friend's San Francisco. There haven't been any problems of late, however today I attempted to flash a Froyo build so he can try out C2DM apps like Beejive and Facebook and I was unable to load up a recovery screen. When holding Vol DOWN and booting I just got a white rectangle with FTM inside it - indicating that there was no recovery image installed.
I tried flashing Clockwork Recovery with the ZTE Blade Recovery Manager 2.9 but it kept saying 'Unrecognised' after selecting the .img file, no matter which one I used or whether I changed the name or screamed 'hail Mary'. I attempted multiple reinstalls to no avail.
The device is rooted so I tried using Terminal from the Android Market and flashing the recovery image but although it didn't come up with any errors I was still unable to boot into the recovery image. All it does now is show a green android the same as it would if pressing VOL UP when booting.
I've even tried installing with fastboot for mac, but despite being able to input the necessary commands, fastboot doesn't flash the device and just sticks at 'waiting for device' when the recovery flash command is executed. I've tried connecting the device a number of times, rebooting etc. I have no other USB ports available and no access to a Windows pc at present.
Can anyone assist here? The phone still works fine with the Modaco ROM but it's a bit annoying if that's all he will ever be able to use now!
Thanks in advance.
Japanese_Jellyfish_RLS9_image.zip should be easy, and it installs recovery as well. Please read how to install it.
While using the PA Updater app to upgrade my rom, the app attempted to reboot into recovery to run an openrecovery script. While doing this, I believe it set my "reboot mode flag" to recovery.
The tablet boots with the Google screen and then shows the TWRP splash (I'm on version 2.6.0.0), then it reboots and starts again.
I am able to get to the bootloader, but even if I press start or recovery mode it reenters the boot loop trying to get into recovery. In the bootloader was where I saw the reboot mode flag set to recovery. Is there a way to use fastboot to remove that or am I just going to have to do a wipe with fastboot?
It happened to me once. I pushed the power button for 60 seconds as it supposed to do a kind of battery pull, and it worked.

I've done this twice to my nexus now and I think I found a reliable way to restore to running condition. YMMV
1)Boot the nexus into fastboot (power and both volume keys) when you power up.
2)Attach your usb cable from the PC (or MAC I guess, dont have one to try)
3)start WUG Nexxus Root Toolkit. 'Launch' advanced utilities.
4)Test your fastboot with Quick tools. check the button at Fastboot-Bootloader and click 'List Devices' if the box that pops up is empty then fastboot isn't working (I can't help you there and it must be working to continue).
5)If fastboot shows a device then go to "Boot Temporary" and click 'Custom Recovery'.
6)I selected 'Touch TWRP' but CMW may work as well. This will reboot you into (temp)TWRP and from there you can force a reboot that will reset the 'Recovery' flag that has locked your bootloader.
7)Give it a few minutes (be patient for 5 minutes) and hopefully you reboot to where you were prior to this mess.
Long time lurker and couldn't fix my fails without everyone here.
Thanks to all.

I had the same thing happen to me (though i updated from stock 4.4 to 4.4.2 [and i had twrp installed]). I tried reflashing to stock recovery and a few other things but same problem, it kept booting me into stock recovery. I know this is going to sound crazy, even stupid, but just letting it sit there for 5 minutes (at the stock recovery screen) let it work... I was searching for more things to try and it just started booting.... Checking the bootloader again showed the reboot mode flag set to none.

I guess mine worked because I was still on stock bootloader and adding TWRP was an important key but the 5 minutes seems to be the solution after all the rest.
recovery boot loop:- Is coz, one of your partitions would be facing problems while mounting.. So Wipe the Partition and Format it with Ext-2 file format. and reboot the Mobile. Then it'll stops rebooting.
Do you have a Samsung device?
Be warned - there is no such thing as fastboot mode for most Samsung Galaxy devices - you'll be wasting your time doing this and typing "fastboot devices" for many hours!
If you have problems with your recovery, it works to just reflash the CF-autoroot kit, which happens to flash the cache partition too. My problem was similar to the OP's - a bootloop with TWRP's obviously buggy OpenRecoveryScript, which was installing a ZIP file over and over again.
If you flash the CF-autoroot specific to your device, TWRP will be gone, but the phone will boot normally again - with all your data on it - hooray!
Then you install TWRP or CWM recovery as you did originally.
Stay away from OpenRecoveryScripts! I'll be installing a ZIP file in the traditional, manual way from now on, from an external SD card so I can remove the card if I get another TWRP boot loop.

How do you install cf-autoroot when stuck in a boot loop with samsung galaxy S device if there is no fastboot?
My phone is stuck in bootloop too. It shows Twrp at the starting and then restarts. What am i supposed to do? I need help ASAP please
Okay, so not sure what I did here.
I have an LG G2 ATT version with 4.2.2 installed.
I was trying to install CM, which I already have on my Nexus 7 and love. But the LG G2 doesn't have a nice one-click install app like the Nexus 7 does.
So, I managed to root it, and got SuperUser installed and Clockworkrecoverymod.
At one point I also had TWRP installed, and I think that is where I went wrong. I went to flash a new fastboot / recovery mode and think I selected the wrong one (LG G2 International).
Ever since then, attempting to reboot into recovery using the hardware method (volume down + power) doesn't work. If i force it into fastboot mode using Clockworkrecoverymod or ioroot, I get a strange message.
All the phone shows is white text on a black background:
[830] Fastboot mode started
[940] -- rest --
[950] fastboot; processing commands
then, if i unplug the USB port, I get a few messages. If I replug it in, I get the above message again, with different time stamps.
If I boot normally, it pulls up the normal stock OS, but any attempt to boot into fast mode gets me this message. I can also boot into download mode, but it hangs at 0 %. I tried Flashing a new Recovery using clockworkmod, and it says it worked, but booting into recovery just results in ending up in the same Fastboot mode deadend.
I see the same message if I try to factory reset the phone through the normal software method in options.
So, it is great that I didn't completely brick my phone when I idiotically installed for the wrong mode, but without being able to get into fastboot mode, what are my options for getting back on there and back to stock so I can try again?
And yes, I tried to make a backup on my device, but when I went to go back to it, clockworkmod said it isn't there. Not sure how I messed that up, but anyone have any suggestions on what I can do going forward?
As I understand; If you're trying to boot it to recovery mode, it goes to fastboot mode, right?
If I understood right; you need just flash recovery to your device.
G2 has a different boot process from other devices. If bootloader failed to boot the thing you want to boot, it goes to fastboot mode. That's why it goes fastboot mode when you try to boot it to recovery.
Ah yeah, i just couldn't figure out how to get it out of Fastmode. I was a little confused about the difference between fastmode and recovery.
I seemed to have fixed the problem by AutoRec, for whatever that is worth. Now it boots into TWRP's recovery mode. Shouldn't be hard to get cyanogenmod now.

Give a thank to the OP of the threat.
I need some help.
Last night I was updating to lineageOS' new nightly update with TWRP in recovery mode. I also like to run a custom kernel on of that for battery life reasons. In doing so, I mindlessly flashed the custom kernel (blackscreen 3.6.2) to the system image partition instead of the boot partition, then went back and flashed SuperSU, wiped the cache as I normally do.
My problem is that when I rebooted the phone it hangs on the stock LeEco boot logo without going past it. In addition I cant get it to go into fastboot or recovery no matter what button combination I use. In addition, I can't get adb or fastboot to detect it from my PC to do anything from there either. My PC does detect a "Portable Devices", listed as a D:\ drive, but this isn't helpful.
I could really use some help. I'd hate to think I bricked my phone with such a mindless mistake. If you know what's up or another post that can help me, please post it.
Pls disregard this post, I managed to boot into recovery when I plugged it in to my PC and turned it on with volume up and power

thanks, bro.I have same problem, it work for me.
Hey their. So i jsut bought a one plus 6t and started playing around iwth it. I tried to get twrp and i got it but when i rebooted to os i had no wifi. So i download magisk zip and flashed it. After this i got stuck in bootloop and so i wne to twrp and wiped everything except system. Then i rebooted and got this message Qualcomm CrashDump Mode Attempted to kill init! exit code=0x0000000b do_exit. Then i freaked out and accidently wipes system too. Now i think i have a complete brick as adb still works but i cant transfer any file from pc to phone because theirs no system. Please help!!!
Never wipe system and vendor on A/B devices, literally, never.
Boot twrp and flash OOS or use msmdownloadtool.
What do you mean flash OOS. Like flash a fastboot file? And what version of msmdownloadtool should I get as their is no system. Should I get 10 cause that was my last system or it doesn't matter.
Update. I left twrp after flashing a stock image and now adb doesn't recognize my phone. When booting into recovery I go into the one plus recovery. Now I'm really screwed.
Okay now im really screwed. Whenever I boot with power up or power down I get sent to the bootlaoder page that says fastboot mode products name. I cant leave this page however. On the options above the information I click reboot recovery I get sent back to this page.
UPDATE. My phone is a literal brick now. It won't even turn on. I tried to force reboot it before and after it powered off it wont turn on. Its fully charged and when connecting to charger of holding buttons nothing happens. I have no warranty so Im hoping that someone can help me.
The "bootloader page" is fastboot and that's normal because there's no system to boot, you wiped that partition... and ADB only recognizes the phone when the boot process ends and ADB is enabled in the phone.
If you press vol up + down when you connect the usb cable the phone boots in EDL (Emergency Download Mode) mode, long press power + vol up to leave that state.
Now, download msmdownloadtool from here, extract the file, power off you phone, conect the usb cable to your pc, press vol up + down and connect the usb cable to the phone, open msmdownloadtool and flash the OS.
Edit: Read this thread for more detailed instructions.
What do you mean by flash the OS. The OS in the system or do I have to download one?
whenever I plug in my device it vibrates and then goes into the fastboot page. Also adb can detect it if I type in fastboot devices.
So i go the device to work and MsM worked until 4 seconds and then It said param preload for status of connection and status of last communication says device not match image
Try with the fastboot ROM.
When i downloaded another version of MsM it did not say no image match instead it stays at 4sec and says recording download time
Can you give me instructions on how to use the fastboot room? Like after i download it what should i do with it?
Download the rom, unpack it, boot your phone in fastboot (Power + vol up + vol down), connect the phone to your pc and execute the "flash-all.bat" file, and just wait.
um what is flash-all... How does it work what am i supposed to do.
what does unpack it mean?
Hey their im going to assume you meant to unzip the file and then open the file called falsh-all.bash. In that case when i do that i get this message "error: failed to load 'images.zip': No such file or directory
Press any key to exit..." In a CMD window
